Best studio I've been to in BK! Love the staff, classes and the studio space!

One of my favorite yoga studios on classpass but also just in life!! What really makes this is a five star experience are the phenomenal teachers. I've taken classes with Jaclyn, Lea, and Laura and left class smiling every time. They are encouraging, have great energy, and always make helpful corrections and offer step-by-step approaches to achieving some of the more challenging poses (like crow, a pose I was sure would always be beyond me before I started class here). I mostly take the vinyasa classes but their schedule also has a nice variety of restorative, Pilates, and some yoga wall. The space itself is clean, nicely kept, and charming. The studio itself is one flight above street level and faces out onto 5th ave. There aren't showers, but there are little changing cubicles. read more

I found Align through ClassPass and I am so very happy I did! I had a wonderful experience there. I took the Align Barre Blend class with Kristina who had really great energy. I loved that the class catered to more than one level. The instructor was encouraging and offered modifications for exercises that may have been too challenging for some. Dr Brown is the best chiropractor I have ever had work on my back. Unlike most I've seen he takes the time to explain how the whole body works and how back pain is realted to other parts of the body. He has taken the time on multiple occasions to show me stretches that address back pain and also connected that to the rest of the body. He has a clear commitment to holistic health. His price structure is suited to meet the needs of working class people and on top of all this he is a fine human being who exhibts a general concern for the welfare of his patients. read more

Great studio! Love the focus on well...alignment. Clean and lots of props. You will definitely get an amazing stretch and feel fantastic after class. I have really enjoyed yoga classes with Beau and Sadia. They are both very knowledgeable and passionate and lovely. This is not a complaint-just an observation-I wish the evening weekday yoga classes were a little earlier...sometimes 7:30pm is just a little too late for me. But, seriously, terrific place. Try it! Just tried a few classes at Align for the first time. It's awesome! I live nearby, and ever since moving to this neighborhood a couple years ago, I've been longing for a place to practice yoga and pilates in south slope. This studio is really comfortable and nice, with a big window overlooking the street, so it gets great light. In addition to yoga and pilates, there are some cool circuit classes and barre-type classes, all with an "alignment" mindset. Because of the great mix of classes, You can get a really well rounded worked at this studio. Also, the people have been really nice and welcoming. Another plus. I can't tell you how disappointed I am in leaving a community in which I hold deep affection towards . Pam, Bea, Jacklyn, Sadia and some of my fellow yoginis. I have fallen in love with Yoga and I'm eternally grateful for the transformation it has brought me spiritually and mentally. I know I have a long way to go, but I am embracing the journey and open to whatever it brings me. Beau is indisputably an extraordinary teacher. Her passion for the practice, her energy, her warmth, resonates deeply with me. She became a mentor for me. Someone who I'm sad to say good-bye too, truthfully. She is a hands on teacher, with genuine and absolute focus on her students. She gently pushes you to challenge yourself, while respecting and acknowledging (even before we do) we can't push any further. She's a STAR. She's exceptional. Sadia and Jacklyn are also both amazing teachers. Both also very caring and attentive to the class, their students. Walking around, helping all of us with alignment and always reminding us to BREATHE. God! If I only knew how important breathing was when I was younger, I would have saved myself a lot of anxiety. I got a $20 intro week and there was some confusion about my payment. It turned out that my name had been misspelled with my last name having been recorded as both my first and last name. That was an honest mistake and I would think nothing of it until whoever signed me into my second class insinuated multiple times that I hadn't paid. That was frustrating and insulting. When he did find me in the system and caught the mistake, he didn't apologize. I attended three classes during my intro week and the instructors ranged from great to dangerously mediocre. For instance, there was an instructor that assisted me and helped me align my body safely and effectively. In contrast, there was another instructor who would jerk my body without care for whether I had an injury or not. I really experienced a range of quality in instruction. Moreover, the yoga wall seemed like a gimmick considering how much class time was taken to talk about its use when compared to how much time was spent actually using it. Honestly, there are other studios in New York that are of greater value. read more

I enjoy the wide variety of classes offered at Align. After a week of 3-5 classes every muscle group feels pushed to its limit and quickly building strength and endurance. Most importantly, each class is centered around preventing injury and encourages finding proper alignment in all poses. Dr Chris Brown helped me discover why I have lower back pain, and Align classes are really helping me to train my body and mind to find proper alignment to prevent further injury. read more

