Everyone is very nice and cares very deeply about dance as an art form and passion. It is a great place for beginners to grow and learn and for more experienced dancers to expand their knowledge of dance. Dance is a great way to express yourself and to learn valuable life lessons, such as time management, discipline, and team work. Merced Academy of Dance is the best!

My daughter has autism and doesn't really understand a lot of what the teachers are saying but she still did well. The teachers for the young kids are like 14, they are good at what they do tho. After the nutcracker ( which I was told was mandatory) I was broke it was so expensive the costumes were $65 and that's only for your child to wear it in the show and that it, you don't keep it. Plus the $65 a month and we were put to work trying to raise even more money for them. They say they needed it for the professional dancers she was hiring. Plus I had to pay for our tickets. They also told me that because my daughter has autism it's not fair to leave her to someone else backstage, that I had to be there, which means missing the show.( confused, I wanna watch my daughter, not a professional) After I realized I couldn't afford it i was trying to talk to owner (Jane) about how I'm having a difficult time with the payment if I could take a month off ( which is only 4) classes and she said that I couldn't do that I'm in or out. She wasn't even sympathetic she didn't care in the least. She would get upset if she had to repeat something, which she did often because nobody understands the whole show process. This place doesn't make you feel included as a parent, u sit there all alone. Nobody even greets u when you walk in. U just sit alone in silence. I decided to just drop it since I couldn't afford it it's been 6 months and they continue to send me a bill as if she is still in classes. Btw this place smells like a fat mans armpit sweat mixed with melted crayons.

Take this from someone who has never danced and can't find a beat to save her life, please go! The confidence I have gained from this class is crazy. I went from wearing a tee shirt and shorts to being confident in my ever expanding wardrobe of pole clothes. The instructors are rays of sunshine and absolute boss a** ladies! The community I have found here is something else, absolutely everyone is welcome. The vibe is that of the women's restroom of a bar or club, everyone is fast friends asking where you got your shoes and helping each other with pole moves, minus the occasional crying. I will say one thing though, the addiction is real and you too may end up with a golden pole in your living room completely unashamed when your coworkers come by for game night.

This review is for the Parent & Me dance class for ages 18 months to 3 years old. I was initially…read moreexcited to enroll my 2-year-old daughter, who loves to dance. Unfortunately, the class quickly became a disappointment. The instructor, Janelle, offered minimal instruction and mostly ran through routines without engaging the children--only occasionally praising the same few students while ignoring the others. While I understand parents are there to support their child, other Parent & Me classes we've attended had instructors who were far more hands-on and encouraging. My daughter was also going through a phase of learning boundaries and keeping hands to herself. Instead of addressing the concerns with me directly, the teacher reported the issue to the front desk, and I received a text stating that my daughter's behavior was a problem. I offered to withdraw her from class as I didn't want her to be a problem or distraction for others, but was told I would not receive a refund for the class or recital. The receptionist Ms. Sophie said she would speak to the teacher, but essentially offered no real solution or options on how we could work together to address the issue. Recital picture day was also poorly organized. Multiple groups were assigned the same time slot, and everyone was crowded into a hot classroom with limited seating. Our group--despite having the youngest and most restless children--was scheduled second to last. As I was heavily pregnant, I alternated between sitting on the floor and standing for over an hour. When I went to the lobby to look for a seat, Ms. Sophie, immediately told us to return to the classroom. I calmly explained I was pregnant and needed a seat, but she showed no concern or professionalism and rudely dismissed me (she was generally always rude and curt with me for whatever reason, and it seemed like she seized this opportunity to be even more rude). She escalated tensions by raising her voice at my husband. Eventually, another teacher who was present reluctantly found me a chair. My daughter then came running out of the picture room (parents were not allowed in) stating that she was scared and that her teacher had yelled at her. Overall, the staff came across as young, unprofessional, and lacking in basic customer service. The teachers do not seem prepared or have the experience to run a classroom with toddlers. The only positive thing I could say was that my daughter was allowed to perform on recital day despite having a rough morning which caused her to arrive late and upset. Aside from that, our experience was overwhelmingly negative. I would not recommend this studio for Parent & Me classes; you're better off with city-run tot classes that offer a better value without the stress or high cost, and more importantly, treat families with more care and respect.

The owner (RICK) of Evolution Strength and Conditioning treated my son and his friend very aggressively, saying he makes 4 million dollar a year to get the "f" out of his gym. I've been a member since that gym opened 8 years ago and to witness how the owner treats his members is very disappointing. When in fact we paid a drop-in fee for my son to workout. Disgusting behavior. Just be careful parents. If you have sons/daughters going to that gym, make sure the owner doesn't belittle them or disrespect them. RICK, YOU AIN'T BETTER THAN NONE OF US. One of the main rooms has not a single fan or AC vent, and the space is essentially a warehouse with high vaulted ceilings. It is 105 degrees outside as I'm typing this, and the room without fans or AC is a sauna. Imagine working out in a 90+ degree room without a fan blowing any air around - it's miserable. I called about this issue last year, and my concern was always blown off and I was repeatedly told "we're working on it". Well, summer has arrived again and there is still not a single fan in that room. And don't even get me started on their response when you bring this up with them. The last time I mentioned this and expressed my concern, the person who answered the phone suggested I cancel my membership and find another gym. Seriously? Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I'm not asking you to install an additional AC unit and vents (which they should do anyways), I'm asking you to spend 30 minutes running to the nearest Lowe's/Home Depot to buy two large fans, plug them in, and turn them on. That's it. It is quite literally the bare minimum this business could do to show that they care about the safety and comfort of their customers. For $40/month, I expect much more from this business.
