All Gods Creatures did a fantastic job working with penny in getting her groomed. The owner was more than patient with her and groomed her at the pace penny would allow. When we first walked in the owner let penny sniff around and meet the two friendly cats that call this place home. She did not have us leave until penny was calm. Our senior 15-1/2 year old Shitzu Roxy just received "another" great grooming from All God's Creatures. She was wagging her tail when we picked her up and was not stressed out! We are sooo blessed to have found this groomer. When other groomers turned her away because she couldn't stand well, these groomers accepted her with loving arms. They take their time with her as not to stress her out and she comes out looking great and smelling awesome. They do just what we ask and add the cute touches, like her top knot and cute bow. I don't know much about cutting dogs nails, I just knew I needed them shorter and filed - they worked with me to ensure I got what I wanted, since I didn't know all the technical terms for it (lol). If your dog is sensitive and not good with getting groomed be weary of coming here. They are usually great but when I came to get my dog groomed last month as she had matted fur on her legs and ears I got a call from the groomers stating that they gave my dog drugs to calm her down and they did this without my permission which I did not think that it was legal for a grooming place to even sedate dogs. I know my dog can be a handful as she was adopted from an abusive home and getting groomed terrifies her but that does not give the groomers permission to give my dog drugs. read more

I've been going to places like Petsmart and Petco for nail trimmings for years. It is always a stressful situation as my dog is easily overstimulated and these stores are typically teeming with dogs on the weekend. This is the first place that was completely sensitive to this issue. They cleared out the other dogs. Were quick about his nails and most importantly they DIDNT USE A MUZZLE, which stresses him out even more. Furthermore his nails look great and after a bunch of treats and new toys, he forgave me my betrayal. Great place. read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone. My mom had taken her dog to this place to get groomed and I was thinking of taking mine since it is five minutes from my house, however, after what happened to my moms dog I wouldn't dare take my dog or advise anyone else too. Everything was fine with the dog when she dropped him off, however, once we picked him up an brought him home he started chasing after his tail and pulling his hair out, leaving it bald and very red. Needless to say she ended up in the emergency vet spending $120 on the visit plus having to purchase a $40 spray so he wouldn't bite at it anymore. At the emergency vet they said that it was due to not getting all the soap out of his tail which caused him to bite and pull all this hair out. Needless to say when my mom called to let them know they wanted to put it back on the customer and not take the blame or at least apologize. Ever since this has happened you can best bet we have not been back. We now go to a different place that knows how to treat their customer's and have never had a problem with them grooming him. No more emergency vet's. IF you want to end up at one then go ahead and take your pet here, otherwise I would stay away. ****That's funny that now you all want to help, but when the issues happened you all turned your nose the other way. No thanks I don't need you to compensate me now. It took for me to have to write a review before you all decided to want to do something. As I stated they now what to resolve this, but when I contacted them the day it happened they wanted to put the blame back on me. Just be carefully if you do take your pet here as you may end up in the emergency vet like we did. As you can see the owner is still trying to blame the pet owner. My pet DOES NOT have fleas, as coming directly from the emergency vets mouth it was caused by not getting the soap all the way out. This time it happened to be about 90 minutes before all of my family arrived from out of town, for a pre-wedding luncheon at our place. I took my two cockapoos to this business because our normal groomer left her business, They had been going there for over three years. So I tried thid groomer. The facility is nice and clean and the staff was nice. My dogs have anxiety and can be difficult to groom at first until they get use to you. I did let them know this when I made the appointment. After they were groomed they quoted me an extra 25.00. I was shocked because I was not told this when I made the appointment. Therefore I objected to the price. They went a head and charged me the regular fee of 100.00 for the two dogs. I also left a 5.00 tip. I am not a rich person so this is what my budget could afford. My two fur babies are small 16 & 17 lbs. Not large at all. For some reason I expect a certain level of expertise to be able to handle something like this. I use to groom my cocker at home for 17 years. I am handicapped now and can no longer stand long enough, but I still manage to sit and groom my fur babies, it just takes a longer time, and this is without the professional equipment a professional has. I wanted to take them back, but was told by the groomer they would have to charge the extra 25.00. 125.00 plus tip is a lot. I guess they don't need the business. No one wants to put forth a little effort anymore to earn their money anymore. I will keep looking for that special groomer like I had before. These people definitely are not it. Totally money driven. UPDATE: Since I posted the last review, I decided to try this business again. I was in search of a new groomer therefore, I took my babies to several other groomers, thinking I would find a good one like I had before. I was wrong. I decided to give Jacqueline's another try. This week was the third time they have groomed them. The business has a new owner, and I feel she is easier to work with. My babies have anxiety, and do not like being groomed, but they do a good job. It's not perfect, but the more they work with them, I feel the better it will get. They also are kind enough to accommodate my schedule. They still charge the extra fees, but I am encouraged eventually the fees may be eliminated. read more

