I was very impressed with Julio. He was detailed and straight forward and obviously sincere during our conversations, in person and on the phone. However, his diagnosis was poor. Hence the middling rating. Perhaps transmissions simply aren't his specialty. It could have cost me a bundle of cash if I didn't have a Las Vegas background and therefore very adept at odds and probability. My Infiniti G20 has always shifted beautifully, earning praise in that regard from many mechanics despite its age. Then I have a starter replaced at Pep Boys and immediately there's a Check Engine light, error code P0745, and a very harsh jolting lunge upon shift from first to second gear. It has to be a connection or a minor electrical issue. I checked online, at the specialized message boards for Infiniti and Nissan vehicles. One item showed up repeatedly as the culprit of the P0745 error code -- a failed drop resistor. I printed out the paperwork, with DROP RESISTOR highlighted and circled. Nobody cared at Pep Boys or the next three shops, including Julio. They stubbornly believed their computers and their expertise more than trumped the experiences of actual users. Julio said I needed a new transmission pressure control solenoid at $800 or a transmission rebuild at $1500. I wasn't buying it, not with a Las Vegas background and an older car. Keep looking. Finally I found someone who looked at my paperwork. He combined the user experiences and decided to reset the car's computer. That computer can be an issue if the starter is replaced but the sequencing not followed perfectly, in terms of disconnecting the battery, etc. That reset computer triggered the fix. Suddenly the car is trying to function as intended. The check engine light is gone. But the hard shifting remains. Most importantly there was a new variable, an intense electrical burning smell. That mechanic asked all the relevant questions. I told him about replaced wires when the new starter was installed. I had mentioned that to Julio and the other shops. This guy took the information and logically concluded the new wires were burning. But what was causing it? He defaulted to my paperwork and checked the drop resistor. That's it. Bingo. I needed a new drop resistor and now the starter ground wires need to be replaced again. Now my car is recognizable again. The bottom line was $180 including the reset computer. That's a cavern from $800 or $1500. Previously in Miami I used Oscar Jimenez at Moby Auto, across the street from All Import Tech. He always advised me to be wary of "add ons," the unnecessary expense. I learned quite a bit from Oscar and was deflated when he and Moby mutually parted ways, as Moby became a body shop only. I'm convinced Julio wasn't intentionally adding on anything. He provided a thorough analysis, but one that proved to be brutally wrong. I'm not totally down on All Import Tech. I may use them again. My first experience was not positive, and needed to be detailed. read more

I found this repair shop through Yelp as a few others have. Because of my experience there, this is the first review I have ever written on Yelp...my experience was that good. Back story: my wife's car (15 year old Honda Civic) has begun to have some age-related "little things" breaking. You know, the kind of repairs that you can put off indefinitely, but detract from the car. For my wife's car, it was a broken driver's side power window and a broken windshield wiper switch (wiring was good, but the plastic switch was held up by a paper towel wad). I had been going to a shop close to here, but when they quoted me $617 just to fix the power window, I knew I was being taken for a sucker. They also quoted over $200 for the windshield wiper switch. I felt like they thought I was an idiot...that I don't have the ability to look on an auto parts site and see how much the part is or look on YouTube and see that, at least the power window repair, was not a big deal. So, I looked for a new shop on Yelp and I found All Import Tech. I drove my wife's car over in the afternoon and Julio (the owner) was the first one to greet me OUTSIDE (I don't think he ever actually sits down during the day!). I asked him how much it would be to fix the window. He said, "the motor and regulator should be around $100 and maybe an hour labor...so somewhere around $165...maybe less if we can do it quick." What about the windshield wiper switch? "Well, I have to get that part from the Honda dealer, but should be around $140." To sum: other repair shop--$800+. All Import Tech--$350. He not only looked at the problems I wanted fixed, he also looked at the engine and promised to give the car a thorough check when I brought it back. I did so the next morning. Because of how much I was saving on the problems I came in with, when he gave me the results of the inspection I was able to fix a couple more problem areas that were not immediate pressing concerns, but needed to be done (new front brake pads, adjusting rear brakes, broken visor clip, valve gasket)...all for about the price I would have paid just to have that stupid power window repaired at my now-FORMER car repair place. All Import Tech is as good as the reviews here say it is. Do not doubt. I wish I would have found this place when I moved to Miami 2 years ago. I may have kept my old car instead of getting rid of it because the repairs were getting too expensive. Now I know, it wasn't the repairs that were expensive--it was the SHOP that was too expensive and playing me like I was an ATM. All Import Tech is fair and honest and does great work. The Honda I had repaired just returned from a 2,500 mile round trip drive and worked flawlessly! read more

