Jovi the manager was so disrespectfully rude to my daughter who called to cancel, I called back to talk to someone else who was nice, she grabbed the phone from him and spoke to me confrontationally rude thinking that I was my daughter. Upon asking for someone else she said she was the only manager and I said no there's others, she said that I can wait til Monday, I said so there's nobody else tomorrow she said no. She was ridiculously rude and was absolutely no help to us. I'll be contacting corporate. read more

Best gym out there! They're not expensive and they're friendly plus extremely helpful. Plus they answer their phones best part they're open when they say they are. Other gyms say they're open at like 5AM but they won't even answer the phone then you drive all the way out to the place and they're closed! Plus they're very expensive. I was in town for three months . Asked what is the less expensive way to use the gym and cancel after three months. To avoid the annual fee they told me to cancel before the 1st of the month. They failed to tell me to cancel 7 days before the 1st to avoid annual fee. Totally misleading me. Facility is always dirty . At least 2-3 machines are always broken and don't get fixed for weeks. I like this gym. Nice staff and new equipment. However, they lose a star because of the TV channel selection. They have lots of TVs but of the 9 different channels, 2 are perpetually blank and 1 is on a 24/7 infomercial. I think only 2 are on sports stations that actually give some motivation to workout. read more

I'm new to the Madera area and was looking for a gym so I happened to drive by PF on Olive Ave in Madera. I walked in and was greeted by a friendly smiling face by the name of Andrew.. He said new to PF he probably figured since I was in a suit from a meeting that day, I said yes I'm curious about your gym I live close by. Andrew explained everything in detail for me and OMG the massage chair is like everything for me lol so I gotta say he's a great asset to your gym, knowledgeable and also recommended some good eats in the area. Joined recently it is clean and has a lot of equipment but the other day February 7,2023 went in and some individual was running up and down isles and jumped on the treadmill in front of me ! Went to another gym here in town. Same monthly charge. Gym is clean kept up maintenance wise and has courteous desk personnel. Members keep to their own. No annoying ex trainers/unfit members using any excuse to touch or interrupt your workout. As observed in other gyms. With the excuse they are correcting your form. This place has all the equipment needed. A tad strict. Making this place what it is. What else can I ask for? I am convinced that this is the place for me. P.S Always remain courteous. read more

The gym itself is well maintained & their equipment is still fairly new. Pros: fairly new equipment still. They have a lot of treadmills. Locker rooms are always clean Cons: customer service is lacking. Many of them don't greet or say good bye. Need more mats to be purchased. The hydromassage beds need to be fixed. I have to say, the staff here at Planet Fitness, Madera, CA are AWESOME! When we walked in, immediately we were greeted by Nae. She asked if this was our first time at Planet Fitness and we said yes and that we were interested in joining the gym. Right away, she told us the back story of Planet Fitness, who they were and what their mission was. (No intimidations, no looking down at anyone just because of who they were, etc.) We immediately felt comfortable as she gave us the walk through and was telling us about the various equipment. She was patient, courteous, respectful and nice. This also goes for the gentleman at the counter and the other employees at the counter. Needless to say, we joined the gym and hope that everyone here can take this review of the Madera Planet Fitness into consideration and join this gym that has hard working people who truly make Madera a better place! read more

I've been attending this gym for about 8 months, give or take... It has yet to let me down, The staff treat me well and even call me by name. I mostly attend in the late evening/early morning, but so far... this has been a good experience for me getting back into the swing of fitness! Personally Ive been to three locations and this one is amazing, if people want the gym to be clean please clean after yourselfs, you cant expect an employee to be cleaning right after you use a machine/station, they didn't get hire to be stuck with every person who checks in lol, plus everyone is different theres really dirty, lazy people and theres clean, considerate people. Wow I just can not believe what I just seen at planet fitness in madera drove up To the location and seen a homeless woman out front with all her bags and shopping cart as I started working out she came in and asked the front desk something next thing you know she went back out then came back in with a bag of stuff went to the restroom and took a shower it was like over 30 minutes I just had a feeling something was weird about it so I asked a employee did that lady have a membership she then asked the front desk the gentleman said yes she did I was finished with my work out went to the restroom she was still in the shower all this dirty stuff was all in a big pile and she was still in the shower. I told the employee I feel very uncomfortable about this situation and went back up to the front desk and asked them to confirm to me she had a membership the team leader who is in charge Jason could not remember her name I was not going to let this go he said to me why are you worried about it and I said I am a paying member and for my safety and others safety Finally he pulled me to the side and said he let her in to take a shower that is completely unacceptable to me that the manager of the place could do such a thing . I have paid up to $98-120 on a monthly memberships in LA and while the gym isn't necessarily fancy but it's super clean and gets the job done. I used during my school's winter break. I usually have trouble finding squat racks or bench presses that are open at my gym but these are pretty free all the time. I would go back this winter break but for just one month no commitment, (this is including start up) it is super pricy. It's cheaper to stick with it wouldn't recommend as a temporary gym while away from your usual one. Despite the comment below. Again I repeat not worth for just one month. It's like $70 including start up. There a nicer ones for less if you are looking for temporary. read more

