Saigon Spa is a beautiful spa clinic. It has a calm atmosphere from entry and is very clean as I…read morewould expect from a a fancy Spa resort. The rooms temperature was comfortable and the blankets were soft and warm. My main review is for Sara who provided a 60 minute deep tissue massage that exceeded my expectations! Now, she isn't going to be everybody's cup of tea, especially if you're expecting a relaxing pampering massage to fall asleep. I appreciate that type of massage, but this time I came in with acute back pain. She honed in and went right to it. Honestly, at first it seemed rougher, but it was clear her expertise provided the relief I needed. I did not even mention any other pain points but as she worked, she identified three other pain areas that I've been dealing with for months. That's how I knew she has a keen understanding of how the body should move and feel, and the skill to guide my muscles/fascia back to where they should be to be able to function properly and without pain. She adjusted her technique as she felt my body could tolerate (e.g. she threw in some Thai massage technique to lengthen and stretch at the end). After 60 minutes, my pain levels reduced significantly from 7/10 to 2/10. I couldn't believe it! My heel pain of six months was gone! She is one of two therapists I've had in my life that actually healed my body's aches. If you want to be rejuvenated, I highly recommend Sara at Saigon Spa!

After Kave's treatment, my entire body felt great and, specifically, my shoulders and neck felt warm, loose, and flexible again. Kave gave me advice for at-home continuing care, which I will follow, but I will also be happy to go to her again for more massage therapy. Note the new location for Amylgama Massage: 317 State Street in Los Altos. The entry for the massage studio is not in the warren of offices the surrounds Fiesta Vallarta but on the parking plaza between Main and State Streets. I looked all around those offices before I found the right place on the plaza :)

I had an odd problem of an aching upper left leg/hip along with an uneven foot strike (like my left leg was slightly shorter), and a persistently sore hamstring. Kave told me that even though the symptoms were on the left, the problem was in my right leg. That sounded odd to me, but after she focused her massage efforts on several seemingly random locations (but it was clear she wasn't guessing and knew exactly how to find them), over several sessions my symptoms lessened. She said that it would take seven sessions, after which improvement would continue for a couple of weeks, and that I should be symptom-free for at least seven months. She was spot on; a couple of weeks after my last session I was all better, and I didn't start getting a sore hamstring for 9 months; time to see her again. It might be worth mentioning that before seeing Kave I had been to a physical therapist at Kaiser who gave me various exercises; they didn't help.

Got a one hour deep tissue massage which consisted of strong pressure as expected, along with fast movements almost the entire time. My masseuse, Cindy, was working hard with all of the rapid movement, so much that she was out of breath with this unique approach. Some may consider it rough, but my muscles can take a beating so I was fine with it even with a little pain in the process. I particularly enjoyed the leg and foot massage which focused on the outer leg and pressure points on the foot. It was effective for me. The face hole on the massage bed was slightly uncomfortable, and the temperature in the room was a bit cold with the AC running strong on a not-so-hot day, but I hung in there. I liked the music playing in the background, a combination of classical tunes and instrumental renditions of songs like Hallelujah and Ghost by Justin Bieber. Paying at the end via credit card, with a cash tip, was straightforward without any problems.

First, I was made to wait outside and then let in asked to wait for 20 mins in the room while the therapist chatted away at the desk. It was too late for me, so I raised the issue and the therapist rudely said "go" to me. Never has such unprofessional and rude customer service. Businesses that dont respect and value customer time are just not worth it.

However she's also super chatty and likes to vent about politics, her life, etc during the session, which can make for a super draining and exhausting massage. This was enough to outweigh the good for me personally, and made me leave to search for a better fit for me personally. I saw Stacey a while ago (I'm way behind on my Yelp reviews) for therapeutic massage. PROS: Stacey is clearly a super talented massage therapist who is passionate about her work and her business. I was impressed by her intuition for the human body, her use of massage techniques and tools that I had never seen before but that had a huge therapeutic payoff, and her creativity in approaching massage problem-solving. I noticed a big and tangible difference in my body post-session. CONS: Stacey is definitely a talker and is super chatty, whether or not you feel like talking during your session. I'm more used to massage therapists who have quiet sessions, ask the clients whether or not they want to talk or would like a quiet session, or are better at picking up at signals as to whether or not a client wants to be talking, and letting the client lead whether or not there is conversation during the session. She definitely spent some time venting to me about politics, her life, her partner, etc -- all the venting can make for a super draining and exhausting massage. I found this unprofessional and inappropriate to vent to a client during their session - which is supposed to be entirely about the client and the client's needs, not a therapist's need to talk and to vent to a captive audience (the immobile client). I found the session vibe to be negative at times (not what you want for an expensive massage!) and unpleasant and draining and exhausting. This was enough to outweigh the good for me personally, because I had a hard time going back to work afterwards because I was so drained and exhausted. So it made me leave to search for a better fit for me personally. Stacey's definitely a super talented massage therapist though, with such tangible improvements to clients' bodies -- so if she became more aware of the fact that clients don't want to be vented at during their massage session and that clients may not want to talk during their massage session, she could definitely become a 5-star massage therapist.
