She was nice, professional and put many of our worries immediately at ease. Once we signed our contract and began working with her, there were several red flags. Communication was challenging and her e-mail system was not user-friendly. Phone calls were not returned, one vendor was never even contacted by her during the vendor contact phase. As she was to be our day-of wedding coordinator (not our wedding planner), clear communication was a must. But during our final walk-through, Mila did not take a single note to ensure that our many months of wedding planning would be carried out, the very thing we hired her for. Sadly, this lack of attention to detail became increasingly apparent and it appeared that Mila was in over her head. At our wedding rehearsal, Mila presented herself as rushed -- never introduced herself to our families and bridal party to establish any kind of rapport, immediately questioned our wishes and plans for the processional and ignored requests for clarity. The room was in chaos, everyone overwhelmed and confused. Worst of all were her derogatory remarks directed at members of our family. Thankfully, we had our amazing officiant (Matt Morgan Weddings & Coaching) present who literally took over the entire rehearsal as Mila sat back and watched. We tried to hold ourselves in keep-calm-and-carry-on mode. On our wedding day, Mila placed most of our table and decorative items correctly although several mistakes were made even though specific written instructions were provided and all items were boxed and labeled. Mistakes will always be made, we never expected everything to be perfect. What was hard was that when Mila was asked to make the necessary changes she did so grudgingly. During our grand entrance, to have been facilitated by Mila, things were once again chaos. The children didn't know what was going on which left some in tears. During our reception, Mila made distasteful comments to family and friends. Several items at the end of the night were not packed as agreed upon by Mila and some were left at the hotel with their whereabouts unknown. Although our family was able to retrieve the centerpiece vases and flowers from the trash, some were already thrown away, like our beautiful backdrop flowers, others we discovered the next day. Mila had instructions that my parents would take most, if not all, of the flowers that night for our post-wedding brunch. One glass piece was broken and nobody was told about it although a family member heard and saw it happen. Mila did not dress/present herself in a professional manner at either our rehearsal or on our wedding day despite the setting and formal attire of our guests. It is with great sadness we write a review like this about someone we chose to be a part of one of the most special and happy days of our lives. But we depended heavily on other couples' reviews of vendors and we are contributing our review because we want to help other future newlyweds avoid these same issues. The negative experiences we had with Mila were more than compensated for by all the other amazing vendors we chose, thankfully. We truly hope that deep down Mila knows what she did, how she made people feel, and where she can grow. Lastly, we thank Mila for what she did do well.

I cannot thank her enough for helping to make our wedding ceremony and reception a perfect and memorable event. Our wedding was beautiful, enchanting and everything I dreamed it would be, it was stunning! Hillary helped make my dream wedding come true! Their venue is the most perfect place to have a wedding. The prices were affordable, but the quality was priceless. We have gotten so many compliments from friends and family that this was the best wedding they've ever attended. Thank you for an incredible day! We couldn't be more pleased with our experience. I am so glad I chose Morningside Manor as the place for my wedding and reception. It was PERFECT!! I was in a wedding here last weekend, and it's a pretty cute little place. The gardens around it…read moreare perfect for wedding ceremonies, and there are 3 or 4 gazebos to choose from. The inside is definitely very victorian, and though it's not quite my style, it's pretty and nice. There are two rooms upstairs for the bride and groom to get ready in, downstairs has a kitchen for caterers, a buffet hall area, several sitting areas, and a large room for dancing and setting up tables in. There's also a small deck off of the large room where several more tables can be set up. It made a great spot for the wedding, and I think it would be good for any smaller sized gathering (I wouldn't put more than 100 people in it probably). It's located right next to Das Meyer Bakery as well (same owners I think).

I called Jolene at 2pm on the day of my November evening event. It was super cold out and I needed…read moreheaters and blankets to make an important meeting comfortable. I deal with a lot of vendors and I knew my same-day request (on a Saturday no less) would probably be met with cranky "not possible in the timeline" responses. Instead, I met Jolene on the other end of the phone. What a warm and positive person! She immediately took on my problems with grace and alacrity. She not only solved the heaters and blanket asks but also added so many details that I would never have thought of. Baskets to hold the blankets. Blankets tied with twine. Additional black napkins in case someone was wearing a dark outfit. Found local wines and beers. Just extremely thoughtful in everything she did. My event was not big or expensive. I'm from out of town so I'm probably not a repeat client (wish I could be!). And I had a very last minute weekend request. And Jolene pulled through 110%. I would trust her to plan just about anything. You'll be in the best hands.
