It seems that their familiar logo beckons in all of its bright yellow neon glory road-weary travelers, partying college kids, parents with kids in tow, hungry workers seeking a casual and quick sit-down meal and just about everyone else from every walk of life. Since Waffle House opened its first location back on September 5, 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia, it quickly established itself by offering a consistent selection of food and by being open twenty-four hours a day. For me, the biggest appeal of Waffle House has always been their hash browns, which you can get basic or topped with a variety of toppings such as chili, white sausage gravy, cheese, ham, onions and so many more items and you can combine these toppings in a multitude of ways. For my main course, I have usually gone with their patty melts or one of their egg breakfast options. I myself can see the strangeness that I have never had a waffle in a business where waffle is in their very name, but I prefer a more savory breakfast than a sweet one. If you are in the southeast United States, odds are you have probably passed a Waffle House location. It seems that they are on almost every major highway exit ramp and strategically placed throughout most cities and towns in the southeast. If you see one, give them a try.

However, I will leave my experience anyway. My family and I visited this store 03-07-2026 and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. This worker followed us so closely and for so long, she was literally running into us as we were perusing the aisles. She made no attempts to hide herself, nor did she apologize for her grotesque mannerisms and feeble attempts to "protect" store merchandise. Five Below in Daphne, AL.: There is NO MERCHANDISE in Five Below nor ANY other store for that matter, that would be worth us going to jail for STEALING! I am aware that theft protection is within the job description for those working in retail, however when this job requirement enforces stereotypical undertones, then is it conducive of a thriving business practice? This worker was a horrible, terrible, NO-GOOD reflection of a company that I would ever want to patron again. Moreover, I am willing to bet that any customers who have experienced similar treatment would say the same. This experience was so mind-blowing and disrespectful that I had to write this review so that ALL who even searched this location would be able to see it. Maybe, show her this review (because I am sure she is still employed) so that maybe in the future, she will become a better steward of the "friendly" store location you all hope to be one day.

There were two people in the back that were just talking, well one was working. She was just talking, all I can say is I was very surprised at how dirty it looked inside. I hadn't seen that in one of these stores before. I love the store and the things they offer at a great price!

It is convenient to both the locals who call Daphne, Alabama home and the travelers cruising down Interstate 10. The Fresh Market is a supermarket geared more towards a higher end experience, more of a food destination type foodie-driven kind of place and their prices reflect that (although they will run sales). The meat department is good, as is the deli. Their Market things have some items you might not find in supermarkets like Publix or Winn-Dixie. All in all, I would recommend a visit here.

Here in Alabama as a Hurricane Ida evacuee, I decided to buy some Rao's pasta sauce on sale. Yeah, I was making big mama spaghetti at the hotel lol. I like tomato basil as it's excellent for lasagna and penne pasta dishes. Bolognese, Italian sausage, mushroom & bell pepper and Italian sausage & mushroom are my favs. Haven't tried the vodka sauce yet but I will. I normally make my tomato sauce from scratch like in The Godfather but I was pressed for time lol. So, this store has a ton of organic and fresh food products. Their meat department has friendly employees willing to help you with any questions about the enormous display of meats & seafood and if you need need fresh cuts of meats, they got you. I love that they still have butchers in this supermarket. I also love that there's a mix of meats like crab cakes, stuffed pork chops, tempura shrimp, stuffed duck and salmon burgers. Oh and the deli is also desirous with all sorts of pre-made lunches and dinners. Everything looked so tantalizing The store is a bit pricey but I love the variety of foods offered and great quality items. Reminds me of Kings Supermarket in Garden City, NY. So, for the reason of my visit: Rao's was only $5.99 and I bought 20 jars...yeah, it's just that amazing plus it's like $9.00+ a jar at other local grocers. This is the only store that regularly has it for $5.99. Oh and I'm a tea connoisseur and they keep a large variety of that as well as coffee. Needless to say, I'm a new fan and currently visit the St. Charles' store regularly. Try them, you'll be hooked.

Since the three of us in our group aren't big eaters, we asked to split a portion of everything we ordered, and she didn't blink an eye. We started with the BBQ shrimp, which was fantastic! It's not a heavy, traditional BBQ flavor--it's more of a rich, New Orleans-style sauce. With six shrimp total, it was perfect for splitting, especially with the delicious bread served alongside it to soak up that amazing sauce. Nom!! Two of us split the wedge salad, and Brittany happily accommodated our special request for ranch instead of blue cheese. Our other friend had the kale salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. For the main course, the three of us split the filet mignon, which came with a dollop of mashed potatoes. The char on the steak was absolutely fabulous, and the potatoes paired with it perfectly! The restaurant is fairly dark and can get a bit noisy on busy nights, but we enjoyed our time immensely. Grand Marlin has private rooms and is easily the most high-end restaurant on Pensacola Beach. Our total was $178.00 before tip, which is well worth it. The attire ranges anywhere from dressy to beach casual, they have several great seating options for special occasions, and there's even a gift shop with some great finds. For anyone who remembers, this used to be the Boy on a Dolphin years ago. As an honorary Pensacolian since 1975, I consider myself a bit of an expert on all things Pensacola Beach--and you won't be disappointed here! Pro tip: Get a group photo by the bay before leaving. Even at night, it shows off those perfect Pensacola views.
