These guys were great. Came at the exact time they were supposed to (well maybe 10 mins late, but no big deal). It was even raining and they could easily have cancelled but they didn't. They were fast and efficient. They got in, moved my stuff and didn't waste time. I had to go to several locations to pick all my stuff up and they actually beat me to one of the locations. I never sat waiting for them, even for a minute. I was very impressed by their work ethic. I highly recommend them for moves in the Detroit area. They are a small family owned business, so you need to book ahead of time. The rates were reasonable (pretty much the same as everyone else), but the service is really what impressed me. They even dusted off my cabinets for me after they loaded them in the truck. And moved a piano without a hitch. They came recommended to me and I recommend them to anyone around here moving. Moved last weekend, and was dreading it for 3 weeks. My wife's a stickler for moving and movers (done it 15 times in her life) ...let me start by saying, ...she was happy with what happened, so that should tell you right there! They were on time, courteous, friendly, cooperative, etc ! They didn't putz around and waste time either, which is I'm sure everyone's biggest nightmare. I've used All Area Moving twice now - once for a Detroit-to-Chicago move 5 years ago, and most recently for a Chicago-to-Detroit move last week - and couldn't have been happier with my decision. They were: +FLEXIBLE (they were able to squeeze me onto the schedule with less than one week's notice) +FAIR (they quoted me a price nearly $1,000 lower than the closest competitor) +PROFESSIONAL (from the owner down to the movers, I was treated with courtesy, respect and top-notch customer service) +ACCESSIBLE (the owner gave me his personal cell phone number, and took my call on Sunday morning to answer a few urgent questions) +PUNCTUAL (the movers arrived exactly when they said they would, and called to give me a heads-up when they were close) +EFFICIENT (they were in and out for both the pick-up and drop-off in under an hour) +CAREFUL (all of my stuff arrived in my new place in the same condition that it left my old one - without any nicks, scratches, cracks, breaks, etc.) The whole All Area team made my move infinitely less stressful, and I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable company to handle their in- or out-of-state move. read more

Very good service with professional and polite movers. I was expecting the worst after we couldn't reschedule and the coldest day of the year was our moving day. Even with -4 degree temps the movers were very polite and extremely efficient and quick. Since this is a pay by the hour service I was worried about them milking the clock. Not even close. They wasted no time starting and even skipped lunch because a second run was necessary (the cold weather grounded the big truck). I'm impressed and would recommend this company to anyone moving. I was really worried about All Area Moving - I didn't read the filtered reviews until I had already booked, and then you start to wonder if the other positive reviews were posted by someone associated with the company. I hired All Area Moving last Sunday and had no problems whatsoever with them. I was given a window of arrival between 9 and 11 and the crew arrived at 10:30 (they called at 9:45 to say they were on their way) in a company-branded truck. They were efficient, courteous and fast. And their cost was 50% less than the quote I got from other moving companies. They moved me out of a 1 bedroom apartment with stairs into a house in under 2 hours. No damage to anything. They did have to remove the front door on the house to get the couch in, but they hung the door back up and everything was fine. I would definitely use this company again for my next move. read more

The only redeeming quality of this company is that they gave us a large discount off our move. I wasn't going to write a review but, everytime I look around at the state of chaos they left us in I think, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. They showed up hours late every single day. Didn't bring adequate supplies to pack us. When they did pack us they did it in a rush causing a lot of broken dishes. Bottles of cooking liquid were packed on there sides and vinegar leaked out on everything in the box. All of our fridge and freezer food was packed in plain boxes, without our knowledge so that they were discovered 24 hours later in the living room. A whole bottle of pain meds disappeared. Worst was the delay meant we were unable to get our very frightened cat out of the house and now she is feared dead. Never, ever, EVER use this company. read more

These guys moved us faster and at a better rate than any other mover I've had, and they were friendlier than any mover. Plus they were very careful about not breaking anything. I've moved with other movers twice before. Right away Justin said "let me tell you about our crew. Matt is my older brother, and Tae is my best friend." Doesn't get better than that. I will say we had to ask them to wear masks, which is fine and they did at that point, and I wish the front office was a little more emaily and confirmy. A simple "you're all set for [date]" or something would have helped me be 100% sure I was lined up for the move. They answered my questions but didn't really confirm the move time, so I was like 90% sure I had them lined up, but was relieved when people actually showed up for the move. read more

i think this for the place i used... it was this name and in white lake, but i had another number. at any rate, if you talk to Joe then this is the place to use! I caught horrible reviews for this place on a moving website, after i booked them. I was scared it was going to be a nightmare, but it was a good experience!!! i chose all area because they were the easiest to set up after i put a bid request in on a moving website. the other places were way too involved for my schedule. this guy set up a an appointment for a quote really quickly through email/cell phone. He also had the best quote - super cheap!!!! 1200 to move a 6 room, FULL apartment to another state. no hidden costs, insured and easy to pay - cash, cashier check the day of the move or credit card in advance. they showed up on time, were nice and efficient and offered all sorts of advice. they even packed up my car and boxed my tv! the only reason i deducted a star was because i think the start time could've been planned better - we ended up getting stuck in chicago traffic which may have been a little less of a mess if we started early. but otherwise it was a simple move, which is the best you can ask for in a move! read more

