The technician came Jan. 16, removed the pilot light and said he would return with the new part. He came back Jan. 19, after the storm forecast. He didn't have the right connection for the new part, but assured me it would be fixed by the end of the week, "even if I have to work on Saturday." On Thursday, he contacted me, said he had the right part, and would be there at 8 a.m. Friday. At 7:30 am, I got an automated message saying my job was canceled. I contacted the tech, who said he knew nothing about it. A short time later, I got a message from the company -- the message was a misfire. But no one would respond or tell me when or if my repair was still scheduled. By Saturday, with the storm bearing down on us, I hadn't heard from anyone. I made repeated calls and messages, to the company and to the technician (704-506-0501). Finally, a man from 888-840-5788 called and told me I was getting a refund. I told him I didn't want a refund, I wanted a working fireplace in an ice storm. He claimed they still didn't have the part, even though I was told Thursday that they did. I would suggest NEVER GIVING THIS COMPANY A CHANCE. I have a handcapped family member, and if the power goes out, I'm stuck. After the storm is over, I'd like to do business with a reputable company, if anyone can suggest one.

The inspectors found certain faulty components in my system, but they neglected to clean the fireplace as advertised. The service tech promised to circle back with me with a quote on the replacement parts then never called. I reached out to them via phone several times and finally got a hold of the owner who told me the parts are unavailable, and he promised a refund. He never refunded me the charges. Now when I call, the secretary tells me the owner is unavailable to speak with me.

We had Emberstone Chimney Solutions come in to give us a 2nd opinion on a botched roofing job that…read morewas done around the chimney flashing which caused an indoor leak. Long story short, I needed somebody to redo the chimney chase and the roofing/flashing around it. Emberstone showed up and gave me what I thought was an honest assessment of the problem and how to remediate it. Their quote was similar to other quotes I had gotten but they were a bit more detailed on how they were planning on doing the work. But the more important part was that I had gotten a quote from Owen's chimney, which is supposed to be one of the most 'well known' teams in Charlotte, but strangely they were reluctant to do the roofing and literally told me "we can do the flashing but we are not a roofing company so we recommend you go with somebody else for that". Of course, I did not want to divide the work between a roofing and chimney company because if something went bad down the road it would be for sure a finger pointing situation. Emberstone Chimney said "we do it all, we own it and we do it right". So I signed up with them. They came in on a very nice looking rig and over a period of a few days did the first part of the work which included removing all the brick on the chimney chase and starting on laying down the new water proofing elements and new brick structure. I will say that we had a bit of a hiccup as initially I was not happy with the look of the brick that was laid closer to the roof line. I offered this feedback to them and they immediately came back with a plan to remediate and explain to me how it was going to end up being done. How companies react to a customer concerns matters a lot and I was happy with their response and eventually they came and finished the job with a new chimney look and cover which looked much better than what was originally in place. I will also share that the working crew was really nice and fun to work with. They were really professional and explained everything they were doing in full transparency. Communication was frequent and complete over emails, voice, and text messages. Will recommend this crew and would use them again for future chimney repairs.