If every firm in this city were able to provide the level of quality and Integrity with the personal attention that All Import Tech does, you'd be hard-pressed to make a choice and most likely not in need of this review.Unfortunately is not like that.Fortunately there is All Import Tech. The Tech out front is the Owner, Julio,an affable and professional young man with an impressive sense of business that makes you feel at home and with some one you can trust. This a family run business and it shows!. I was there with my wife,my son and his wife and we felt it was a very pleasant experience. To top things off we went to the cafeteria they have, where we tasted a fresh home made steak sandwich(Pan con Bistec} and learned much about Julio's history among customers that keep coming back after almost twenty years and the sweet smell of organic coffee they serve. After living in this town for more than thirty five years and having my share of cars shop horror stories,I have found my new car tech,is Julio and his family at All Import Tech. The impossible dream. A auto repair shop with personality, technical expertise, with excellent service, and above all, honesty. We live on a little island in the middle of the Gulf Of Mexico connected to Miami with bridges. Unable to find anyone on our island to replace rear shock absorbers on a BMW Z4, I reverted to the internet. I was directed to Yelp and came accross reviews of All Import Tech that painted Julio as a deity of mechanics with no equivocal or negative reviews. Iniatially I thought this was fiction patterned after the service provided by mechanics of 60 years ago . I called the number and Julio answered the phone. I described my problems and he made me an offer that I could not refuse. Despite the fact that I had already bought my shocks he quoted a price that I considered very reasonable. Even though he and his mechanics work on about 15 cars a day and have a schedule, he offered to service my car first thing in the morning on his next business day. We arrived, were met and greeted by he and part of his family, were serviced by he and his staff,and were on the road back to our island in a few hours having been satisfied with the work, and very happy with the prompt attention. He and his wife and other family members have opened a Cuban coffee shop in the same building , but you can wait in his air conditioned lounge in a comfortable chair with the availability of a clean bathroom if you would like. We chose to rent a car from Enterprise accross the street and explore the area as we did not need to tempt ourselves with calories at his coffee shop. WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE. The day started on the wrong side when my girlfriend refused to get on the palmetto to go to work because of the way her car was performing.With my guards up fearing I was going to get butchered, I decide to try All Import Tech for the first time. Afer filling out the general form, Julio stepped in the office. He identified himself very professionally and we started discussing how the car was running. At that moment I could tell he knew what he was doing and he has passion for what he does. After about an hour that we had left the shop, Julio called to give us a detailed report of what he had found wrong and the price to fix along with other suggestions. I totally gave him a "Go" since I felt so comfortable with the experience so far. Within the next three to four hours we received a call that the car was ready. To my surprise since he had quite a few cars on the lot! When I went to pay and pick up the car he showed me all the old parts, the new parts and we tested how it was now running. The car was totally different almost like new. I can tell you from my experience All Import Tech is a family owned and operated small business that gace me personalized honest service at a reasonable price and very timely. The reason for their success is that they know what they are doing, they have passion for what they do, they are honest and have excellent communication skills. What else can I say! Like I told Julio, I will be telling all my family and friends so they can give him a visit if they are not 100% satisfied with their current mechabic. This is the best car shop I have ever brought a car in for service. I am originally from Maryland and taking a car to a shop in Miami was the last thing I wanted to do. I have a 2004 Subaru Outback and it was having all types of engine trouble. The engine has almost 250,000 miles and I desperately needed it fixed but could not spend a lot of money to fix it. I read all the Yelp reviews on Julio and All Import Tech and thought at first it was too good to be true but I had to get my car fixed. First Julio only charges $40 to check out what the problem was and if you have the repairs done with him its a credit to your bill. Every other place was $100+. I thought everyone would tell me the engine is dying and I should just buy a new car. There could have been so many things wrong with the car. I dropped the car off and by the next day Julio called and told me he got it running perfectly with just a couple of parts. The total cost for