Lisa is a FANTASTIC nutritionist. I came to Lisa a few years ago with thyroid disease, high blood…read moresugar and the beginning stages of diabetes, lethargy, skin problems, depression, and the inability to lose weight safely and steadily.
I grew up in a family that had all the medicine (and a few kitchen) cabinets completely packed to the brim with pill bottles, and with all kinds of health problems running in both sides of my family, I decided to take a holistic approach to my health instead of seeking a quick fix. While I do understand that there is a time and place for prescription drugs, I didn't want to grow a dependency on them without putting my time, effort, and money into natural, attainable remedies that would eliminate my health issues instead of putting a figurative band-aid over them.
Lisa is clearly educated and dedicated to her research. She doesn't offer gimmicky products, she doesn't try to suggest the most expensive supplements, and she certainly doesn't follow fad diets or pseudo-science publications. She went over my blood tests, family history, and even asked about my daily routine, including what I eat every day, how I manage stress, and where I socialize. She looks into every detail, from the types of detergent I use to the way I react in stressful situations.
With her guidance and resources, I've managed to successfully drop 25 pounds, fully reverse my depression (anxiety still comes and goes), fully reverse my thyroid disease, fully reverse my diabetes, clear my skin, and gain so much more energy to carry me throughout my busy days, all without taking one single pill.
I do have to mention that my recovery took TIME. If you're looking to lose 50 pounds in two months because you have a wedding coming up, I wouldn't bother. Working with Lisa and taking her advice to heart took a lot of time and effort. It took me two years to lose 25 pounds (slow metabolism, thanks Mom and Dad), but I lost the weight safely and I've successfully managed to keep the weight off, despite treating myself to junk food every once in a while. I supplement, I run, I rock climb, I do yoga, and I meditate. I plan on going to Lisa twice a year to go over my blood levels (very important because I'm a vegan) and discuss my hormones, stress levels, athletic goals, etc.
I strongly suggest looking into meeting with Lisa for a consultation, at least. You need to be prepared to make changes on your part, but it's so worth it when you know you're improving your quality of life.
