Kave told me that even though the symptoms were on the left, the problem was in my right leg. That sounded odd to me, but after she focused her massage efforts on several seemingly random locations (but it was clear she wasn't guessing and knew exactly how to find them), over several sessions my symptoms lessened. She said that it would take seven sessions, after which improvement would continue for a couple of weeks, and that I should be symptom-free for at least seven months. She was spot on; a couple of weeks after my last session I was all better, and I didn't start getting a sore hamstring for 9 months; time to see her again. It might be worth mentioning that before seeing Kave I had been to a physical therapist at Kaiser who gave me various exercises; they didn't help.

I agreed, but clearly replied that I needed to leave by 10:50. They read the message. I arrived around 9:52 AM and found the door locked. The business hours posted said they open at 10 AM, so I thought it was odd that I was able to schedule an appointment before opening. After waiting a few minutes, someone let me in. I got into the massage room around 9:58 and then waited another few minutes before the massage started. At that point, I could already tell things were running behind. To be fair, the massage itself was excellent. She did a great job, and I genuinely enjoyed the service. I kept trying not to stress about the time because I had already communicated my schedule and assumed it would be honored. Unfortunately, when the massage ended and I checked the time, it was 11:05 AM. I was now late for my meeting. What made it more frustrating was that I had specifically communicated my timing needs ahead of time. Another thing I found a little unusual was paying for the service upfront. Tipping is done afterward through Venmo, cash, or card. When I told her I would Venmo the tip as soon as I had internet service again (you know how Palo Alto can be), she seemed concerned and appeared to want me to stay until it was completed. Normally that wouldn't be an issue, but I was already running late and had to rush home. Overall, this was a mixed experience. The massage itself was very good, and that is the reason I would consider coming back. I just wish there had been better communication and more effort to respect the timing request that I clearly communicated in advance.