parts and labor was under $300 and I still was skeptical and thought this repair would only last for a couple of weeks at best. I have held off writing my review until now two months later because the car is still running better than it has for a long long time. I was referred to this shop about 2 years ago by a friend & it was truly a God-sent ... I can't say enough good things about this place, its service & owners! Hands down the BEST mechanic I have ever entrusted w/my car! It's sad that nowadays most of us have to worry about taking our cars to get serviced because there are so many dishonest shops out there that are only interested in taking your $$$ ... Well not here! I've never felt so comfortable & relaxed about leaving my car at the shop because I know it's in good hands at All Import Tech, Julio & his team are AMAZING! Too bad the most you can give are 5 stars. Words cannot describe the gratitude I have for the honesty, professionalism and genuine concern extended to me by the owner of this exceptional repair shop. I am a single mom, full time student making ends meet on part time work. After bringing in my 2001 VW Cabrio for a fuel pump assembly replacement, Julio, the owner, gave me the terrible news that my car was not safe to drive and would be giving out on me at any moment. He showed genuine concern for me and my son because he knew the inevitable was about to happen and strongly recommended that I not drive the car any more. I had an older 1994 Honda with some electrical problems parked at home that I was trying to sell for some extra cash and Julio offered to fix it at no cost. Sure enough, the same day I took my VW out of the shop it did leave me stranded with my son at 930 at night. The following morning I had the Honda towed to All Import Tech and Julio kept his word. All Import Tech is the best!!! I was suggested by a fellow student, and as someone who is new to MIami, it was important for me to find a good mechanic. We drive so much here and I have an old car! Julio is an honest mechanic and I felt completely at ease (as a young single woman, I have been ripped off by mechanics before). He discussed my concerns and broke the repair process down for me part by part, and showed me the labour that would be needed. He told me that he could replace my O2 sensor (that was why my engine light was on), but that it was not necessary, and would only increase my fuel efficiency by a little bit. I really appreciated his honesty, because he could have taken advantage of my lack of knowledge to make me do a repair that I couldn't afford, in the name of keeping my car running. When it came for my oil change, he suggested that since my car is old, a high end synthetic oil will be wasted on it, and I appreciated his candor. Other mechanics have suggested I use the synthetic oil and I had no way of knowing that this was useless for my car. He was courteous and attentive and completely honest. 100% Excellent customer service. I am a customer for life! read more

If you know anyone you know looking for a good mechanic can be much more than stressful. I was referred to this shop not that long ago and I'm glad to have come across this shop. I walked in to change my brakes to come across that i needed a new set of rotors.(it was becoming a safety hazard) I was nervous on how much this would cost me and how long it would take. I was guaranteed to be out within 90 min and he was helpful to working something out with me. Julio and his crew are hands down the BEST in the business. Very welcoming, helpful, honest, and affordable. Julio goes out of his way to make sure you get what you need and his customers receive nothing but the best. He tells you exactly what you need and what needs to be done, what needs to be focused on and what you can hold off on. Most mechanics just want a run for your money, but not with them. I brought my car in for service after having moved into the area and perusing yelp for quality mechanic-- say no more! From the moment you step into their clean, and friendly confines, you are greeted with the utmost respect , sat down to hear your car's issues, and patiently, and not in a rush, diagnose and explain to you what your car needs and doesn't need. They were able to negotiate a good price for all of my car's issues-- for far more less than 60% of the competition's pricing! As your car is being serviced, they keep constant communication with you, and when your car is done, they discuss with you what they've fixed, the warranty the service and parts have, discuss payment plans, etc. This is done diligently, efficiently, and in no rush! The past 5 months have been awful, through 3 mechanics and an amount of wasted time and money I dont care to recall was spent by myself and an amazing person I'll call Mom. I am a single mother here alone in Miami, with a broken AC and a sweaty 2 year old and I literally cried with relief after meeting Julio, his amazing wife Aylene and sister in law Carmen, My mother was in town only to visit for the weekend. Based on the reviews here, we went and expected to be stuck for a few hours at least to wait. Julio found the problem IMMEDIATELY!! that no one else had figured out.Fair pricing and they get things done on time. No worries with these guys. I havent seen it reviewed but I have to mention the coffee shop there that Aylene and Carmen take care of. Great cup of coffee, sandwich or snack with fair prices.
