I called to see if they had any vacancies for boarding two English Mastiffs two months prior to when we needed it. The lady asked their size and I told her how tall they were and what they weighed. She then went on to tell me what they have to offer in the way of kennels, daycare, etc... and asked me to make an appointment to come out so she could meet the dogs, and for us to view the facilities. The appointment was set for a couple of days later, on a Saturday. Come the day of the appointment, our GPS was sending us in the wrong direction, so I called to get better directions. We were less than 5 minutes from the location, and when we arrived, I called again, and she told me we were early (maybe 10 minutes...). We sat outside the gate for ten minutes before the gate was opened. We walked into the small office to meet with her, and she asked if we had brought the dogs with us. We had been hesitant to bring them inside the small building since they are large ( approx. 160 and 190 lbs). We brought them inside, and they began to sniff and walk around. We could sense she was a little afraid of them, but she did attempt to touch them. They barked at her; and their bark can be intimidating. The office was really small, and when you have three adults and two large dogs in a small space, they probably started feeling threatened because they could not see the door. She told us that she recently hired a few new employees, and they had not been fully trained. In short, she would not be able to accept them. This was fine with us, because we did not feel comfortable there ourselves, and the last thing you want to do when you are on vacation is worry about your pets kennel situation. We felt like this entire ordeal was a waste of our time; she knew the day we called how large the dogs were, and how untrained her staff was. read more

I was absolutely blown away by this alternative to traditional pet boarding!! The owner, Shelley, operates her "resort" on the land behind her own home. She has these great air-conditioned cottages (fancy doghouses) each with a small covered deck and individual yard. I have large dogs and the cottages/yard areas are large enough to hold all three together--MAJOR plus if you have an anxious pet. I was anxious about boarding my pets for the first time, but because it is a small "home-grown" facility I felt assured that they would get the personalized care they deserve. read more

I haven't even picked up my dogs yet and I feel this is the WORST experience I have ever been through. I went to this place because of all of the good reviews, but I have no idea where everyone got the idea that this is a good place to do business. I was flying out of town starting on a Wednesday before Labor Day weekend. I was to drop my dogs off that morning and leave from work to go to the airport. When I made the reservation, I stated I was going to be coming back on Monday which is Labor Day. "We aren't open on Labor Day." Okay. Well I had to be back to work in Temple on Tuesday and I live in Killeen. My husband is deployed. Could I pick up the dogs after work Tuesday? "Well charge you for 1/2 a day". That ticked me off first of all. I clearly am on my own trying to make it work. This is a person who works out of their home - you would think would try to work something out a little bit more. But I said okay fine, I will literally drive an hour and a half out of my way to pick up the dogs and bring them home so that I don't tack on to the already high bill. When I dropped them off there was no hello, nothing. Just a weird look like "what are you doing here?" I had to state I was dropping them off - didn't even seem like she was expecting me at all even though I had to fill out extensive paperwork about them and email it to her prior for the reservation. I wasn't shown where they would be staying, wasn't really told anything - not even bye. That left me feeling uncomfortable about where my dogs were gonna be staying for 6 days. I got an unexpected phone call from the police in killeen stating my house had been broken into while I was gone. The people that broke in took almost everything including my weapons. I called her on Sunday explaining the situation and requesting that I pay for the half a day on Sunday plus the other days since Wednesday and have my friend pick up the dogs so I didn't have to stay Monday by myself (since I'm flying back Monday and I can't pick them up since they're closed). She said no, that I'd have to pay for the full time anyway. It's just so sad. That 60 extra dollars was more important to her than repeat business from me. I will be spreading the word to everyone I know and never going back again. read more

My dog boarded there in April, it seemed like he enjoyed it. We started him in playgroup on Tuesdays and after a few weeks went to Tuesdays & Thursdays. She has lots of land for him to run & play & because he's so high energy we thought this place was a god send & really liked Shelley. After awhile we started getting reports of him misbehaving & what she was telling us he was "fence fighting" w/ the dogs who were boarding. It seemed like the reports of misbehavior were getting more & more and we were quite confused because we take him to the public dog parks with other dogs barking at him though the other side of the fence and that doesn't happen, nor at home w/ the neighbor dogs. However when we would pick him up and he had scratches and once even a bite we would get no explanation, one time even asking for the videos to be reviewed and a few days later I get a text saying she found nothing on the videos. But if its 8 hours of Supervised play, how was an incidence resulting in a bite missed? Nevertheless, Scared it may be some behavior we are overlooking I asked Shelley about training because I seen she markets for training on the website. We agreed to 15 min daily training sessions at each playgroup day. So instead of $15 daily it was $25. After a few weeks we noticed no difference and my husband told me not to prepay anymore because he didn't believe she was doing it. We would ask about the training and not get too much of a response on how it was going. I started noticing at drop off my dog seemed scared to go. Then on Thursday Nov 29th. my husband picked up our dog. He seemed off a little and my normally high energy, happy pup sat on the couch with his head hung low for hours before he just fell asleep. His behavior was strange but we just figured he was tired of playing the whole day. Sunday Dec. 2nd I was contacted by an employee who stated to us that our dog was being mistreated that's why he seems scared of her because he was. She is not a certified trainer and none of the employees are either and never once that she worked did she see her work with him training wise. The employee also told me of an incident of her threatening to muzzle my dog while he was in her care, she also forwarded me these text messages between them. I'm so disappointed in this place. I payed for services not rendered and would never trust my dog in their care ever! read more