I have the black card which allows me to bring a friend when I go. I have had no problems in the past bringing my son (who is 14) but this particular day I tyred to bring my other son (who is 13) and the lady at the front said that she needs to see a birth certificate to let him in. Who carrys there child's birth certificate with them?? And why wasn't I asked about my other child's birth certificate when I brought him?? Then she said she could do it with a school ID..that doesn't verify age so what's the point. Had to end up leaving not happy. read more

The one time I went at night, the people at the front desk where to busy talking about their white elephant party and giggling with each other. I have been coming to this gym since January...cant beat the price... wish it had a real bar to squat but overall I get in my workouts just fine... love going really early in the morning when no one is around... and love the fact that it's open 24 hours... the people at the front are always so nice... love the showers available always very clean... love the hydro massage after a good workout... read more

Good gym, I usually go after work around 5:15. There are a lot of stations to use. Staff is always nice but can become busy with other members. With my experience there is always something open. The bathrooms for men are always clean. The hydromassage for premium members is awesome! My only complaint is you can't carry you gym bag with you throughout the gym with you, the staff asks to keep it up front. read more

This gym is really reasonable priced here in our town not to many choices and the ones that there are are way over priced. The staff is pretty friendly here there are a couple of ladies that work in the morning that take their job a little to serious. You can't take your gym bag on the floor with you to workout you have to leave it in a locker their reasoning is so that no one trips or falls my first visit there I had it right next to me and one of the ladies walked all the way where I was to tell me I had to put it away, well I just left and as I walked out I noticed they were trying to upsell there planet fitness duffle bags, I said what is the point of buying those if you can't even put your water or whatever and have it next to you? This is probably the cleanest planet fitness I've been to! I visit from the L.A area and none of the gyms out here in L.A compare in cleanliness as this one. It seems like staff is always cleaning here lol. All the machines here work smoothly and I question if anyone even comes to workout. All in all staff is chill and I don't know why people are complaining about staff. I've been their in several occasions where it's the members who are hostile and feel entitled to tell off staff over their own ignorant mistakes like misplacing their keys, or not being aware of things stated in contracts, or not having a bank account to sign up. Dirty. Second time I have gotten a rash from their equipments only ever see the floors being swept or occasionally mopped and I am in here often 4-6 days a week. Never have I seen equipment been cleaned by staff at any time of the day I am there. I clean as much as I can before and after use but that clearly is not enough if I am breaking out because of dirty equipment. Instead of staff sitting in the back up against the wall on their phones, earn that minimum wage and be proud you have a job and clean. read more

I don't know what happened to the review I wrote. It was about the music. I don't care for hip hop or spanish hip hop. But, I guess I'm just an old, cranky man. I don't know why they can't lower the volume. Most people wear headphones, anyway. After I wrote a review the other day, the manager called and said he would lower the volume. Yesterday when I went in, it did seem a little lower. Today, it was business as usual. Makes for a bad workout for me. I'm thinking about talking to the other members, especially around my age, and do a group complaint. And, maybe write a letter to the editor to the local paper, about how businesses now a days don't really care or listen to their customers. Other than the music, I have no complaints. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the facility is clean. I don't talk to the staff about it anymore, because they say they have no control or the music, It's a corporate thing. I was a member for a year and a half, it was great until I had asked them to remove a card from my account as it wasnt mine (didn't have a card at the time borrowed moms and gave her money). I put my own card on there and asked them to remove hers. They assured me they did on 3 separate occasions. Begging if October her card was overdrawn 35 dollars after they took money from her account. An account that was no longer authorized to be used. I quit my membership immediately after this. I was very happy to see Planet Fitness coming to Madera.Our town needs variety and the new location needed an economic boost.Clean, pleasant gym, friendly front desk staff with the exception of the two trainers I have had experience with.Im sure it's the age, maturity level or lack of social interaction, working with the public,who knows.I see alot of clients walking around the gym with no guidance or anyone reaching-out to help them. Usually, people rarely will ask questions because they are shy or embarrassed,and as a trainer,they need to walk around the gym and approach gym members and show them how to use the equipment."No Intimation"means exactly that.There are alot of members that need help and are embarrassed to ask.I would like to see the Trainers be more personable,and reach out to members.I like this gym and would like to see it grow in our community. read more
