11.14.23 This review is way over due…read more We purchased a home (in the country) that needed to have 2 bathrooms remodeled and the kitchen too. Also the laundry room needed new flooring. We hired At Home Expert (AHE) to do the remodeling to both bathrooms. Also to do the tile and backsplash in the kitchen. (Laundry room too). We did not have AHE do the cabinets but, I wish I would have hired them for that as well. At the time I did not know AHE did cabinets as well. They do it ALL! I went to the AHE showroom and met with Evan Rousan. We have used Evan R. before on a different home and he did an EXCELLENT job on it , so why use someone else. Plus, he is just a really nice man! Evan helped me design my 2 bathrooms and pick out great back splash and flooring for the house. I had a budget set in my mind and he helped me stay on it. Evan also gave me some advice on what would look good & what would not. I really appreciate that! He was not just trying to make a sale. The tile selection at the showroom was fantastic, just what I was wanting. While Evan's crew was doing all the work at our house, we decided to have them paint almost all of the inside of the house and paint the fireplace. (I love how the fireplace and mantel came out!) When we have other projects we will definitely check with AHE first.

We read 5 star reviews on this company, but no way those reviews come close to what our experience have been. We are also reading reviews of work he has supposedly completed in the last few weeks and find this concerning, especially since he has told us he was depressed and was in bed, and unable to work. He stated that once he recovered, he would return to finish our project and possibly begin driving for Uber. The timing and volume of these recent reviews raise serious questions. Unfortunately, the experience has been extremely disappointing. At best, the crew seems capable of basic painting, and even that required close supervision. He promised to repair all cracks before painting, but only some were addressed, with repeated promises to come back later for the rest. We were sold on hardwood flooring with claims of a 100 year lifespan and unlimited resurfacing. Without our knowledge, refurbished wood was used instead. The floors are already making loud squeaking noises. The turf installation was poorly done. There are potholes throughout, no level surface, and the areas around the trees are messy. Grass is already growing through the turf. Sand was dumped directly on top of the grass and not properly removed, and leftover turf was left sitting on the lawn, killing the grass underneath. turf not anchored and he only used weed barrier around the trees. Plug covers removed for painting were misplaced, so they are left bare now. He removed our backyard tiles before even securing a contractor to replace them. His plan was to install tiles before painting the walls, but when he could not find someone, he painted anyway, promising to power wash the walls later because debris from the areas without tiles repeated splashed on the freshly painted walls everytime it rained. 6 months later, the tiles are still not installed. He told us two months ago, that the person he contracted with, wanted more money for labor and we offered to pay the difference. just so our work can be done. One contractor he sent out started installing the tiles, before ensuring a leveled surface and before the tiles on the sides and the door was removed. Yet he stated the tile guy was the best in Houston. The contractor also proposed for the new tiles to go the existed tiles. We also discovered that interior paint was used on exterior trim. We only found this out when workers he sent for touch ups told us directly. Additionally, drains were not marked before removal, so they were reinstalled incorrectly. This has caused water to collect improperly in our yard during rain. He built a wine room but has yet to complete it. Lights and shelving are still missing. He placed tiles here without grout and left some areas open. Although our contract included a kitchen remodel, we chose not to proceed until the existing incomplete work was finished. We had been paying in installments, and the amount paid now exceeds the value of the work completed. In total, this company owes us around $5000 in work paid for and yet to be done. Payments made were supposed to cover: Replacement of a cracked window Driveway touch up Backyard tile work Garage shelves Front door waxing One kitchen tile Tiles in two areas in the back These items are completely paid for but remain unfinished. He left in December stating he needed knee surgery. When he returned, he gave personal reasons for delays and asked for more time, yet we later learned he was taking on other jobs while ours remained unfinished. They broke our sprinkler system and promised to repair it but have not done so. They also entered our garage without permission, took items such as a ladder, brooms, shovels, and cords, used them, left them unclean and disorganized, and damaged some. Additionally, they entered the house wearing shoes without using protective shoe coverings. This contractor has received a number of positive reviews within the past month, which coincides with the time we sent him a certified letter regarding our concerns. This timing raises questions about whether those reviews were strategically posted to offset negative feedback he anticipated. We gave this company so many chances because we understand the struggles of some small businesses. Overall, this has been a stressful and frustrating experience. Mursal is an Irresponsible contractor with consistent failure to complete contracted work, Exhibits deceptive or misleading business practices and lacks integrity and accountability in fulfilling obligations. We strongly recommend exercising extreme caution when considering Home Repair Dudes or Guliyev Mursal, who also goes by Mark.

