Requested bids and designs to remove all the grass in the backyard, install sitting walls around trees with flag stone steps and zero scape setting. The rabbits and voles wreaked havoc in our backyard. We've had to replace our lawn twice. Jeff with Rock Solid Landscaping responded. We agreed to meet and walk the yard. We wanted 3 mounds with larger rocks around with native plants. The crew started everyday at 7am and worked until 4pm. They were always on time and worked a full day. This job was completed in 2 weeks. They delivered a porta potty, bobcat in front of our home. They put cones for safety. They were getting rid of remnants at a reduced price and since natural grass seems to be unsustainable in my yard, we opted on getting some turf to beautify the area and give some texture to my desert looking yard. Before heading to the turf depot, we did our due diligence at Home Depot and Lowe's, and for the size and quality we got at the Turf Depot, we would have paid 3 times as much at the big chain retailers. My first interaction with the paver Company had a rocky start. I won't go into the details however…read morethe person that they sent out first, no longer works at the company. Rob, one of the three executives from the paver Company reached out to me and personally took care of me. Rob Turned this into an excellent experience. Moving forward: I was contacted by a representatives to set up an appointment. His name was Ken Jackson. He arrived promptly at the appointment time and asked me quite a few questions about what I was looking to have done. I told him I wanted to divide the project into three parts. Pavers for my front patio somewhere around 1000 ft.² for the first part. Then replace the cement pad going into the garage and extend the parking area with pavers. Finally if within budget, decompose granite Drive way for my drive-through area. If the price was out of my range, I would prioritize each section. I also let him know that I have five kids and probably since it's in the front of the house, the pavers might be driven on, so best to have the whole project done to take the weight of a vehicle. Finally added on some bullnose steps and lighting for the porch. Ken set about doing all of the measurements. He brought out quite a few sample stones to fit what we needed. We went with a cobblestone mix with sandstone. And a dark gray trim. Ken returned after three days with a quote that was a little bit out of my price range. This is to be expected. When getting bids, we do not know what the market bears. We don't know the profit margin, we basically want pavers and are kinda at the mercy of the sales people. The best thing I can recommend here is get your budget and if you can get everything you want within your budget, don't worry about if you can save a few dollars here or there. I have gone through the Bid process with so many different companies. Window replacement, gutters, new furnace, new water heater, new roof, new water softener, new deck, new kitchen cabinets, new sink, full exterior house paint, and garage door replacement. If you are doing renovation, get plenty of bids. If a salesman is pushy or tells you you have a limited time to get the special... don't be pressured. Just walk away. Inform their superiors if you feel they are out of line. Do research and compare apples to apples. All of this being said, if you want some pavers, I would recommend you giving these guys a shot because they really did a good job presenting high-quality paver experience. Though they are definitely not the least expensive. I would trust them to do the work if I can find a way to pay for it lol

We signed a contract with a company in February 2025 to have a large, and not so straightforward…read moreAlumawood pergola built. After a year of delays and excuses, the contractor filed for bankruptcy and left us with the footers and framing completed but nothing else. Thankfully, most of the materials were on site with the exception of our lattice tubes. We checked around with several different contractors and felt like they were either trying to price gouge us or didn't have the skill to complete the project at a high level. Then, we contacted Cody at Padgett and Sons. Cody was quick to come out and assess the status of the project and to figure out what materials were needed to complete it. It was clear Cody wanted to make things right for us, so he offered to finish the job at a reasonable cost and was transparent on what the process would entail. We had no hesitation or concern that it wouldn't be completed to the standard we wanted. Even before signing contract, Karan got to work contacting the city to figure out what would be required to get the project completed. Unfortunately, it required cancellation of the existing building permit under the old contractor and applying for a new one. Cody was quick to get the new building plans put together and submitted. Once the plans were approved, Cody sent out a very knowledgeable crew, Bryan and Matt, to finish the job for us. It started with them installing the materials on site and then ordering the missing materials. Once they came in, Bryan and Matt returned to finish the project. By the time the project was done, Bryan and Matt were like old family friends. After the project was complete, Cody and Karan coordinated with the city to have an inspector come out to approve everything. The inspection went smoothly. Our pergola saga started in February 2025. We contracted with Padgett and Sons in April 2026, and the entire job was completed by July 2026. We're blown away with how Cody, Karan, Bryan, and Matt made the time to finish our project. Not just that, they really made sure we were happy with the end result, which we absolutely are! There are a lot of pergola contractors out there but I can tell you from firsthand experience, Padgett and Sons is the real deal. They aren't a fly by night company, and they stand by their work. We can't thank them enough for helping us when we were in a really tough spot.
