I worked with many different physical therapists during the past 40 years. However, the experience with Gerald Stern was unique and extremely helpful. He patiently taught me how to use the McKenzie method to realign my spine to help reduce the pain. I was quite skeptical, but learned how to stretch and work the exercises into my daily routine. Months later, the pain is significantly less and I am so grateful.

I've been coming for two months. Mary Stern is awesome. I look forward to my next visits (which is insane if you knew me). She is very smart and knows technics for the spine that very few therapists know (McKenzie method). She cares....and that is the best trait in a heath care professional. She talks through and finds the solution(s). I was hesitant to post this glowing review because I didn't want to let the secret out. Gerry is the other therapist and seems to have similar characteristics (his patients are happy). I truly found my personal therapist for as long as Mary will take me (all future problems). No more one and done. She has me hooked on the process and my neck pain is way better than it was before I met her. Thanks!!!!!!!

My experience with Dr. Gelb was extremely disappointing. At my first surgical consultation, Dr…read more Gelb clearly stated that I needed knee surgery for a complex medial meniscus tear shown on my MRI. However, because of a burn injury on my knee, he advised that I complete physical therapy first and return once the skin had healed. When I returned for follow-up -- just a few weeks later and still in significant pain -- he abruptly told me that my knee was "fine" and completely dismissed my symptoms. The new note omitted all mention of the meniscus tear and the prior surgical plan, even though the second MRI (done within six weeks) showed the same tear and bone edema. Since that visit, I have seen multiple orthopedic surgeons, all of whom confirmed that surgery is needed. I left Dr. Gelb's office feeling dismissed, unheard, and deeply frustrated by the lack of honesty and continuity in my care. Patients deserve to have their pain and imaging findings acknowledged and documented accurately. Unfortunately, that did not happen in my experience with this provider.

I really appreciate that he is not quick to suggest overly invasive remedies - he's a fan of PT and now I am, too, and natural ways to reduce inflammation and increase strength to prevent injury. I have learned that many injuries are simply due to weakness and, for me, overtraining, but he gives me the guidance and care I need so I can continue to train safely. It's also pretty easy to get an appointment when you want. On the other hand, I do find his front desk staff to be aloof and cold, and often I have to wait a very long time to be seen, but it's par for the course at so many medical practices, unfortunately.

I was just thinking about how good my shoulder feels, and decided it was time that I write a review…read morefor Dr. Purita, who made that possible. About me -- injured my right shoulder 12 years ago from weight lifting. Spent years in chronic pain before undergoing surgery in 2011 from a highly respected orthopedic surgeon in Delaware. Shoulder felt better, but nowhere close to 100%, so I saw a local doctor in Springfield, PA and had 5 PRP injections over a period of a few years. The first 4 treatments seemed to help, but something went wrong with the 5th one because I felt a lot of pain both during and after the operation (never experienced that before). The Springfield doctor claimed it was a "flare-up", which seemed questionable because he had never disclosed that side effect before. I decided it was time to see a professional, and went to Dr. Purita to perform stem cell treatment on my shoulder. I was very impressed with my entire experience. I flew to Florida and got diagnosed. We then scheduled the stem cell treatment shortly thereafter. The treatment--which involves many needles, removal of fat cells and stem cells--is not for the faint of heart, but it's worth it. His staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, and the technology in his operating room is impressive. Sinatra playing in the background was a nice touch. I had a follow-up PRP session with Dr. Purita about 6 months later, per their recommendation. Now about 18 months removed from the stem cell treatment, my right shoulder feels as good as it has ever felt since the injury. I tried EVERYTHING over a period of almost 12 years, including PT, prolotherapy, PRP, surgery, and then finally stem cell treatment. It wasn't until I bit the bullet and opted for stem cell treatment with Dr. Purita that my shoulder showed significant signs of improvement. The goal was to return to moderate weight lifting, and not feel pain on a day to day basis. That goal has been accomplished. I thank Dr. Purita and his staff for making that possible.
