I got the physical care that was expected out of this practice but my months of asking for more mental health support and resources were undermined or straight up ignored. For example, I told Dr. Anvekar that I have been banging my head against my steering wheel in a moment of break down, and the response was "it sounds like you are totally exhausted and picked a virus as a result". My mental health was disregarded on multiple occasions and I'm really disappointed in how my time as a client ended. Editing for clarity and to respond to you: in 2023 when I began at your practice, I was not under the care of a psychiatrist, I had not seen one since pre pandemic which is partly why I began my care with you. I'm not sure where you have the information that I was not taking the medication my psychiatrist recommended if I didn't have one. If you could provide me with the name of the so called psychiatrist I would be able to respond to that claim in more detail. I have always taken my prescribed medications. Your mental health referrals in July of this year both had full case loads and as you said during your referral, "most aren't taking new clients due to the fires and it's effects on mental health" read more

Since moving to the area this is my go to spot for IV infusions before I travel. Dr. Anvekar was available to customize my drip which I GREATLY appreciated. I casually commented that I had a genetic mutation and she added that she was familiar with it and even had a special formulation of vitamins for the mutations that not very many healthcare providers can provide. The vitamin IV therapy here is top-notch. I have stage 4 breast cancer so I need all the help I can get. Doctor's response to my initial review still did not address the main issue ~ they do accept new patients if you are willing to pay thousands of $ for their "concierge services", a plague that's been spreading among so many general practitioners since Covid. If I pay for my health insurance and this office agreed to participate in their network, then why is it that they will not see new patients unless they pay even more directly to the doctor's office, each year? This practice needs to stop, there are fewer and fewer available doctors in the area because they started cutting back on their business hours to allow for this new type of clientele in town. Within the first 5 minutes of chatting with her, I knew that she'd be the type of doctor I can partner with to take control of my own health, under her wise counsel and support. Her entire staff is amazing, so if you read through the reviews and see a couple of comments about people's interactions with her receptionist, my advice is to take that with a grain of salt. Erika is kind and compassionate--and Dr. Anvekar is lucky to have someone as warm (and smart!) her on the team. If you're in the market for a healthcare professional who will offer a 'quick fix', this practice may not be for you. I feel so fortunate to have found Dr. Anvekar a few years ago. She is always available to answer questions, refer to a specialist or see me or my kids at a moment's notice. Her attention to each of us goes above and beyond of what I used to get with my previous PCP. She is always learning and applying new research and techniques into her practice. Recently, I had genetic testing done by her that helped us focus on appropriate supplementation and methylation to ensure that my body, at a cellular level, is functioning at its best. I have been seeing Dr. Anvekar for over 15 years. My entire family goes to her and many of our friends have switched over to her care over the years as well. She has such a warm bedside manner. She advocates for her patients. She doesn't rush any of of her patients out of her office. She isn't one of those doctors that only knows your name because your chart is in her hands. She knows exactly who her patients are and what their specific needs are. She has been available for my care on Christmas Eve when I have bronchitis and one Easter Day when I managed to get pink eye. WOW! After struggling for almost a year with odd symptoms post-COVID, and then becoming frustrated with four different specialists, each of whom addressed siloed symptoms, i was delighted to find Dr. Anvekar who connected all the dots for me and simply said "your immune system is on overdrive and you're a ball of inflammation.' That's it. From the first IV infusion of her special recipe with a megadose of glutathione, I felt the change. By the time i reached my car, my hands felt cooler, and not like hot mickey mouse gloves. Within two hours, my blurred vision (inflammation) cleared like i was given a new set of glasses. The crushing fatigue, joint pain, HEAT, foot pain, and disturbed sleep so many long-haulers struggle with is ~70% improved after two weeks of infusions. Two weeks in, my blood pressure has dropped 10 points; my resting heart rate is down 15, and i bet my next blood panel will show a decrease in prediabetic markers. I had a very mixed time at this center. While I felt Dr. Anvekar was a good doctor who genuinely cared I had a negative experience with the front office on a somewhat regular occasion which really muddied the quality of care I received. Curt and cold communications with Erika were a major deterrent to seeing the Doctor. Additionally, when I was seeing neurofeedback therapy I was mishandled as a patient on a level that I have not been treated by any medical facility. Again the issue being office policy/front office communication rather than direct medical care however there is an overlap in a patient's experience to some degree and FO care needs to match the standard of medical care. I have spoken with other doctors about the difficulty I faced here and have been told by medical professionals that the communication or lack thereof I received by the front office was highly unprofessional and ethically unsound to which I reluctantly agree. Dr. Anvekar tried to address my concerns later after I voiced them but by then I was completely burnt out on the center and had no desire to be there. This marks my first negative review, as I find the practice unsavory. However, with the price of medical care and the seriousness of medical care, I think it is important to share my experience. read more