Was referred to this moving company through a family member. WOW! These people get the job done, quick, professionally, and reliably as well. I have worked with many different moving complains throughout the years but this one is by far the LEADER in options to choose from. The quote was accurate, they showed up on time and ready to work. Never once did they goof off or "dilly-dally" during the job. The surveyed what had to be moved, they got stuff onto the truck, secured, delivered, and unloaded all within the time allotted and under budget. Super professional all the way. I had a wonderful experience with this company. They helped with a long distance move at a great price and were able to pack and load all of my belongings in less than 4 hours. It would have taken me a week to pack everything myself. The head mover, Casey, was unbelievable! Everything arrived in perfect condition and the movers were super professional. Do not use this company. I utilized them for moving services on 2/28/13. They were about 45 minutes late with no phone call and didn't answer when I called them. I had an 1800 square foot house and moved to a 1500 squae foot condo about 40 minutes away. The move took about TEN HOURS. Additionally, the movers ruined the carpet at my new place and damaged walls and doorframes. When I tried to reach "Jerry Bell" to get some resolution, he made empty promises and did nothing to resolve the issue. I am disputing the charge with my credit card company. USE A REPUTABLE COMPANY THAT HAS A CORPORATE OFFICE. At least if you have an issue you have a way to raise your complaint and try to get a resolution. DO NOT USE!!!! read more

I wish there was an option to give no stars at all. I booked a move with All Area Moving about a month before I moved from Ann Arbor to East Lansing for grad school. I was told I had a specific window of time on the moving day, a Sunday the day before I started my new job. It was a very important move! I didn't ever receive a confirmation from them that my move was happening at all. So the morning of the move, I called and found out that although my move was scheduled, it wasn't going to happen until later in the afternoon when I was told I had a first thing in the morning slot! I had already packed and was ready to go in the morning. When I questioned this scheduling and asked why I was told something different but not notified of the change, I was told I should find another moving company. The person on the phone was extremely rude and claimed I had an attitude, when really he was the one who took an attitude with his customer. I asked if the move was on, and he said "You know I'd rather just cancel your move altogether." Luckily I found another mover--Above All Moving, who was able to move me last minute that day. And when I called back All Area Moving to cancel, they didn't even answer my phone call! Abhorred service by everyone at the company. I wouldn't use this company if it was the last moving company on Earth. I would rent a UHaul and do it myself. read more

I was so pleased with our move! The guys were right on time. They were friendly and nice, and very careful with our furniture. We had a lot of stuff to move, but they worked so quickly and efficiently. They were also very flexible, as our closing date was not confirmed until the day before our move. Ashley at their office was very understanding and willing to accommodate us. Their price was also very fair, as I had called around to a number of places for quotes. This is a great moving company! We used them for our local move. I wasn't done packing my storage room when they arrived and I felt a lot of pressure bc of it but they reassured me that "almost everyone has packing left " when they arrive and told me "not to worry about it". Every few.minutes one of the guys would come in and wisk away boxes from me which was great. They packed the truck so well--not one bit of damage to anything! I've used moving companies quite a bit and almost always something gets damaged but not this time. The guys were on time, polite, nice, down to earth and strong as heck! I decided to use this company for my move because of the past positive reviews. What a horrible decision. My experience was unbelievably terrible. For starters the movers came three hours late. The truck they brought was too small to fit all of the items from my home so they had to make two trips. On the second trip the truck driver drove off my driveway and got stuck in mud. The truck nearly tipped over. All of my furniture on this load was damaged because the moving crew had not wrapped the furniture at all. I had to wait for a tow truck company to get the moving truck off my front lawn before the truck could be unloaded. What was supposed to be an 8 hour moving day turned into a nightmare that didn't end until midnight. Being pregnant and having a two year old made managing this horrible move so painstaking. They weren't even apologetic about what I had gone through and offered no reimbursement for the situation. To add insult to injury the next day I found cigarette butts and empty soda cans left behind in my driveway and next to my front door. I used this company because they gave me the lowest quote fro my move. It was a huge mistake on my part. DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY. read more

I believe this company is now out of business or under another name. We used them June 2009. We spent over $1000. They damaged a lot of our furniture. I was able to overlook a lot of the small knicks, even the chunk they took out of my headboard that the movers seemingly didn't notice happened. (not sure how they couldn't notice a chunk out of a black headboard?) However... they gouged one of our stainless steel handles on our refrigerator and scraped the whole front on our front loader washing machine. These two items I asked to be replaced. Joe the main owner said he would get those replaced. I emailed him all the necessary info and I've been waiting months. On Aug 28th he said he would get back to me with ETA's. I have not heard from him since and I've emailed and left messages. Today is Dec. 16th and I found out that the phone numbers to All Area Moving have been sold to another moving company. Small claims court here I come!! BTW...the guys that do move you are WT all the way. Every other word is a curse word and they leave all their drinks and butts behind. No wonder they are out of business or changing names!! read more
