They need to update contact information. Very hard to even talk to a manager regarding your account

Whenever I travel for work I try to book my hotels in close proximity to the nearest gym. I do this…read moreso often that I should start a show similar to Anthony Bourdain (R.I.P.), where I would travel to gyms worldwide and experience the differences in gym/fitness culture. Unfortunately, gyms are scarce in the Chowchilla area (where my hotel was located), but I was able to find a gym 20 minutes away in Madera. After verifying that it was a conventional gym (most of the nearby gyms only offered group classes), I put on my gym clothes and made the short trip to Fit Republic. When I entered I was warmly greeted by an employee who recognized that I was not a regular attendee (I love when staff recognize familiar and unfamiliar faces). After filling out a short e-disclosure form, I paid the $10 guest day pass fee and proceeded to throw around some iron (I love that they don't waste your time trying to pressure you into joining)! The first thing that I noticed is how well-spaced and organized the gym floor is. Aside from the squat racks that are located against a far wall in the gym, all of the equipment is organized by muscle group(s). My heart was filled with thankfulness when I realized that one of the three conventional (free weight) squat racks was available. I pointed out that they have three racks because most gyms have two (three is my lucky number), and they are almost always occupied for long periods of time. In between sets, I noticed that most of the gym patrons were focused on their workouts (no creepy staring at people as they stretch), gym equipment was being used for its intended purposes (not as makeshift couches), there were no "musclehead" vibes (throwing weights & unnecessarily loud grunting), and weights/dumbbells were racked when not in use. With the exception of the squat racks, the equipment is all new (including the cardio equipment) and the facility is clean. As I concluded my grueling workout with cardio (I love doing cardio as much as my son loves eating his veggies), I noticed two massage chairs nestled in the corner (heaven for post-workout muscle soreness). I also noticed workout machines arranged in a circular formation (similar to the Curves gyms) that could be used for group circuit workouts. I have this gym bookmarked for whenever I'm in the Madera area. Whether you reside in Madera, or just visiting, I highly recommend Fit Republic!

would give it negative stars if I could. The customer service here was HORRIBLE. They charged me…read more$50, $25 for the first month and $25 for the last month, and then didn't allow me to use my last month once I had cancelled my subscription. Then after 3 months of having a membership, they charged me a $40 yearly fee which I was not spoken to about. At the time I wanted to cancel my subscription, I went in a few days before my renewal date to cancel due to financial issues, they notified me they would still be charging me for the upcoming month and when I called to ask if it could be stopped or refunded when it went through if it was not possible to stop it, they denied me and told me I should have come in 15 days before the billing date to cancel.

The stretch coach I have is Jazzle, errrrr, it's really Jazz but I nickname everyone. He is amazing. His persistence has motivated me. He is super kind, and great at getting you into those stretching positions you only dream of. When I first started with Jazzle he asked what my goals are. My first goal was being able to touch my toes. With his help I have accomplished that. He continues to ensure I stay limber and each week ensures he stretches me in ways I am unable to do myself. His skills are amazing. I highly recommend you come try them out. Having someone else stretch you allows you to gain a deeper more fulfilling stretch. I truly am glad I took the leap and decided to move forward with working on my physical health with Stretch Lab.

This particular location management took advantage of our teenage daughter who used her hard earned…read moremoney to pay for a 3 month membership. The whole selling point of this membership from the manager was that you can cancel at any time after you have paid your 3 month minimum fee. If you go to the website for the Stretch Lab, there is a contract there which states that you can cancel at any time. However, the contract from this location is different and in very fine print states cancellations need a 31 day prior notice. We were never told this. This is very different from the Stretch Lab website. Again, what we were told from the manager was that we could cancel at any time after paying for the 3 months, which was the whole selling point and which matched up to the Stretch Lab website contract. Management would rather lose a loyal customer and over $1,000 for a membership start-up later in the year when our daughter needs it again, than to be a little flexible. It was more important to management that they receive their $289 for an additional one month than to be flexible knowing our daughter had plans to renew again once track season started back up, which would have made them well over $1,000. Not very business savvy. You would think the manager would have been more interested in getting a returning membership customer plus any of our daughters referrals than to be so stringent in sticking to her policy. No flexibility whatsoever, not even for a loyal customer who they had come to know due to her frequent visits. Very sad and unfortunate customer service from management at The Row location.
