They had a dr doom fig I got which I was looking for but they charge 50 bucks for should have been at least 45 but I still bought it. And I got a doom comic. If I was reviewing only on figs it get like 2 starts but I'm not. If I was reviewing only on comic easy 5 starts but again I'm not. It's the biggest comic book store I have ever been in by far, and I have been in many; in fact, it's almost like Comic Con minus a million jostling people in cosplay. And pretty much, if they don't have it, it's not out there (well, almost: we found their Godzilla merch to be a bit thin). About half the store is staff only because it's the stacks of back issues of comics, but there's still a ton to see in the part the public can access: toys, games, comics, graphic novels, figurines, collectibles, and so on. I got a Sailor Moon lunch box, and he got a graphic novel. There are buttons everywhere to push if you need aid from staff, and the guy who assisted us in getting something from a case was indeed helpful. Overall, worth a stop!

For a MtG prerelease with very limited seats, for a set I was very excited for I called early in the week to understand how they handle prerelease events. Per their site, and Per the conversation with their employee, there wer no pre-event sign-ups, and a half an hour before the event they would start registering people. I asked if there was pre-queueing, and was told that happens, so I asked if showing up fifteen minutes early would give a good chance for making the limited seating. What can I say, I was excited. I invited my friends and we were all going to be there early. In total, five of us. Well, as I was pulling up 15 minutes before the event, I found out they had done a sign up, and before they were even supposed to be starting to register folks, they had run out of seats. And the answer to why they did exactly what they had told us they were not going to do? Management decided the night before to change things. I regret having suggested to my friends that we go there for the event. I regret that those friends purchased a draft box at above MSRP from this store in an attempt to save the evening. I regret that they decided to buy beverages there, as our evening had been ruined by Enchanted Grounds' management team. Will I be back? Maybe. Will I trust them on their event descriptions? Nope.

All in a Nightmare. The owner of this shop is literally a super villain. Mentally unstable and ruthlessly discriminate, he works hard to keep people out of his store. My experience has been the same as the other 1 star reviews. I was kind, polite and knowledgeable but I was met with a "what the **** are you doing here?" written on his face. He told me that the place was closed despite it clearly being open. I'm not sure if he was just seeing if I had the balls to walk into his store or not. I tried negotiating a time that was suitable for me to shop in the store and a compromise could not be reached. The whole time his mannerisms seem to indicate a mental instability- I can't say that, and neither is it my place. All I know is that this man has crazy written all over him. other reviews can attempt to justify this guy's behavior, but it's much more than just simple discourteousness- it's downright retaliation against potential customers. It makes no sense either, this place is bursting at the seems with comic books and it has a great location. But why should I care about what makes sense? I half expected this lunatic to bull rush me if I stepped one more step into his store. Even if he did let me in he'd probably bite me if I picked out the wrong comic. This guy is as predictable as a Chinese firecracker and as psychologically menacing as the Saw puppet. As I stood outside Dr. Psycho's comic book shop I peered through the window and saw all the wonderful comics lining his store and I thought maybe I just need to prove that I'm not afraid of him. Like Macaulay Culkin to a bearded shovel-toting neighbor, maybe the only thing in between me and this guy's trust is a profound analogy about dinosaur pajamas. I doubt it though. Next time I walk into the store I'll certainly be met with opposition, and trust me, if you go into this store, you will too. But mark my words, next time I enter this store I will confront the menace that is the crazy owner. So does that mean I'm going back? Well every Batman needs a Joker, I think I just found mine. read more

This place is a joke it is rarely open and the owner is a royal asshole I was in there for about 5 minutes and he kicked me out because I am some what of a thug by aperance and he didn't believe me that I am actually into comics and action figure games things if that nature. He cussed me out told me I was a liar because I asked him if he had the comic book that wutang and helped wright or created and he didn't believe me said that I needed to get the fuck out of his store and threatened me and became physical and aggressive due to the fact that I didn't buy anything in the whole five minutes he gave before pressing me like a cop would to a suspect or something and when I told him I probably won't be buying anything if continued to yell at me cus me out call me a liar and try and fight me and physically push me out of the store then he was going to call the cops hahahaha what a fucking joke no wonder no one ever byts shit and only looks around like he was screaming about because his attitude and lack of respect and violent out brakes doesn't give anyone enough time to find what they want to buy before he freaks out and no one wants to buy shit from an asshole after they become so unexplainably and unnecessarily disrespectful to them ... The first couple of times I went in here, it was pretty late, so was told he was closing up. Oh, well, guess you don't get my money. The third time I went in was different. I came in during regular hours, and the owner was very nice. We both joked about our baldness being a downfall of our luck with women. I bought a pile of comics and went home happy. I continued going in there regularly, and got to know him a lot better. Very smart man. Has a great memory, too. It's now been about 6 years that I've been going there regularly. He's literally given me hundreds upon hundreds of dollars of free comics, trade paperbacks, pins, etc along with my regular discount, because he is actually a very generous guy. There has been times when I couldn't afford comics for over a month, yet when I would go in, my comics would still be in my hold slot. I tried talking to the guys at Mile High on Colorado Blvd for months, because they can afford to buy comics that All In A Dream won't risk getting, but just got the cold shoulder with them. They seem cliquish. I can understand people who feel like AIAD is run by an a-hole, but ya gotta realize that he is on Colfax, next to a high school, and probably deals with a lot of shitheads. I recommend giving him another chance. It payed off for me. read more