What a blessing it is to have the Leela Center in my life and in my family's life. I have been a patient of Dr. Anvekar's since spring of 2011 after being hospitalized for 3 days with stroke symptoms. I needed a doctor who was not only knowledgeable but cared for me and would fight for me. And she has been that doctor and more. She didn't just put me on high blood pressure meds, she was curious and investigated and came up with a holistic solution to lower my blood pressure and discover my previously unknown sensitivity to sodium. Alexis Anvekar is the perfect blend of medical doctor, health coach and friend. She take the time to fully investigate every aspect of your health. She does the most thorough examination including a full panel of blood tests to determine your overall health, combined with body fat analysis, EKG, hearing, lung capacity and a battery of other tests. She combines this all with an inquisitive history taking, taking into account your stress, exercise and dietary practices. She then does a thorough physical examination. On your next visit the findings are presented and a plan is laid out to help you achieve optimum health. The plan is more likely to use vitamins, a clean diet, exercise or biofeedback to set you on a path of longevity and feeling great. I had a poor report on on my A1C and lipid panel, andDr. Anvekar would have been within the medical standard to put me on Statin drugs. Dr. Anvekar patiently explained how to improve without taking drugs, by making simple changes to my diet and by taking supplements. She really took the time to communicate with me and in a way that made me feel valued and cared for. (I have heard the same reports from several other patients who see her) I was back in 6 weeks and all my tests were in the healthy range. I also have to tell you that she has saved my life twice in the last 3 or 4 years by getting me in for an immediate appointment and getting the right medical care when I needed it. Beyond that, Dr, Anvekar is kind and compassionate and always upbeat. Her office walls are decorated with beautiful photography of her children with upbeat quotes on them such as: "Don't wait for all the lights to turn green before deciding to go to town" She is well supported with a very friendly and humorous nurse "Painless Kim" who makes you feel right at home. I highly recommend Dr. Anvekar. She genuinely cares for her patients and wants them to be healthy and well. I moved to her practice after suffering from "depression" for many years. My previous doctor sat with me for 5 minutes and handed out prescriptions. Dr. Anvekar sat with me for 45 minutes! She does this every time! After trying some new medication with not much relief Dr. Anvekar suggested I try Neurofeedback. This has been amazing! I am completely off my medicine. In addition, Dr. Anvekar took the time to review my blood work in detail and found that I was difficient in a couple of hormones. She has referred me to a specialist for that. I called the office a few weeks ago to inquire about the membership to this concierge practice, and the receptionist Erica answered the call. She was very short with me and put me on hold for 10 minutes. I did not mind being on hold, but when she answered my call again, before I had the chance to say anything, she rushed and said there is a waiting list. When I asked her regarding the waiting list, she interrupted me and said "Please call back again. Thank you" and hung up. I called again. Another woman answered, I believe her name was Kim. She transferred me back to Erica. She answered right away. When I asked her the same question regarding membership, she replied with the harshest tone, "I told you already, there is a waiting list." I froze as I was appalled at how this woman spoke to me. After a brief pause, the line disconnected, and I assume she hung up on me for the second time. All this while, I was polite to her, even though she was testing my patience. That was the last of it. I did not take my business here. Poor etiquette truly degrades a business and this is a big example of that. I have now found a commendable concierge physician and the staff there are very courteous. My wife and I are happy. Glad this place did not work out. Hope the people on the waiting list consider the doctor my wife and I go to now. I haven't gotten a chance to be a part of this practice, but I do not get a good feeling from the interactions I have had (or the lack of). A rude girl answered my call the other day. I'm assuming she's the receptionist. I called to ask if I could see Dr. Anvecar regarding a medical condition and if there was any waiting involved. I don't know if she was having a bad or she's always that disrespectful, but her tone of voice was not appealing. I would not have staff like that work under me. Patient care is about people they are serving. It seemed to me this girl on the phone was pouring all her frustrations on me. All I did was ask a simple question regarding the doctor's availability.
