We chose Clark's Custom Lawn to add additional pavers in the front and back patio areas and to install steps from the front walkway to the street and exterior landscape lighting. I read the reviews of his company and also asked a neighbor who had him provide the same work on their front yard. All reviews I got were very positive and we were very happy we chose Nick. He communicated very well with us and started and ended the project as promised which was in 2 days. The work completed was excellent and the lighting he suggested really complements the front yard landscaping. We highly recommend Clark's Custom Lawn. read more

I wholeheartedly recommend Nick Clark Landscaping for both Nick's aesthetic and his business model. He is hands on and present throughout the job. I came new to the Reno high desert climate and wanted drought tolerant pollinator-attractive plants. Nick is knowledgeable of locally suitable choices. He built a beautiful, naturalistic waterfall down the slope of my backyard. I love that Nick worked from a pencil drawing with eraser at the ready as we discussed variations. We had time to fully develop our plan together and flexibility to tweak it as the work progressed. The outcome is delightful. read more

We were tired of trying to make our grass grow and luckily, when we finally decided to xeriscape, we found Nick Clark and Clark's Custom Lawn. Nick sat down with us and drew out a plan that we loved. We went through our HOA to get the approvals and Nick was very helpful in the process by providing us with everything we needed to get approved. He had quoted a 2 day turnaround but they finished in a day and a half. The workers were professional and Nick, the owner, was right there with them pushing the wheelbarrows full of rocks. One of the best parts was that he was there through the entire job from start to finish. The finished project is a dream come true. We immediately started receiving texts from our neighbors complementing us on our new yard. Some of the words were Awesome, Fantastic and Beautiful! We are extremely grateful for the amazing transformation of our front yard. Thank you Clark's Custom Lawn. read more

Nick Clark and his team are very, VERY good at their jobs and exceptionally easy to work with. We were struggling with how to landscape a new home on a large lot; Nick sat with us and provided great design alternatives - including hardscape, rocks and boulders, grass vs. DG, terracing and islands, irrigation and lighting, and obviously trees / shrubs / perennials. He walked us through budget considerations, provided us a detailed drawn plan, helped us move stuff around and tailored it to our wants and desires - while using his experience and eye for detail - adding a ton to the visual impact. They exceeded our expectations, providing us with an absolutely stellar front-yard and are now doing our back-yard. You are missing out if you don't reach out to these guys... Backyard complete and looks truly stunning! More than happy! read more

Nick and his team brought vision, artistry and care to every detail. If you're looking for more than landscaping- if you want your space to inspire-you need Clark's Custom Lawn read more

Nick Clark is a very friendly professional and does the Landscape Design before starting a job. If a customer has specific plants or hardscape items (like rock size and color), tell Nick before hand, otherwise you may end up with something you don't want. He doesn't trade or exchange items, the plant selection and rocks are locked in weeks before he and his crew start installation. Like other landscape contractors in Reno, in my opinion he is over priced for what he provides and installs. But as I mentioned, it's not just Nick, it's all over Reno, Sparks, and Carson City. I like his selection of plants and hardscape, the plants and hardscape are very attractive (year round). However, I have to be truthful about what I experienced, Nick says things that are masked with his overall plans. In my opinion, his workmanship is good, but not great. So all that said, I rate Nick Clark's Custom Lawn with a average mark, 3 stars. read more

We haven't decided whether we are going to have Clark's Custom Lawn xeriscape our front yard, as we are gathering quotes. (Though we are strongly considering them). We were extremely impressed with Nick when he came for a consult and he has set those expectations high. I didn't have any ideas for design and he spent the time to draft one right there and then and gave us a quote. He was very thorough and answered all our questions. I'm so glad DRC landscaping recommended them as I didn't come across this business during my own search. read more

Another satisfied customer! Nick came by, gave us an estimate for sod in our backyard, installing a new drip system around the perimeter of the yard, fixing the irrigation system, adding a new auto timer, and new valves for both front & backyard irrigation. It was a BIG job. He replaced the valves on Day 1 and we had to be scheduled for the rest. It was about 4 weeks out. He was able to bump us up a week, and he and his crew finished the job today. It was a 2 day job for the sod, and sprinkler systems. There were 2 guys here both days, working non-stop. Nick came by and worked on the systems himself as well. He and his crew, were professional, on time, and did a quality job. We are thrilled with our new lawn, and the plants are going to be so happy to have water again! I would recommend them highly for a job well-done. As you can see the pups love it too! read more

