We recently used All American Movers to move 2 hours away. I had several phone calls and email exchanges, to obtain a quote and to discuss the particulars. And to move the date around. Everyone I spoke to was very quick to respond, and helpful. We also obtained quotes from a few other moving companies and All American Movers quote was considerably lower, and therefore budget-friendly. The team showed up on time; they worked well together and were very helpful to us, on the day of the move. They also demonstrated care for our belongings, and especially when the truck was being unloaded & furniture placed into the home. I see there are a few poor reviews on Yelp; I also note they are from several years ago. Whomever those people were, back in 2022 and 2023, surely no longer work here. We have used All American for three moves in the past 10 years, and had a great experience each time. Most recently they moved us out of our home for a remodel, moved half our stuff to a rental, the other half to their storage facility, and then moved us back from storage and the rental flawlessly a year later. They are responsive to questions, prices are reasonable, the crews are friendly and work quickly and efficiently, and we had no damage either to our belongings or to our new home after moving back in. read more

Never in my life have I given a review, but this is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. I put in a request for a quote, but my husband and I decided to hold off on the move. I have asked multiple times to be taken off their call list. Despite this, they started calling me from a phone number with the same area code as mine. They called me for MONTHS. Whenever I did get a hold of somebody, they were rude and didn't even take me off the list! I am also in customer service, so naturally, I tried my best to stay calm and collected even when they were not doing their job properly. All I wanted was for them to take me off the list the first time I asked, not multiple times later. Maybe I would have used them in the future if they didn't harass people. Eventually, I got frustrated and asked to be taken off the call list once again. The representative responded, "Ma'am, why did you even ask for a quote then?" I replied, "Why does it f***ing matter? Take me off the call list." He told me to watch my tone and called me "young lady" as if he were my father! He then proceeded to tell me how he deals with "BS" all day and insinuated that I was the type of person to leave a bad review. I told him I had never left a review before, but I am now. What a great experience! I spoke with JR to set up our pick up time for several items being held in storage. The crew was busy with a big move but JR assured me someone would be there so we could get our furniture. It took us longer than expected to get our uhaul and JR made sure someone was there after our pick up time to help out. Walter helped us and he was GREAT! My mom has used this company several times in the past without issue. They are easy to book and friendly enough over the phone. Their pricing seems pretty standard - which is 2X the hourly rate for commute time. The first red flag was that I had to call them the day before to confirm the appointment. During this conversation I had a lot of questions for them but oddly they had none for me. The next day they arrived 1.5 hours late and immediately informed me that I was 3 hours into my allotted 6 hour booking. I was also informed by the driver that trucks cannot drive on the 110 in a manner that suggested that I should have let him know (I was left wondering, don't they plan these routes ahead of time?) My honest assessment was that he was wasn't super motivated to work. The driver also complained that it was a long walk to park in back of the unit and the city would not allow him to double park on the street in front (long walk? Isn't he a mover?) I was able to persuade him to try and park in the back. Unfortunately the truck was too large. These are all situations that could have been avoided if they had asked a few questions. After 22 years in the military and dozens of interstate and international moves, this rates among the worst ever. The owner's son, Jack, went over the specifics of my 2 bedroom/2bathroom move and estimated about 4 hours ("5 hours max") for a local move 8 miles away. I went with a 3 man crew to ensure the move would be done in a timely manner. The move took 8 hours (one employee stayed on truck with his phone "directing" for virtually the entire day) and was double the quoted estimate. Bad. Like the other reviews, my move was a complete disaster. After 22 years in the military and dozens of local, state and international moves this is hands down the worst experience. The owner's son, Jack, went over contents of my 2-bedroom/2-bathroom (which included NO appliances, piano or other unusually large items) local move of roughly 8 miles. He estimated it would take 4 hours with a 3 man crew or 5-6 hours with a 2 man crew. The move took DOUBLE the time quoted. Bad. But, the damaged furniture made a horrible move even worse. I called the company 4 times & finally reached Jack; I was told he would investigate the issues and have either his father, John, or himself call me back. If I could give them a zero I would. Lost and damage items and no compensation. Charged me $400 more after they got to my new home and would not unload until I paid them cash. Heavy damage to my VictorIan Furniture including a chipped marble top and hunks of wood broken off furniture. Also lost a heavily carved framed mirror that went to my victorian dresser. But the most heartbreaking thing was, they lost the original framed artwork from a magazine that had my late husband's picture in it. The reason for the move was I had just lost my husband of 43 years. My heart was already shattered and American Movers only added to my grief. This was such an easy move thanks to JR the scheduler, Henry the estimator , and Victor and Javier drivers and movers! And the other 3 amazing men who helped do the packing up. Our last move was the move from hell with another company...All American gave us an estimate and stuck to it...they were on time for the pickup and drove 400 miles in one day so they could drop off the next morning on time! This was our second move with All American Movers. Our first experience was good. We had a lot of our furniture in storage while we rented. When we moved in, three pieces of furniture were missing (two double beds and a large credenza). At that time, it was just an inconvenience --- I thought they would locate the items and schedule a delivery day. We moved at the end of May and they still have not found our furniture. They do not return calls or voicemails. I called today (Thursday, July 1st) and was told that no one could help until after the 4th of July holiday. Please do not use this service. read more

