The slab of ribs were meaty but not too smoky. The mixed sauce was okay but not great. The French fries were crispy and delicious. I expected a more smoky taste to the ribs since they are being smoked outside. Overall the meal was okay. I will try the food another time. read more

I would give this restaurant a higher rating if they would get rid of these nasty french fries. I don't like battered french fries as it is, and then they have the nerve to add mild sauce on them as if that's gonna make it better. I almost did not share this review because my initial experience was very good, which brought me back to this establishment again. I recently visited the restaurant to pick up an online order that was prepaid for in the early afternoon only to arrive at the restaurant and have to wait an additional 40 minute wait on my food. I ordered online and prepaid for it, but I took it with stride and enjoyed the conversation with a gentleman who also raved about this restaurant in his past experiences with their good food. When I took my food home and begin to eat it because it was still hot. I noticed that the food was extremely dry and overcooked. I'm not sure how this would happen after I waited an extra 40 minutes past the time that it was supposed to be ready. I was very disappointed with my meal. I am a true believer of patronizing black businesses and I have several friends who also patronize this establishment, but they too have noticed the decline with the restaurant and the food quality. I hope that they can correct their faults before they open their new establishment in Tinley Park Illinois, if not I guarantee that I nor my friends will return. I forgot to mention I spent almost $70 on food that most of it was thrown out because was overcooked and I couldn't eat it. read more

I like all out smoke pit, but when they open they were giving a nice amount of food now they are cutting back like some of these other black owned restaurants that's not cool, the food is good but don't cut back on the portions and you still charging the same price you use to get a lot of rib tips but now you can tell yall cut the portions read more

Super by for the first time last week and was recommended the turkey tips. I'm hooked. I've driven by this place so many times and am kicking myself for never stopping. Don't be like me, try it out to sooner than later. Im a lil sad they arnt open Mondays, but they deserve a day off too. read more

Came here after a party in the area. My husband and I always like to get a bit of everything when we try a new place. We got the Mac and cheese, baked beans, rib tips and fries I was speaking to Antoine (I hope I spelled it correctly!) and who he called the Grillmaster in the back of the take out area. Very friendly and answered my random questions. They said they will be having a grand opening Sept 16. We got home and got to try the food. We have other BBQ choices in the area but I am here to tell you this will be our spot. Husband is picky on his BBQ and liked this a lot. I particularly enjoyed the baked beans with ground beef. I placed my first order yesterday at 5:45pm online for a 7:15 curbside pickup. I arrived at 7:13 and clicked the link I'm here for curbside pickup. I called at 7:25 and was advised that it will be another 25 minutes before my rib tips will be ready. I waited in my car until 8:05 and went inside. I was told again it would be another 25 minutes for the tips. The counter person apologized that I was misinformed the first time. I cancelled my order. As I was walking in the house , I got a call that stated the manager would drop off my order on there way home, I provided my address, and the order would arrive in approximately 25 minutes.I was called back and asked if I was going to pay with credit or cash with a discount. I cancelled, again. I felt for my inconvenience that it should have been free. I had waited over an hour for my original order and then asked to wait additional 20 minutes after I had arrived home. I had to contact you for status twice, good business practice would be to inform me prior that my order was being delayed and offer me a chance to decide what to do. I read more

My first visit was not great but I wanted to give them another shot to see if they just had an off day. First time that I was there, I was greeted with friendly faces. This time, as I was approaching from parking spots there was some guy going crazy, screaming out by the smoker. Needless to say, that tone continued inside where it seemed as if I was bothering them when I waited to place my order. The place was clean during both visits. I ordered the exact same items and the results were nearly the same. The baked beans improved from being straight out of a can with alot of added brown sugar to having meat and seasoning but still far too sweet. The mac n cheese was the same, underseasoned overcooked pasta. The tips were tough on both visits. The hot link was much better the second time. Coleslaw was MIA for both visits. Excellent customer service! I ordered a wing and tip combo. Chicken was perfectly seasoned just needed a little more crispness and the ribs were very good and tender. My husband had the rib and turkey link combo the turkey link was dry but he enjoyed the rib tips and we both ordered a large for the combos. We're use to the Styrofoam plates for large portions our food was packaged in the plastic boxes it didn't feel like a large portion wise. Overall, I recommend to try it out! We didn't get to try any of the sides because they were sold out, but so far so good. read more

Today was my first visit. I don't eat beef or pork and it is very hard to find a good BBQ Place that makes turkey tips that are good. These turkey tips were great. Nice and tender and the sauce was out of this world. My husband had the rib tips and he enjoyed them also. The smell of the smoker makes you want to go inside and try them out. The service was good and everyone I came in contact with at this smoke pit was kind and friendly. I ordered a large rib tip and beef/pork hot link combo, baked beans and an extra sauce on the side. What I received was turkey tips instead. This was a delivery order so by the time I received it the restaurant had closed. The turkey tips had very little sauce on them and tasted terrible. Consistency is key! I've been here 3 times so far and every time I've went they've never disappointed. Everything I've ordered so far has been good! The tips are always flavorful and tender, the wings both grilled and fried are delicious, the Mac n cheese and baked beans are so good! And they put the hot link on a bun and ready to eat! This review is written based on 2 visits as I don't want to automatically give a review off just 1 visit but here goes. First visit is as follows. The fried turkey tips were not good unless you took the breading off. The breading was way too salty. The turkey inside was very small around the mini altoid mints. Once the breading came off the miniature piece of meat was tasty and tender so i was thinking maybe if i try the grilled next time it would be good. The fries on my first visit was excellent they were the highlight of my visit. I ordered beans which I never received and the mac and cheese which was good but way too much cheese and very little pasta. Fast forward second visit cause I didn't want to just drop them after the first visit. I ordered the pork hot links which were excellent. The fried wings were inedible the wings would not break as they were undercooked but the breading was very dark. So I think maybe by it being the holiday weekend they were rushing and frying too fast so I'm very disappointed in that. I was looking forward to the fries because they were so good last time. Well to my disappointment unfortunately they were either overcooked or refried. Tasted like the potato chip sticks they were crunchy. If I do give a 3rd chance definitely not sure that i will i will probably just stick with the hot links. I was torn between giving 2 or 3 stars but I just gave 3. read more
