I've been to Alit twice now. I used the online reservation both times. Both times it was quieter and we got to choose where we wanted to sit. My first experience was a late Sunday afternoon with a friend and there was only one girl working, who was great. She was attentive and knowledgeable. The second time, two guys were working. One with glasses who seemed clean cut and professional. I had to flag him down a few times because the other male employee was not paying attention at all. The male employee who was our primary interaction looked sloppy. His nails were dirty, and yes, I notice that because it's a pet peeve of mine. And you should have clean hands and nails working in hospitality in a customer facing role. My first trip I ordered the $25/person flight. The wines were all good and I thought Rock, River and Angel Crest were excellent. For the membership fee, I decided to join that day because I wanted to buy some wine and I knew I would be back to buy more at such an affordable price! I also find the tasting room absolutely charming. I love the rustic feel. Our second visit I ordered the basic flight, free to members. I liked a whopping 0 of the wines. I had sips of most and was done. I sat for a good 15-20 minutes before our clueless server figured out I was trying to get his attention. I ordered us glasses of the Rock and River and that took quite some time to get to as well. So I was less than thrilled with my second experience as far as service goes, but I do love those three wines!!! I'll be back for more tastings and more wine!

I really enjoyed my visit. You can get a glass, they are open until 7pm. I think that's summer hours so check before you visit. They are right on 99. Nice staff

I was really pleasantly surprised by everything!! Lovely atmosphere, great staff, house dog, Raffi and the quality of the wine is amazing. Their club has a unique structure and is a great value. Sunday music in the summer, sublime!

$6 flights! Let me repeat, $6! Yep, before I even tried the wines I was already impressed that you could get a flight of four wines for $6. A flight of four pinots will cost you $15. Do what my friends did and order both flights and share. The Chardonnay and Rose were the fan favorites from the $6 flights. The Rose might have been the best Rose I've ever had and it had notes of watermelon. A bottle only cost you like $15 too. The Pinot flight was a fun experience. They start you off with The Flood and The Fire. Both wines were grown, harvested, and produced the exact same way EXCEPT they were grown in different soil. It's interesting, before even tasting the wines you could smell a distinct difference. The tastes were different as well. The Flood had a fuller body and a slight tart taste, whereas The Fire was smooth. The fourth wine called The Last Chapter was grown in both soils and perfectly blended the fuller body and smooth flavors creating a fantastic pinot. It's so interesting how even the soil can change the flavor of wine. All in all, this place was a delight and I can't wait to come back next time I'm in Dundee.

We did a spontaneous drop-in on the way home from the coast and so glad we did. I absolutely love the champagne they have here... left with a couple bottles of it. We lounged here for at least a hour... the place is super comfy - I love how it's decorated... especially the chandeliers made out of the roots from a vineyard. The owner served us and he was super cool. Would definitely come here again

Alit winery is a rebranding of whatever was in this space previously. New owners, new winemaker and a new tasting room/ hospitality manager make this the hottest new experience in the esteemed winemaking Willamette Valley region. The winemaker approaches his craft with a higher acid content which results in a more crisp (refreshing) flavor to his Chardonnay. And let's talk about his Pinot Noir- WOW! What a treat! The nose on this wine is rich and woody with tremendous depth and complexity that is unusual with other Oregon Pinots. The flavor profile is amazing and surprisingly big with hints of oak, pepper and plum. The tasting room is modern and chic with a hip, contemporary vibe. The space is light filled and the dark vine roots (from their own grapes) hanging from the ceiling and cork paneling balance the white walls nicely. Deep house/ alt rock music adds to the experience that sets it apart from it's more mainstream and conservative neighbors (come hither hipsters). The wine club approaches the customer interaction differently as well. It's more of a membership fee that gives you access to events and significant wine discounts versus the more common mandatory, twice-a-year purchase requirement of other wineries. The entire experience was refreshing with a millennial take on the wine country experience. The wine is delicious and approachable. Check it out before this becomes the must visit spot in Dundee.