They say death, divorce and moving are the most stressful times in one's life. I can certainly attest to the moving. I contacted All American in mid January 2021 with a move date in two weeks time. JR (who took mycall) sent Henry out right away to take a look and provide a quote. Friendly, detailed oriented and described the move to the packing to the move the following day. I had a great team with JR, Victor (Nacho) Don and Giovanni pack me up one day and load the truck the next. Everything arrived safely packed (from grandma's china to the antiques) and unloaded. Giovanni even hooked up my TV (tech challenged here) I'm still unpacking boxes 3 weeks later but All American made a very stressful time in my life SO.MUCH.EASIER. What a disappointment! I had these guys load my own 26ft truck and it took them the entire day, costing me $1000. I also gave them each a $50 tip and hooked them up with some really cool stuff that I couldn't take with me. It took longer and cost more than I thought it would, which is fine, I'm not a professional mover so I don't expect my estimate to be all that accurate. The problem was that when I unloaded the truck ALL of my nicest antique furniture was damaged from the materials they wrapped them in. I called the owners and they said because I paid cash there was no insurance on my property and they wouldn't do anything to fix it. To be clear, I paid with cash to help them out as a small business. I was never told that it would release the company of their responsibility to handle my things with care. I will never use this company again or recommend them to anybody. They are a joke. If you look at their YELP you'll see they only have 1 and 5 star reviews. Very arrogant workers, refused to take even boxes - stating too heavy when they were easily picked by two guys. Filled the truck with racks which would take minutes to dismantle. Took hour plus lunch - all chargeable. Wanted to walk with dirty shoes inside new house. Loud, Arrogant, non cooperative, left one exhausted dealing with them. Will not complete job, will give a quote for moving everything but upon arrival will notify of items will not transport. Will take only 1/2 of items, will take 6 bages and leave 6 behind for you to transport. Owner John is disrespectful and he is always right. Will only cover what they pack but they dont pack anything...oh wait they will pack a box of newspaper. If purchase insurance it's up to owner if he will submit any claims if he thinks its valid. He will charge you for services not completed and without authorization. Will talk over you and not listen to any issues. Fragile items will not be handled carefully...will be delivered upside down and heavy items on top, small boxes under two to three heavy boxes, boxes stacked on top of boxes with do not stack anything on top. Property damage in excess of $2000. Blatant lack of care from movers. No person from the company will speak with me. Full Story: On November 30th the movers showed up around 11:30 AM with a truck that was already nearly full. To believe you could move any home with the space that remained is ludicrous. They left only to return 3 hours later. At that time the driver informed me he needed to weigh the truck, he left once again while the second worker began preparing furniture. By the time they loaded everything, weighed the truck again, and returned to complete paperwork, it was 9:00 PM. We were unable to depart on our 18 and a half hour drive until 9:30 at night because of how unprepared these individuals were. On Saturday November 30th, I spoke with the person who was set to deliver my property. He said he could only arrive Sunday between 1:00 and 3:00 PM. He also had no knowledge of the second stop at a storage facility which was in my moving agreement. He seemed very inconvenienced by this. The next day he called at 11:30 AM and said he was running behind and would arrive between 5:00 and 6:00 PM, and would call when he was 1 hour away. I received a call close to 5:00 PM, he said he was 5 minutes away. He was obviously rushing after falling behind from the previous job, and I can only believe this kind of attitude lead to the destruction of my property to begin with. Several boxes were labeled "stg", which I told him meant storage, and should remain on until the second stop. Many of these items were taken off the truck at the first stop anyway and were left for me to sort through and transport myself. After all of this I call the company I started with and cannot get the common courtesy of a return call. The lack of urgency and customer care is very alarming. This was an absolutely terrible experience I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. read more