Nick is my landscaping god! He and his crew are simply the best professionals I have ever worked with on any kind of home improvement project. We have a large property and were really struggling with what to do in the areas we wanted to landscape. Nick walked the property for a few minutes and then, boom! He had a design in mind and we loved it. We approved the overall concept and then just turned the whole thing over to him to do with as he saw fit. We had no idea what we were doing so we really needed someone with vision; and of course someone with the skills and abilities to execute. Nick has that in abundance. If, unlike us, you have specific ideas he can and will implement those ideas. Quite simply, he can do whatever you want. And do it very, very well. Our very large patch of dirt and weeds has been transformed into a desert oasis. I walk by our windows and doors and the view into our yard stops me in my tracks. I thank my lucky stars that we found him and that we were comfortable in turning the whole project over to him and giving him free rein to do what he does best. We couldn't be happier with the outcome. If you are in need of landscaping, don't faff around. Just call Nick. You WILL NOT be disappointed!! read more

Nicholas designed and completed my backyard landscape last December, right before the snow covered the ground. He came over promptly and drew up a design and went over each detail. I told home I wanted a low maintenance yard. He designed a zero scape type yard with irrigation. He arrived when scheduled and completed the project in one week, less than expected due to the weather. His team worked diligently and continuously with Nicholas checking in and participating daily in the project. His design turned out better than I could ever imagine! The stones he used were beautiful with multi colors showing in the sun. He covered my drainage path with attractive stones so as not to interfere with drainage, which my HOA required. He added large boulders and mounds that took the design to a new level! He added well placed lights and set the timer to my preferences. The plants were small since they were all young but I loved the layout. That winter it stormed and covered my entire yard with snow for several months. I only had stubs where plants were planted. I was concerned. When spring came and the snow melted, I was blown away by my beautiful plants that were blooming! I have been enjoying my yard ever since. I couldn't be more pleased! I have been meaning to write this review and have finally gotten around to posting this. I highly recommend Nicholas and his team. Thank you so much!! read more

I have to echo some earlier reviews (e.g. Tim H.) describing the total lack of customer service and complete failure to respond to messages after our project was (mostly) completed. Their workmanship is decent, but they were not interested in addressing a couple of small issues we identified as well as a request for additional information so we could get our plans approved by our HOA. This is just no way to run a business and being a small business owner myself it is difficult to fathom how another small business that relies on its good reputation can operate in such a manner. Bottom line - if you value communication and responsiveness from your landscaping contractor, avoid this company and look elsewhere. read more

We cannot begin to express how happy we are with the complete backyard overhaul that Clark's Custom Lawn did for us. Our backyard was unlivable-full of goatheads and every species of weed this side of the Sierras. Ten years of neglect by multiple homeowners was repaired in two and a half days. Nick drew up a plan for us the day of the quote, was great at communicating every step of the way, and the price was fair considering the scope of the project. We (and our dogs!) would recommend Clark's Custom Lawn again and again. read more

If we could give this company 10 stars, we would do it! We found Clark's Custom Lawn from the recommendation of two of our neighbors who had used them. Nick came out and took his time walking through the yard with us and discussing design options, making sure he understood our preferences. They came as scheduled to begin working and completed the work as scheduled. Nick maintained excellent communication with us through the entire process. We are beyond impressed with the professionalism, design, and quality of work. Nick did an amazing job on the design and our yard has far exceeded our expectations. We are thrilled with all of the work they did! The accent lighting on the rocks is stunning and perfectly placed. Nick also designed a small patio area that came out beautifully. We felt the price was extremely reasonable for the quality of work and the service we received. We definitely plan to use Clark's Custom Lawn when we work on our backyard next year. I couldn't be happier with the work of Nick and his team on the small backyard of my townhouse. We got our entire backyard redone by Nick Clark and his crew a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier with it. I was referred by another company that had come out to estimate but had a minimum that we didn't meet, but Nick was willing to do as much or as little as we wanted. He was able to come by the same day I called him to talk about what we wanted and give an estimate, and was very generous with his time in discussing all of our options. He also had great ideas and opinions to offer without ever being pushy or feeling like he was trying to up-sell (in fact he gently discouraged a couple ideas that he didn't think were worth the cost). He was able to schedule our job for a couple weeks out, which we were thrilled about, and we were also shocked that they got the entire thing done in 5 days, which included cleaning out and then filling in a giant pond and removing all of the irrigation and electricity for it, ripping out the old grass and a lot of old and overgrown plants and one large tree; and replacing with new sod, new curbing, and new plants, with rocks and DG around the edges. I loved that Nick was there the whole time working with the crew; it gave me more confidence that we would get exactly the backyard we discussed and that there wouldn't be confusion with anything lost in 2nd-hand communication with a separate foreman/crew member. We had the unfortunate timing of getting it done during a heat spell so a couple areas of the sod weren't doing well a few days after the job was done, and Nick came out the same day I called him about it to replace them at no extra cost. All of this at a total price that I thought was very reasonable! Highly recommend. read more