This winery recently opened in the first floor of the Dundee hotel. It's closer to 99W so when you come in from the parking lot, you will pass a couple other wineries. This is one of five wineries and a restaurant that is in the first floor of the Dundee hotel. Our server was named Kalina, and she was so nice and personable. She had recently come back from working in a winery in Australia. I was impressed with her knowledge of wine, but she explained that she started working in wineries back when she was just 15 helping with events/weddings at a family friend's winery. She had worked at several wineries even though she was just in her twenties. The winery itself also had lots of charm and was very calming with the soft pink furnishings and relaxing sofa and chairs. The design was on point and chic. We enjoyed all the wines. Kalina even gave us a small bowl of gourmet popcorn to compliment some of the wines. I definitely will come back to this spot for another tasting or a glass of wine. Our server also said that on the third Thursday of every month they do complimentary pours and have either live music or artists at the various wineries in the building as part of a collaborative art walk within Dundee. Currently the wine tastings are $30 per person, but if you are a guest at the hotel they have a BOGO special. This winery is definitely a special spot to check out if you are planning a day trip to Oregon wine country. This wine tasting was definitely a highlight of my summer. Reservations and recommended, but definitely not required - and the experience was truly lovely.

Great spot for a date night, special family celebration dinner, or catch-up with good friends. Loved the elderly couple who came for drinks and dessert only! First starter was the clam special in white, smooth broth with leeks, served with two big slices of crispy focaccia. YUM. I didn't think 25 clams would be enough to fill me up, but I was wrong, and this special was great. Second starter was the duck confit salad, and the duck leg was cooked perfectly, skin on. Husband liked the matchstick apples and cherry vinaigrette but thought the blue cheese was overpowering. First entree was the king prawn pasta alla vodka, and the noodles were overcooked - fastest way to kill a meal. Prawns cooked perfectly, but the noodles were mush in an otherwise nice sauce. Husband and I both loved his butternut soup, drizzled with good quality EVOO and rich texture. Curious what other ingredients they use (or where they get their butternuts) because their soup was WAY better than anything I've made at home. Dessert was fab: lemon mousse topped with vanilla pavlova. We saw another table order one of each dessert, but their lemon mousse went first, which sealed our decision! Would recommend for anyone passing through Dundee - just skip the pasta.

We had a great time here, and while most the family does not drink a lot of wine, there was something for everyone here. The owner, David, greeted us as we walked in and sat us at the large table in this small tasting room. He sat with us for most of the tasting, describing the wines in detail, telling us the history, describing how the land around Oregon varies and how it impacts the wine. It was really interesting and he so helpful and open to answering all of our questions. You can tell how knowledgeable and passionate he is about his wines and he made our experience really unique. The wines themselves were great, and we left purchasing 2 bottles of the 5 wines we tried. While they have a variety of wines, their white wines, especially the Sauvignon Blanc and the Pinot Blanc, were phenomenal and I highly recommend. The tastings are really reasonably priced at $25 and their bottles were also well priced. The tasting room itself is very laid back and casual. It is decorated and feels as if you are just sitting in a relatives living room enjoying a glass of wine, so if you are looking for the instagram shot of a glass of wine over a vineyard during a sunset, this is not the place, but if you enjoy kicking back and enjoying solid wine in a more laid back setting with folks who care about their wines, then look no further!

We are glad it was the Newbergundian Bistro. We had to start with a Croissant. It was very flavorful, but it was bit soft, not the perfect crunch that we love. He had some cool music groovin', some old vinyls alongside the bar, and with my Pliny in hand, I wanted to spend the rest of the day here chatting up the locals. If I lived in town, you'd probably find me here more often than the Pelican. You can always find fresh Russian River beers on tap and for sale in bottles here. Ask me how I know? Why don't you ask them? :) The wine is really well priced, lots of Cabs and Syrahs, (try the Reversal Syrah!) and as they said on their menu, good for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday night drinking.... We noticed Chenin, Shawn's wife wasn't around that day and found she was at the PSU Farmer's market where they attend all summer. Shawn also told me you can find them Thursday evenings at another Farmer's market in the Pearl in Portland. Sweet. As much as I love coming to Pacific City, it's also nice to know we can find their wine in Portland in the summertime since they don't sell it retail in stores. An hour later, (maybe two?) we left smiling with two bottles of wine, the Basket Case Syrah and a red table wine in hand, and two empty pint glasses of Pliny on the bar.
