Luckily for me, a quick web search revealed that Yoga-4U was an easy drive from my home. Kim returned my voicemail the same day, and worked me in to her schedule that week. When I arrived at her studio, I was greeted by a personal message on the door, and a lovely area for storing my shoes before entering. Inside, the studio was spacious, clean, and peaceful, with music quietly playing and a water fountain gently trickling. Kim explained a little about restorative yoga, and provided me with a clean eye mask and a sock used for grounding. She also asked whether I was okay with essential oils, which she generally uses during the sessions. I especially appreciated this, because I am very aroma-sensitive. During the session, Kim clearly explained the process of assuming the required positioning, and expertly arranged bolsters to provide the needed support. During a subsequent session, I was having more neck pain than usual. Kim adapted on the fly, changing her plan for the session to avoid placing any further stress on my neck. Kim is a warm presence, a caring professional. I really didn't know what to expect from restorative yoga, but under Kim's guidance, I find it to be very revelatory in terms of identifying the areas of my body where I didn't even realize I was holding tension. I went into one of their cabins. You are floating in a foot of warm water concentrated with 1,000 pounds of Epsom salts with meditative music and soothing mood lighting in the tank. You can opt to turn off all lights and sound to completely unplug. After my 1 hour session, I was relaxed, pain free and refreshed to proceed with my day. Highly recommend! Especially for busy stressed out moms.

I went last night to a complementary class together with a friend and we left not only very well stretched and relaxed (I slept 10 hours last night, maybe was also the added bonus of that French lavender pouch covering my eyes during the last 10 minutes of the class!) but very motivated. The yoga instructor emanated a very spiritual vibe, talking during the class about sympathy versus empathy and the power of active listening. And those ommms put you in the zone! Very welcoming studio, nice pale apple green color in the wall, big capacity but not overtly huge, clean and with the climate of a real practice going on (not too much light, the way I like it). I think the instructor made a big difference, I don't know how other teachers are there, but she was awesome. Also, they offer free classes for the military veterans and families, instructed by volunteers. This is a great opportunity for those who don't know the power of yoga and can enjoy it for free in a soothing environment!

The class wasn't on fire but heated and I was still drenched in sweat afterwards but I wasn't gonna keel over and die like in the hot clases here. Yasmine's instruction is so solid and so good. Her play list is very good and this just an A+ class. This is my second time taking her class. When I come back to YogaSix, I am mainly going to take Yasmine's classes. Hard to get any better than her classes. Thank you again! Im not joining this studio as a member but occasionally I will come here as its close to where I am and like this heated flow class a lot.

Also if you want to purchase classes instead of a monthly membership the least expensive option is 10 classes for $319 which brings drop in classes to about $32 per class. I was hoping for more options there. Other than that the classes are great, I hope they pay their instructors well - Jacob is my favorite for a chill vibe.

Benny is very helpful when there's a new people that are just getting started. At first I felt like a fish out of water, but now I'm swimming well! She mentioned at my first class with her that those that practice yoga with her at Shafa Yoga are like her family, and she takes care of her family. This mindset is shown throughout her practice with those that show up to her classes. Every class, she asks what we want to work on. This could be restorative, stretching, working out your core, or focusing on a specific body part that's been in pain. Newsha is welcoming and accommodating. Every class is different because she has new flows to share. There is purpose behind every stretch, and I love that she is able to provide more of a scientific / anatomy background, which is different than any yoga studio I've ever been to. I signed up for one month only and realized I couldn't do it because of my shoulders. I advised them and they acknowledged that I was no longer going to be part of Pilates. They continued to make monthly charges of $215 even though they acknowledged I was quitting. When I called them about it, they said they could only partially refund my money. I tried several times to reach out to the owner but she never responded. I reached Alex the manager at Poway Pilates and she tried to help but said I would have to deal with the manager or owner over her. BEWARE you won't get your money back if they screw up.
