An all-yearlong nightmare with ALL GERMAN AUTO on Simpson Way SM. I initially took Our E320 Mercedes sedan to All German Auto because the vehicle showed multiple check engine light codes PO: 302, 304, 306, 300 and PO715. Before taking the vehicle to All German Auto oxygen sensor "s" had been changed and all the spark plugs but the codes came coming up. The vehicle also experienced rough riding and a lack of power. I took the Mercedes to All German Auto because Exclusive Auto an excellent auto shop had closed its doors and one of the owners started working at All German Auto. I had informed Dan the service adjuster that all of the back sensors had been replaced but the codes were not cleared. All German Auto said they replaced two oxygen sensors (not needed had been replaced) at a cost of $807.42 The "passenger brake light" was presumably replaced at a cost of $378.00 according to All German Auto. We picked up the Mercedes and right away we noticed that the light panel was never replaced and the problem with the loss of power had persisted. It was apparent that the problem was not the oxygen sensors. At this point we needed the vehicle to be fixed and I contacted All German Auto and asked that the Mechanic Mr. Carpenter work on the Mercedes. I asked that the cause of the check engine light be examined further and the brake light be fixed since it was not fixed. I had just paid $1,237.74 for these two things that were not fixed. Dan Reeves called me back a few weeks later and told me that it wasn't anything major and they were going to do some maintenance. Some transmission conductor plate or so and that should fix the problem. At a cost of $1,4010.00. After hearing this I agreed to have the oil leak fixed at a total additional cost of $3,506.16 The Mercedes Sedan was in the shop for on or about 2 or 1 2/2 months. I never heard back until I called the shop I asked Dan Reeves if the Mercedes was fixed and he confidently told me it was all fixed. I went to pick up the Mercedes I kindly thanked Dan Reeves and asked him not once but twice if it was all fixed and ready to safely drive since I had just gone through a traumatic event. I specifically asked Dan Reeves, "Is it safe to drive on the freeway" Dan Reeves stated, "It is perfectly safe to drive on the freeway." I paid Dan Reeves ( I believe the total was over $5,300 or so in addition) Dan handed me the invoice with the keys. As I am walking out Dan says, "Oh sometime in the future you may want to have the catalytic converter checked." This was the first time I had heard about a problem with the catalytic converter. I said, "Oh ok do you think it will pass smog inspection now?" Dan said, "Sure with confidence." I thanked Dan once again got in the Mercedes and left. The Mercedes drove fine for about three miles until I got onto the freeway on the ramp and then the power went from 60-0 miles per hour in the middle of the 78 freeway. I was fortunate to glide over to almost the side of the road. I called Dan and calmly said, "Dan the Mercedes stalled in the middle of the freeway zero power. Dan told me he was going to send a mechanic over. I picked up my phone again and called AAA towing. After 15 minutes All German Auto Daniel Reyes shows up and he said, "We told Dan (mechanics) the vehicle was not safe to drive it needed a catalytic converter." Daniel Reyes asked me to have the vehicle towed back to All German Auto and they would fix the vehicle. I had to get the vehicle off the freeway and I had it towed to All German Auto. I got a ride back home and on the way home called Warner Muffler and made arrangement to have AAA tow the vehicle to Warner Muffler from the All German Auto Shop. I went back to All German Auto and calmly told Dan I was going to have the Mercedes towed to Warren Muffler. Dan said, "Oh its fixed you can drive it now you don't need to tow it." I just walked way and waited outside for the AAA tow truck. I picked up the Mercedes from Warner a few days later I drove it twice and notice that the vehicle was leaking oil and the brake light was not fixed. I called Dan Reeves and said, "Dan the Mercedes is leaking oil the oil leak was not fixed and neither was the break light. The reality of what actually happened is that the Mercedes was given to an apprentice mechanic to play with. Warner told me All German Auto messed up my catalytic converter they tried to remove it. The initial and ONLY problem with the Mercedes and the faulty codes was due to the faulty catalytic converter. Dan never mentioned this to me until after I was walking away when I went to pick up the Mercedes. All in all, I was scammed for on or about $12,500 by All German Auto. read more

This place charged me $212 to tell me I am right about what part need to be replaced and quoted me $1500 to fix it. I made one call to another mechanic who told me BMW warranties that part for 150,000 miles and will fix it for free. These people are either thieves or incompetent. read more

I bring all my Mercedes to All German Auto for many years now. Dan, who is the manager there, is awesome. He is very professional and transparent with the service or repair and provides practical advice. I have him on my speed dial. I will admit that they are not the cheapest independent repair shop however they are often less than what it cost to bring the vehicle to the dealership. The service is on par what you get from the dealerships and I personally think it's better. If you need your German vehicle to be serviced give Dan a call. They do everything and their mechanics are very well versed with them - from regular service maintenance to downright under the hood repairs. They also use original manufacturer parts or OEM. read more

My emergency blinkers wouldn't turn off even with the engine off and was a bit weird driving down the freeway to get them fixed. All German Auto as usual fixed that annoyance asap ... they fixed my door locks and radio that mysteriously acted up too. After 16 years, it's awesome to have that reliability in a company. read more

Worked with Chance and Dan to repair an oil leak on my 2007 Mercedes E63. They test drove car and said oil leak was repaired. My wife drove the car after the repair and said a loud ticking noise was coming from the engine. I checked the engine oil level and found it was 5 quarts low. I'm call Chance and Dan tomorrow to confirm if we have a new leak or the oil was not filled after the repair. I see no mention of an oil fill or purchase of oil on the repair order. Stay tuned... Issue resolved. There was an unexpected personal issue in the shop that disrupted the normal QA process. Chance and Dan worked together to check the engine in detail. A compression check was performed and the engine oil and filter inspected. There was no engine damage due to the short miles we drove with low oil and the very robust E63 AMG engine. A faulty engine oil level sensor prevented a low engine oil warning. This sensor was replaced. No charge to me for the compression test labor and all new spark plugs. All good now. read more

My initial experience with All German Auto was in 2017. I needed the valve seals replaced on a 2007 BMW 750Li; exhaust was smoking and at 120k miles it was clear as to the problem. Dealer quoted $12k to repair. Another independent shop in San Diego quoted $6k to repair. Someone mentioned that All German Auto had created a set of tools to replace the seals from the top; ingenious. That person also told me "they're the best BMW shop in the country, and you're within two hours of them? Go there!!" So I did. Perfect repair; cost was under $2,500, with exceptional clarity of communication, genuine interest in talking to me about the details, work completed on time. Subsequent experience with other cars of mine over the last six years has been uniformly good. I can't say enough good things about All German Auto, and I most strongly recommend them. read more