Do not use All American Movers unless you want to be price gouged! I was given a quote over the phone to move my 2-bedroom townhouse style apartment, less than 4 miles. I explained about the access at both the old and new place and that there were only 2 people living there. I was told it should take 4-6 hours and would cost me $650-700 for 3 guys. If I had chosen 2 guys and it took longer, it would equal out to the same, so I opted for the 3-man crew. It took a total of 7 hours and 45 minutes (there was an hour lunch and two breaks that took about 40 min each). I was then billed double the quoted price! When I called to ask questions, I was told that I "might have had more stuff than normal, we all have more than we think" or that I "had a lot of items that needed to be un-assembled and reassembled". When I called again a few days later to discuss, the man was rude, raised his voice at me and said he wouldn't be crediting anything back, his guys said it was a difficult move and I had a lot of stuff. Yet, when asked again what amount was normal for 2 people in a 2-bedroom apartment, he couldn't answer. I am a single mom on a budget and feel like I was taken advantage of. I could understand being charged an extra $150/hour for hour or two over the quoted price but not double the quoted price. I didn't even have any beds that moved because I bought brand new ones and had them delivered to the new place. I only had a 3-piece sectional and my kitchen table that needed to be reassembled in the new place. There were two points of access at my new place and the movers chose the hardest one (but most direct) to bring up the heaviest items like the fridge and dressers. I am extremely disappointed with this company. My friend who referred them, used them last year and was charged $800 for her 2,000 square foot 4-bedroom house (4 people's stuff) that moved only a couple miles. My previous move, with another moving company PDS, consisted of moving from a house to storage and then a month later moving from the storage unit to an apartment and I was charged $1300 for this. Basically 2 moves. I mentioned the situation to PDS and even he asked, "how did that happen?". I will never use All American Movers again. I would never recommend them to anyone! read more

Where do I begin? So, we choose this company because of all the positive reviews....well...I dont know who these people had moving them, but this has NOT been my experience. Firstly, we were told that the movers would be to the house between 1:00 and 3:00. When we called them close to 4 we were told they were on the way....a whole hour later here they come, with a drink cup in hand. I understand that you need a break, but dont lie. Just say we need a break, we'll be over in an hour. I would of been ok with that. Ok, so they finally get here taking about they need cash or a money order for the first half of payment, when that was not what was agreed upon when we booked them. Called the place they said a form could be filled out for cc payment. Ok. They start working, it's about 5:00 when they start, then 7:30 or so they leave to get the form. It is now after 8:00 PM and they have yet to come back. We now held hostage in our house and cant leave until they come back. We sitting up in here hangry and annoyed. Having moved 8 times in 10 years, I have a very good sense for "good" movers. All American Movers impressed me from the moment I called to check pricing and availability. Their staff were friendly, quick, thorough and their rates were fair. What set them apart, and inspired me to take the time to write this review, was the dream team of movers that showed up at my home; 20 minutes early (that has never happened with any other moving company). I was delighted with a dream-mover team of Joe, Sean and Armondo. They took great care of my belongings, were friendly, efficient, and kind and respectful to one another (each had a role and they seemed proud to do it). What was scheduled for 6 hours was completed early, and they fixed a few things my prior movers put together wrong from my last move. This was the third time I've used this company in the past year: storage, temp housing, and now to my "real" home. See prior review of August, 2017. Once again this company did a great job. The crew - Po, a seasoned veteran, and Xavier, a relative newbie - were both so polite and professional. Po is a human dynamo, and I loved the way he closely supervised Xavier making sure everything was done the right way. I have several antique pieces and they took extra special care of the more delicate ones. This was not an easy move. I went from the South Bay to the Coachella Valley - a 3 1/2 hour drive in heavy traffic. When the last piece was unloaded the crew was just as cheery and polite as when the day started. I received a call from Dustin about my request and thanked him for his call, but explained that I was no longer interested and asked if he could please remove my information from their list of inquiries. Dustin's tone immediately changed and he started yelling over me repeatedly, "THERE IS NO LIST!! YOUR NAME IS NOT ON A LIST!!!". I am the least confrontational person. Never in my life have I ever been spoken to so disrespectfully by a place of business. I hope that his calls are recorded so that the company can hear that I am in no way exaggerating. The moving company will do it's best to meet any requested pick up or delivery dates. Customer tend to write bad reviews and when the move is successful they don't take time to praise us witch is fine. A company so nice, we used them twice! Tom came to our home and gave us an estimate in the same day. Flat rate, no extra charges! They were on time, professional and very fast! We had the pleasure of Ignacio and Victor moving us out and in. They couldn't be more professional and polite. After they moved us, we had them move my mother in law. Nightmare company. Hired them to move from SF to LA. Customer service is terrible. The mover guys were rude and always made sure to talk to each other in hebrew whenever we were around them. They broke some of our furniture and I'm glad we got the insurance policy. They lied about the number of guys that would move us. They promised 4 guys but 2 guys showed up . It took them all day to pack our stuff with only two guys. They didn't discount the price even though the contract promised 4 movers. They also took extra days moving us and we had to keep calling to find out where our stuff was. When they were moving our stuff into the new place they managed to crack the driveway, scratch the paint on the walls and stain the carpet. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS. read more
