They observed wear on the prongs that held the main diamond in place, and recommended fixing those as well. We were a little hesitant to move forward with fixing the unstable prongs, because the original design is extremely intricate. We did not want to risk losing the vintage character, but the professional at Sam's assured us that they would pay close attention to detail of the original design. With that said, we went for it. I picked up the ring after about a little more than a week, and it is flawless! The crack on the band was seamlessly repaired, without the slightest sign that it was ever broken. And the prongs....the ones we were so worried about...are flawless! They brought a 100-yr old ring back to life, without losing its character! Highly recommended and we will definitely be back.