I was a bit leery initially as his bid was substantially less than another handyman company quoted for the same job, but Mark's bid was very much in line with what I thought it should cost and I was willing to pay to not have to do it myself. But where I really found the five star worthy rating is in the reports I received from my tenants. They said the workers who came were on time, polite, and very respectful of their home, taking shoes off, laying plastic down, and keeping everything clean while working. My tenants texted me a photo of the interior repair and said it was like nothing was ever wrong and they were very pleased. Keeping a quality tenant happy is LIFE for me as a landlord and I will be using Home Repair Dudes again I am sure. Highly recommend.

David would only show up a couple of times a week, usually late in the afternoon, which dragged the project on forever and left my family without a functional bathroom for weeks. I actually had to go out and buy the tiles myself--which were supposed to be included in his price--just so he could keep working. When he did actually do work, it was completely defective: The shower floor is a disaster: It's sloped the wrong way, so water pools in the corner instead of going down the drain. Some of the tiles are offset and some weren't. After he abandoned the project on Dec 29th, he verbally promised a refund but has since disappeared and stopped responding. Five other contractors have looked at it and confirmed it's a total loss that has to be torn down and redone. Save yourself the money and the headache--do not hire him.

Because it's an exterior door, it has to be fiberglass door because steel door will conduct temperature from outside. Hot out hot in and cold out cold in. No lying. I researched before agreed to get it installed. Also, because of the door frame had been badly damaged with years of abuse from the weather, everything has to go. I was told by some carpenters who wanted to just replace out the bad piece of door frame with a piece of wood plank. No way, José. I was so glad that I refused to get another DIY person's work and getting charged for a professional price. Old school values, fair pricing, and competence!…read moreMarch 2022 I had Southwestern Roofing and others bid on a large project to replace decayed wood and replace old, dilapidated siding with Hardy Plank, upgrade gutters to larger size, paint and caulk the outside of my 2-story house and rebuild damaged wood and siding around chimney to prevent rain leaking into that area. Southwestern was the only bidder who presented a professional folder stating all the services were available through them including manufacturer's' information for top grade material they used. It included BBB, Manufacturer's, and customer review letters -all were top notch rated for a business that has been active in our communities for decades. BBB was A+. (Other bidders were F's or unrated but with serious complaints of taking money and not completing work). They provided their in-house professional construction, gutter, painting, and general contractors assessments of damage and needed repairs for a one-page final estimate and were easy to work with details, suggestions, and options. All were pleasant, thorough, attentive, thoughtful, helpful, and extraordinarily accommodating. I felt safe when they were around with respect to me and my property. The construction began promptly on the appointed date and the teams worked tirelessly from early morning to late in the evening to complete all the work in a few days, stopping only to keep me informed of any needed changes or confirm open estimate items- items that could not be known beforehand but estimated prices were already on the estimate before work began. They all smiled frequently as they worked and seemed to really enjoy doing their work and pleasing the customer. The workers were friendly and if there was a language difficulty, they would quickly get another employee who could clarify the conversation to speak with me promptly. Before painting they power washed the whole house and driveway. Then painted first by spray and then a brushed and rolled on coat to assure good coverage. Again, the team was friendly, professional, and used quality products. They were happy to fix and or remove outdated items from the house. The painter cheerfully came back after it was completed to remove an overlooked item or two and to do some extra items we had agreed to after the initial plan. The gutter team was also prompt, professional and accomplished their installation quickly. They came back to address a small concern I had and adjusted the problem I had been concerned about. The best part for me personally was a door to the garage that stuck and was difficult to open all the time and no one had been able to fix it properly. Frank, the supervisor, personally fixed it so it opens and shut easily. It was a halleluiah! moment after years of suffering the inconvenience!