I absolutely LOVE the staff at Jacqueline's!!!!!!! I was a new puppy owner of a parti yorkie in November 2017 and I thought that pet grooming would be simple! I scheduled with PetSmart several times for grooming and each time Riley didn't get groomed because she was afraid of the clippers, afraid of the staff, just simply AFRAID! Each visit was a total EPIC FAIL. I got so desperate I called to a vet that would groom Riley under sedation per the recommendation of PetSmart. I called the specialty vet and declined the sedation grooming once the secretary stated the price would be $300.00. I grew sad, wondering if I really wanted to be a pet owner at this point. I met an older lady in Kroger who asked me why I looked so troubled and I shared with her my new puppy story. She stated that she had the perfect place for me to go as her daughter-in-a=law frequented Jacqueline's when she was in the area. I went home and placed a called to Jacqueline's immediately. Heather answered the phone and I began to give her my long story. Heather was so confident that Riley would do great there and to bring her in! I did!!! I just moved into the area and my poodle mix needed a full groom. I searched around for good reviews and decided on this place and I was quoted a starting price of $65. I was very specific in how I wanted the cut (same short length all over) whenever I dropped him off, and the woman supposedly wrote everything down. Whenever I picked him up several hours later, they had not cut him according to my instructions. They blamed it on miscommunication between the woman who I spoke with in the morning and the actual groomer. Then they told me my total was $75. Whenever I questioned to this, the groomer came out and told me that my dog was "bad" and then she chuckled, like she was making her statement "cute" in some way. She explained that every time they had tempted to cut on his legs that he would yelp and yodel out like he was crying in pain. Now, my dog is 4 years old and has been going to the groomer consistently his entire life. Every other groomer has said what an amazing dog that he is so naturally I was shocked at her statement. Whether the groomer got his skin with the clippers and scared him, or they were rough and made him scared, or were just flat out lying, I will never know. I paid the extra $10 and took him home. Shortly after I got home, I realized that his muzzle still looked dirty and I leaned down and gave him a sniff and it became very obvious that they did not even bother to bathe him. I paid for a full groom, which includes nail clipping, bath, hair cut, and sometimes a few other things. I feel very strongly that they were just trying to wheedle more money out of me and cut corners. They did not bathe him, they did not cut him like I asked, and they found a way to get an extra $10 out of me by claiming that he had bad behavior. This is unacceptable. Do not go here. read more

I have two Yorkshire Terrier that I have rescue from a family in NC today. Did a search for dog grooming in all hampton roads area and on my way home saw the grooming sign on at Jacquelines. After explaining the staff my situation, they proceed to wash my dogs and they looked beautiful. Jacqueline, you have an amazing staff! My dog comes here on occasion. They are always super friendly when I come in and they seem to love my dog which is the most important factor. The only thing I would say is their hours and days of operation isn't the most convenient. Also, I wish they would have some better smelling cologne for male dogs but overall I like the service. My dog is black too, sometimes when I leave here he has white flakes on him. Overall, good service and I've never had an employee come off as rude. read more

I have used this service many times. Always did a good job. On my last visit, they charged me an extra $10 ($60 total), because she said she found a flea. I have never seen a flea on my baby. She is on flea solutions and brushed every day!! The girl was not that nice about it. With all the other animals in there, how in the world can they say it is not from them. And why charge $10. What did they do with the flea? I should have asked to see the darn thing, I do not even know if it was true. I called the salon when I got home to speak to the owner, but she was not available. They said she would return my call but never did. I will not be going back. Since posting my review, I have received a call from one of the owners. Unfortunately, she never received the message to call me. She was very apologetic and even offered to refund payment. Good to know that the girl at the counter is no longer with them. We recently moved abroad and are awaiting our two dogs to be sent to us. A very good friend has been taking care of them for us and brought them to Jacquelines' for their grooming apt. Our friend informed us that one of our dogs' nails were cut so short that she was bleeding and it required her to take our dog to the vet for treatment. When our friend called the store later the same day she was told by whoever answered the phone that they knew nothing about it and that she should take the dog to the vet because it would not stop bleeding; which she did. I is very difficult for me to understand that the staff is so incompetent that they would not notice a bleeding paw. However based on the events, I conclude that either they are incompetent or they don't care! Good money was paid for the grooming appointment which resulted in pain and anger. And who pays for the vet bill caused by the store? Our dogs have been groomed for some time at the this store and they know how particular we are about our dogs, as any owner is! Time and time again we have had issues with the store and this just made it worse. We are extremely upset and disappointed in the way this was handled. Knowingly returning our dog with a bleeding paw and later on the phone lying about it. In the first sentence of their website it states "You will find we have gone to great lengths to provide our canine and feline guests with a clean and safe environment. We turn a routine chore into a fun experience for your pet." This is difficult to digest considering what we just experienced. I doubt that this was a safe and fun experience for our dog!!! The ladies at Jacqueline's Posh Wash are always cheerful and they take good care of my dog. Jacqueline seems to have a loyal customer base from people such as myself who find her to be consistent with the service and great with the animals. I met Jacqueline several years ago when she worked for the veterinary hospital, and have followed to patronize her new business venture. Also, I always find Lauren to be pleasant and willing to accommodate unusual situations I may have with appointment or pickup times. I read one of the negative reviews, and not at all trying to refute the customer, but personally find it hard to believe that their dog received this kind of treatment and the staff reacted in this manner. I have never had any problems whatsoever, and every time I go in there, all of the other customers seem to be happy with no issues. read more
