Not very nice people, I don't understand that I'm a licensed holder of a firearm and these people only would sell AR-15s to the police only, It's ok if you sell to the police stations but they somewhat call themselves saving rifles for their police buddies that work for their building, I call it bullshit and pretty much friends helping friends and not giving two f@/ks about your customers to include they sold me a DJ console without the power cord but if someone brings them the exact same console, they would want the power cord and to see it powered up..... I'm not sure how this place stays in business since I only see 3-4 cars in the parking lot when I drive by...it used to be packed. I purchased a silver Maple leaf and they tried to charge sales tax on bullion. The law changed exempting sales tax on precious metal bullion a year before my transaction. I called ahead of time and spoke to JR, for an item that's was posted on Facebook. Long story short it took a few moments to connect with him. Which made sense why it took a while to connect with him when I got to the pawn shop. This place is a mini Buc-ee's, it's extremely busy. JR offered to put it on hold while I made it to the store. The drive wasn't that bad as I took 635 to 30, plus it was after 7 on a Saturday. I made it to the location and Jr had it on hold. I had inspected the item and it was in deed in like new quality. Jr did message me pictures of the item to ensure it was it before I drove to the location. Overall I was satisfied with the level of purchase. I think and feel if you effectively communicate with these guys, they will listen. I felt jr respected my time and the end of the day he didn't want to waste my time. If you need a gun, riding lawn mower, fishing poll, or jewelry this may be your place. But don't expect to get to much of a deal. The store was busy; two or three customers waiting for every employee that I could see; so I posted up over my pistol and waited my turn. It wasn't long before someone came to help me; I was taken straight to the front counter to fill out my paperwork; very fast service. They made me offers with in moments of looking at what I Has to offer them. Some things they had to test to make sure it worked etc. They didn't buy everything, but they met my expectations which really were not that high. I've been going here for over a year just buying knick knacks like DVDs and Bluerays at 5 for $20 and some used tools. The marked price is pretty much the same as retail for a new item at big box retailer like Lowes or Home Depot. They generally give it to you at approximately 25%-30% marked price. I've been eyeing this gold necklace the last three times I went so I ask for the price and try them on. It was marked $379 and I was informed I can have it for $330. I went back a week later just went they started the mothers day sale (30% off jewelry) and a different lady said I can have it for $260 out the door, meaning tax included. With the sale at 30% off it would be $265 before tax. Well, it's not a super big expense but it's not a small one either so I said I'll come back the next business day with my husband to get it. The next business day, the Mother Day sale was still going on, of course I ask again, a different lady this time and was told that it would be $330 because of *some exclusion applies*. I said at 30% off it would only be $265 and I was offered $260 out the door. She checked with the manager to see if they would honor it and they weren't and would not sell it to me for that price and was firm on $330 and I would have to come back to see the lady that told me it was $260 for that price. Well, I guess a manager is good for nothing!!! Are you seriously kidding me? What is being excluded in the sale? Everything I touch??? I'm very disappointed in this establishment and their unwillingness to honor their staff price. I will not be back for this necklace. read more

The place has been cleaned up and organized better than a few years ago. Looks ro be a big focus on loans, maybe short term loans. I did not look real closely at that area as I was looking for items to purchase. The few items (tools etc. )I would have been interested in purchasing were priced at or above retail. After a less than pleasing visit to another pawn store, I called ahead to this location to inquire about selling my car stereo as the last spot told me it would still have to be connected to the car to be tested (...??) The associate said it would be no problem that it could be tested there. I am fairly new in the pawn world and I was impressed by the size and cleanliness. American Pawn is hit or miss. It's definitely a "super store" in the sense that's it's very large and they have just about anything you care to look for in a pawn shop. The down side is that it feels a little sketchy. I can't quite explain it, but if you walk in here you'll know what I mean. I definitely wore them down on price, and I'm sure they still made some decent profit on me. I bought a subwoofer mounted in a box and an amp. Definitely don't pay the price they have listed on anything, they will certainly come down. Their selection of car audio stuff kind of sucks though, at least it did when I was here. I lucked out finding something that would work for me. There were a few speakers that were broken when we tested them. Make sure you have them test any sub/amp or speakers before you leave the store with them. read more

I've been to plenty of pawnshops all over Dallas and this one is definitely the largest one I've been to. I've been here a few times and saved a ton of money. If you plan on buying anything make sure to have it tested first. The review done by A. B is totally fd up. If you have never been bite by a shark then you shouldn't talk about it. Of course things are going to be priced high because you have to haggle. Most of everything in Walmart is made in china so it's going to be cheap.