The owner is a complete douchebag. My wife and I walked in because I was looking for some comics that Mile-Hi was sold out of. There were stacks and piles of comics everywhere just sitting on top of the back issue boxes. I "moved" a stack so that I could browse through the back issue bin and baldy gets all huffy and insists that he move the stack himself and then rudely says, "Actually I need to close, so you need to leave." and kicks us out at noon on a Saturday during normal business hours. Yeah, D-bag, you need to close the store.... PERMANENTLY! Read the other Yelp reviews, he's treated MANY other customers with the same rude and aggressive sociopathic behavior and kicked them out of the store as well! Screw you! We will never come back! I love this place. I walked in, chatted with the guy behind the counter, and immediately made it my new go to shop. Ray can be a bit standoffish, but if you get to know him, it's totally worth it. Additionally, I love the store. My wife actually enjoys going to this shop, unlike every Mile High in town, and I've sent many friends, male and female, to this store and all of them have become loyal customers too. I've seen the negative comments, but I also have been in the store when people come in, and sometimes, people are just jackasses. Ray gives as he gets, and if someone comes in with an attitude of their patronage being a gift to the store, then Ray will make it clear that's not the fact. Shopping is a two way experience, and if you give the attitude you want to receive, it usually works out. A store with as many regulars as All in a Dream must be doing something right. read more

Came in looking to fill up the tomato box, but the place seems to have been overrun by an anally retentive, rabidly carnivorous 50 year old virgin. I nearly thought our omnipotent gatekeeper of sexual repression was going to jump over the counter and start seasoning me with the amount of drool dripping down his chin as he stalked me around his cave. Highly recommend to management that they install a cage around the counter for the safety of both parties :) Edit: Out of morbid curiosity, i returned to the zoo only to walk out with humbled shame. Marked by deep-seated emotional battles, yes, but the man is incredibly intelligent and far from disillusioned. This place is his sanctuary of which he's understandably protective. My wife and I walked into this shop today after having lunch down the road. The owner was sitting behind the desk and asked us if he could help us with anything. When I told him that we were just browsing he told us that we needed to leave because he was closing the store. My wife and I chuckled in disbelief, as it was 1430 on a Tuesday. This place is so-so. They've actually got a TON of graphic novels, and I've even found some OP stuff just collecting dust on their shelves and was able to buy the books at the original cover price. But, the customer service in this place is terrible. On more than one occasion I've tried to special order a comic, and never once have I received a call to let me know that it arrived, even though I would later see it sitting on the shelf. I'd say skip this place and go to Mile High, unless you just want to browse their huge collection of graphic novels. read more

What we actually found was a frustrating barrier to entry, not just into the store's event, but into the hobby itself. Let's talk about the Gundam TCG beta event. You'd think being physically present, cash in hand, eager to participate would be enough. Nope. The real gatekeeper? A smartphone. No phone, no game. It doesn't matter if you're a dedicated player or a teen excited to get into the hobby--if you don't have the app, you're out. And let's not forget, to even use the app, you have to hand over your personal data and jump through digital hoops. When I called ahead to confirm, I was given a workaround: "Just emulate the app on a computer." Sounds simple, right? Except, if you actually read the terms of service, that's a violation of the rules. So, the store's solution? Encourage rule-breaking just to participate in an event they're hosting. Yikes. This is exactly how you alienate an audience. Five eager teens, $70 per player, all turned away because they didn't meet a completely unnecessary tech requirement. And that's just us. We have a group of dads and teens always wanting to dabble in new games to see if they hold their weight. There were plenty of other potential players in the same boat. Imagine the revenue lost. Imagine the enthusiasm squashed. All because we agree smart phones dont belong in our teens hands. Now we got this store trying to tell us our kids need smart phones. This store, like its now-closed predecessor in the Mills, seems to have forgotten a key business principle: know your customer. Not every hobbyist is glued to a smartphone, and forcing a tech barrier on a physical card game is absurd. We play these games because we would rather play these than sit on a phone. The whole situation is ironic. 1/10--because at the end of the day, a comic shop should bring people into the hobby, not shut them out. Good luck--you're going to need it.