The concept is fantastic, with individual air-conditioned cottages. We did feel like the owner is more of a 'dog person' rather than a 'people person' or 'business person'. But the dogs seemed healthy and happy when we picked them up after five nights with her. The cottages are at the owners' home. read more

I saw this place online and it looked like the next best thing to home, and the closest and best option for Salado. Well, don't judge a book by it's cover. I called, talked to the owner, Shelley, (who is not the warmest person) and asked her some questions like any good pet parent would do. I have a pet-sitting business of my own, and I'm a member of the media, so a friendly, welcoming voice is always the #1 rule when you have new clients. She answered some of my questions, but told me she was out with the dogs and needed me to send an email. My boyfriend and I thought about it, and based on all other alternatives, decided to go for it, and I sent a very thorough, polite and professional email (after hours) about our dog and his stay at All Dogs Resort. In my email I asked what the next step was to confirm the reservation. The next morning, I had not heard back, so I sent a follow up email (that I'm still awaiting a reply to). On my own, I found the online forms that apparently are required to be completed and sent back before the reservation is confirmed (which had not been disclosed via my phone call). Several hours later, and still no response, I called my vet to go ahead and send over our pet's vet records. Finally, about an hour before the facility closed, my boyfriend called and talked to the owner..... apparently she had already given that room to another customer. WHAT? HOW? WHEN? WHY? So I called, and was very polite but very confused. "You asked me to send an email because you were busy.... which I did..... and then another email, and another and pet forms, vet records and another email, and then we both called...." She didn't have a response. She just said blatantly that she gave the room to someone. I had sent my email too late, and she didn't get it until the next morning. SO SHE JUST WASN'T GOING TO RESPOND? Five emails (per your request), and you don't even have the courtesy to tell me you gave away the room that we obviously wanted to reserve? It was pretty clear that she would have been receiving new business from folks who travel up and down 1-35 quite a bit. Now all she is getting is a negative review from a media personality. No need to say, she won't be receiving any new business from me or any of my clients or my vet's. Proper business practices and relationship building are clearly not her strong suites. read more

Amazing! We took our german shorthaired pointer, Bravo, to board here for a few days. We brought his own food from home and some toys to put in "his yard". He got his own cottage with a dog door and yard. I called to check on him after a few days and got a full report on his activities and play with the other dogs. She even posted a video of him running around with the other big dogs in their very-large common off-leash area. Bravo is normally very active with a tank 100% full of energy all the time. After we picked him up from All Dogs Resort, he was calm and took plenty of naps for several days! I am certain this means he enjoyed every minute of his stay. We will be taking him back soon. Update: I have moved to Austin but I still bring my dogs to All Dogs Resort when I need to board them. They are very comfortable there and I know they will be getting the best care available. They are not in a kennel with concrete on the floor and taken out at specific times; they can use the doggie door in the cottage and cool off in the pools and pond. Shelley Hesse is still the best dog handler I know. She loves and understands the dogs, is out with them most of the day, and keeps the fields clean. My dogs run to her when I bring them in the office so I know she is kind to my kids. Get to know her and you will see what an amazing person she is. Did you know she has a large fenced area for new dogs so they can watch the others, adding 1 dog at a time to the area so the newbie does not feel overwhelmed? That 's caring. I'd rather have a dog person taking care of my kids than a people person anyday. read more

There is something extremely fishy about this place. When we went out to fill out the paper work the owner said we couldn't view the cottage that our dogs were to stay in because other dogs were being boarded in it and that it was a safety issue. Sounded reasonable. A few days later my husband took the dogs out there to drop them off while I finished packing for the trip. The owner still wouldn't let him see the cottage in which they were supposed to be staying. He left hem any way. On our way out I suggested that we run some of their toys out to them. When we got there, she wouldn't answer the door so I called her. She still would not let us view the cottage or visit our dogs. We were desperate to get on the road or I would have taken them somewhere else by then. When we picked our dogs up, the owner still refused to let us see the cottage and refused to let us retrieve our dogs insisting that we wait in the office while someone brought them to us. Also, we took just enough food for them to eat while we were gone but there was not hardly any food missing out of the bag when we got it back. Their toys were still in the original bag that we had sent them in. We had washed the toys before we took them and it was apparent they hadn't been touched. Why would the owner not let us tour the facility? Are the conditions deplorable? Are they housing more dogs than what is stated in each cottage? Did we pay for an 8 foot cottage and receive a 4 foot cottage? Is there really air conditioning and music playing? Were our dogs able to stay together? Why is my youngest Boxer acting crazy when we picked him up? Why is my Great Dane sun burnt? We will not be going back there ever! I would definitely beware!!! read more