I would give Align Brooklyn an infinite number of stars if I could. After an ankle injury half a year ago, I completely stopped exercising for a few months. The last two months I've been regularly attending classes (Align Fusion, Align Barre Blend, Align 1:10, Align 60) and have seen my body become so much stronger. The classes have been instrumental to my core and strength training, which as a runner is so crucial (and too often neglected). The classes are done in bare feet, which is great for proprioception and has helped my ankle tenfold. There is really no place like Align Brooklyn -- the teachers are so kind, motivating, intelligent, and inspiring. They always make you feel comfortable and the emphasis on proper form is so appreciated. The music is on point. I'm going back to school soon but I would consider moving back after I graduate just so I can keep coming to the studio! read more

I started taking classes here a few months back and love it. I do wish they kept the align 1:10 class in the evening, but it was definitely worth getting my butt up early in the morning to attend during the week and on Saturday! I frequented the align 1:10, align 60 and align fusion classes, which boost your heart rate a lot more than the typical yoga or pilates class -- I loved it. I originally joined the gym to lose the weight I gained in my relationship -- with these classes, some running and a better diet, I was able to drop 10lbs. I am moving to the Boston area here in a week and had to leave the studio -- I am sad I may not be able to find a similar spot where I will be living. read more

Align has a great selection of classes. I have been coming to this studio for two months and the classes (along with Dr. Brown) are helping me get my fitness back after a series of injuries. Studio is nice and the instructors are great, I particularly enjoy the Alignment class with Cat and the foam rolling class with Sarah. Now that some of my pain has subsided I have begun taking the kettlebell class which is challenging but definitely beneficial. The only thing I would change would be perhaps to add more classes during the afternoon and maybe another class that emphasizes foam rolling and recovery. read more

As a novice, I found Sarah's instructions to be very clear & well-paced. So much so that, by the end of class I was able to learn the names of several poses, as well as, the muscle groups that they engage. read more

Love this studio. I mainly go to the Saturday morning class with Chris. I would love to take more classes at this studio, but working long hours in Manhattan prevents me from doing so. You can tell that Chris really knows his sh#%! and that he cares about the people, he tries to even remember our names. I've been going to Chris' class on and off for a couple of months now, and I find myself becoming stronger. Will definitely continue to attend this studio as long as my schedule allows. I had been looking for a vigorous flow class with great music and a dynamic teacher. So much harder to find than I imagined! But today I hit gold: Nicole's Monday morning class ticked all the boxes. I love Align! Working out at Align over the past two years, I've finally been able to develop a regular fitness routine that is diverse, challenging, and fun. I love the combination of HIIT, Pilates, Barre, and Yoga classes that I can mix and match each week as my schedule fluctuates. All of the instructors have their own style and personality but there is common thread through all of the classes - a focus on good alignment and modifications for people at different levels, or those with injuries/special needs. I started coming to the studio because of Beau's amazingly rejuvenating yoga classes, and I've become a regular because of the warm and welcoming environment cultivated by everyone who there. LOVE Align Brooklyn! I've been attending classes for the past six months - trying many different classes (both in and out of my comfort zone!) with different instructors and have truly loved ALL of them! Align is a lovely and welcoming physical space - very clean and organized with a fresh and relaxing scent. The Align staff and instructors really make you feel that they are there for you and your body. The classes are challenging and incredibly rewarding. Love this gem of a studio! It's exactly the perfect balance between challenging, nurturing and encouraging. I have their unlimited package which is a great deal. I love all the classes, especially Dr Browns classes. He is the real deal: challenging classes that are curated by his deep base of knowledgeable. Align is a very special yoga studio. I have taken different yoga and Pilate classes and the teachers are knowledgeable and dynamic -- always having patience and time to explain techniques. Last year while recovering from a sports injury I worked with an amazing Pilates instructor on a one-on-one bases. Within four weeks my recovery was complete. I can go on and on about the classes at Align, but what is most important is the community the directors and instructors have created. I love this studio. Christopher and Lizzy are incredibly skilled at evaluating your needs and developing an intense personalized workout. They also have the technical expertise to really challenge you while making sure you avoid injury. I also have a weekly chiropractic adjustment with Chris and I've never felt more balanced and aligned. read more

As someone who had never taken yoga or pilates classes before, I had an excellent experience at this studio. I tried a variety of classes as part of their unlimited week intro deal, and I thought the different instructors did a great job of being accommodating to the class' needs within the actual structure of the activity. I do wish they had more class times available in the noon/afternoon (but not evening) time, but I found it completely worth getting up early or coming in later for. I didn't try the wall nor the high-energy classes, but would give them a go in the future. The check-in and front desk person, Pam, remembered me after a few days of coming in for that intro week - she is great at customer service and clearly a nice person. read more
