Dipping into year number 3 of absolutely consistent focused weight training. Even as I'm leaving…read morethe gym, I can't WAIT to get back in! I've increased my days and am now also doing the treadmill. Whatever insomnia I initially suffered from was RESOLVED the first week of training. It's virtually impossible to NOT fall asleep in 3-4 minutes and I mean EVERY NIGHT! That alone was worth getting busy, stopping with making excuses and taking greater responsibility for MY "HEALTH SPAN." Who else gonna do that? It's a super disciplined time of my life and that extends to every habit, what I eat, drink, watch, listen to, allow myself to be around and it's GOOD! I give all glory to God for giving me clarity with each issue, to not dither on important matters! I AM thinking about tomorrows and this gym, its variety, the proximity and the range of what's possible over time is intriguing. As a sci-fi fan, who years ago named his voice-controlled home, "Moon Base Alpha," it compliments my aesthetic. EVERY cell in your body will benefit and it doesn't hurt that I look like a freaking stud! lol Didn't set out that way, but I'll take it 'cause it came along with targeting my insomnia through weight training. Lot's of hormones going on at any gym and it's not hard to shut down 'the look' from both guys and gals. Psst, take a number! lol In no way is the gym a social thing for me. It's the most greedy/selfish time of the day, by NECESSITY! Any air expended beyond that to achieve lift, is conserved. The greatest gains I've made have been with prep/warm ups and doing each lift to exhaustion with only 1 or none left in the tank. Not hard to understand, it's a stimulus/response sending the signals to the cells to BUILD capacity. But here's the thing... Dedicated and consistent exercise/weight training WILL improve EVERY organ in the body when combined with a solid diet and hydration with unsweetened water. A case could be made for some carbs doing a 2 pulse hour of training. I'm using 50% watermelon juice and 50% water. Occasionally, post-workout I hit "ultra filtered milk" and some ovalteen. Although I'm not lactose intolerant, that u-filted milk is much higher in protein and calcium so I'm upping my intake. I do NOT use powders, creatine or health related 'products,' bars, drinks... Instead I use REAL foods, full of fiber and eat proteins with meals, tons of grains, fruits, veggies, nuts, yogurt, etc. I do NOT buy into all the gym bodybuilding hype out there with folks 'selling' stuff. And I know from my own gains that 'the fundamentals' are safer and it's working. As a guy with a mesomorph body type, it's getting good! Viking ancestor genes ACTIVATE! As expected, IF one does not simply begin somewhere, build gradually, and then put that work in, you may be kicking important cans down the road. With the understanding that there ARE 168 hours in the week, I asked myself 'how MANY of those hours are folks/myself actually investing/using?' It's an interesting question. All the personal benefits, gains, enhancements in body/mind/soul--the disease avoidance/mitigations possible--are among the things that I've come to most value. KNOWING the efforts are sound. And even if you're not 'shopping' it's always nice to be noticed positively. Like any tool used to accomplish a task, the gym is perhaps the most significant one I have to take advantage of and I'm grateful to the Lord for always providing what I most need, insight! Walking into the right decisions is critical! I can only imagine how this consistent effort will preserve and enhance function, independence and ability into every season of life! Highly social elsewhere, when I enter any GB3, it's TIME to get busy. The world stops turning, I don't respond to calls or texts. Here, I'm selfish and focused 'by NECESSITY.' The most talking likely to come from me is relegated to asking someone, "How many sets left?" :) -G

They focus a lot on each move when it comes to Olympic lifting. When working on any barbell move one must be willing to slow down, leave your ego at the door, and start with light weight until the movement comes naturally. This is paramount and both coaches are adamant about this. A great deal of focus is on proper stretching, this helps avoid injury which is also a great thing especially if you want to be 80 years old one day and still putting up some nice power cleans. In addition, Atlas Barbell and KBC Crossfit share a building. Barbell Club is a great transition for those of us that also want to do crossfit. Together, they are a great combination for anyone who is wanting to compete. I highly recommend Atlas Barbell.

I pay for my student athlete to go there and train he's watched like a hawk like he's stealing…read moresomething consistently by the owner. He states he pays 65 dollars a month to be restricted on when he can go to the gym. I thought it was a 24/7 gym? If you want to see men and women posing for content all day and the owner being unfair to his non groupies this is the gym for. These kids have been harassed by you multiple times. You're not correcting any one else in the gym and I noticed when I went multiple times. There were kids in the gym younger than 12 or 13 based on your comment. I know the coach you're speaking of. You're not going to state an actually degree beats a paper certificate that certifies roided out ego lifters. I'll be happy to verify any additional information in my practice that proves this. I watched and observed that same coach you are stating for years in my practice and disagree with the narcissist mindset from the owner who wants to control everything. I witnessed and talked to my child as he expressed you attempting to pouch him from the coach. Belittle what they are doing. Place people in place to prevent them from working out limit their interaction. Explain if they have a membership and paying full price why they have certain times to enter the gym? Now as one of many parents we gathered all information and the coach as stated he would talk to you and sort everything out, however after the disrespect and hostile takeover I am now taking everything in my own hands to come with resolutions and make sure my son and his friends are not being bullied by a social media wannabe promoter.

TL;DR: large selection of mostly new/state of the art weightlifting equipment plus decent amenities…read morefor the price, however the AC and ambiance of this place need serious work. I moved to CA about a little over a year ago and have been coming here a few times weekly ever since, what drew me to this place is the equipment. They have a lot of dedicated weight lifting machines, some of which is state of the art. Overall hard to find in Fresno, especially in good condition. I don't use the amenities, but they also offer about every amenity you could ask of a gym, plus they have very accessible hours. Two big reasons for the review I left: AC and atmosphere. I don't think they turn on the AC, it is usually hotter inside than it is outside and it's been over 100 degrees lately, I'm looking for somewhere else to do cardio. This is coming from someone who's a healthy weight - leaning underweight. Someone could easily pass out from heat exhaustion, it's a legitimate health concern. The second reason being the atmosphere, (granted the establishment itself can only do so much) this place attracts lifters with big egos and bravado who will intentionally step over people. Before coming to Trinity I've gone to many different chain gyms, brands and locations, in CA and my home state. I've never once had the type of negative experiences I've had here. Multiple times I've had people take equipment/weights that I was clearly using while maintaining eye contact. If it had only happened once or twice I wouldn't mention it, but it seems to be getting more common. It's not a one off thing at this point. For what it's worth, common decency and proper gym etiquette isn't lost on everyone here. But it's worth noting if you'd like to avoid these situations. I come alone and I keep to myself, this shouldn't be a recurring issue. Again, management can only do so much about it, but considering they can threaten to charge me extra for the one time I left one plate on a machine then they certainly know who's commonly acting like a jerk. Plus, this is an issue I've never had at any other commercial gym. I will say the owner and front desk attendees seem generally very nice.
