To begin with, I arrived early for my visit so I could fill out their ridiculous amount of paperwork. On it were the obligatory questions about the pain I was in, but no one seemed concerned with what I put down, as they kept referring to other things that were not bothering me. Also, when I made the appointment, I specifically asked for Dr. Amin, but I never saw him. I filled out the paperwork and sat in the annoying waiting room where the television is entirely too loud and on a continuous loop of ads. Nothing else. I wished there was a remote out there so I could turn it off, but that would show true concern for the patients and you won't find that here. I finally was brought in to the madness of the back, and Michael, the nurse (I'm not sure if he's actually a nurse but I don't think he's a physician's assistant and I know he's not a doctor) could not have been nicer. If this review was about him, it would be five stars. He was the only one I met who actually listened to me. Next came the PA. This could either stand for Physician's Assistant or Pain in the Ass, you can decide for yourself. She was a nightmare. She apologized for the amount of time I had to wait, but she had to go outside because her car was hit. Which is saying to the patient that her car is more important. That gives you an idea of the caliber of the practice. Finally the doctor came in. He stood across the room and recited to me what his PA had written down, incorrectly, which completely threw him off because he had already decided on the the diagnosis and course of treatment (all with drugs) before he walked in the room. He never examined me, he stood with his back against the door and never entered any further into the room. I now know how lepers must feel. He prescribed several medications for me, which is why I started feeling like I was in a pill mill. Then he told me he would call in another prescription, and that pharmacy would call me to make arrangements. I was also to have an MRI. Finally, something that made sense. His office would arrange that and the MRI office would call me to schedule. I also had to give them a urine sample, but for the life of me, I don't know why. I gave it to them. I have yet to hear anything more about it. I was shown to the front desk where the receptionist immediately tried to book my next appointment. I informed her that I couldn't very well do that since I hadn't had the MRI yet, which completely threw her off. I patiently explained to her (maybe not so patiently) that I had to have an MRI and that her office was going to call the MRI place and let them know what the were scanning, and once that was done, then I would call and make the next appointment. I'm guessing she gets paid on how many appointments she makes because she was not happy. Several weeks later I received a letter in the mail from some company that claimed they had been trying to call me (even though I never got a phone call from them) to finalize the medication. I checked and it's a medication that is NOT covered by my insurance, and I can only guess that Dr. Macek gets a kickback from the drug company, because I cannot come up with another reason why he would prescribe this for me, particularly since he still had not examined me. Oh, and the MRI? Well, it's been over a month and I still have not heard from anyone about that. As I said, this made me think I was in a pill mill and nothing has happened since change my opinion. In reading the reviews on here, it seems that most patients are very happy with Dr. Amin. I cannot understand why I was not put on his schedule when I specifically asked for him, but I was not. Sadly, I'm not willing to give this place another chance.

I'm reasonably smart so I have always gotten background on things that concern my health. I research to the most extensive detail so I would understand how best to convey my concerns and condition to my doctors and also to understand if their diagnosis and treatment makes sense for me. I have caught a few mistakes in my time and I am also one who seems to be the one to find out this kind of information for all of my friends because I am so driven. I have a condition that I have seen several doctors for as well as found all of my information from medical centers universities other doctors overseas and have managed to put together a network of friends who supplied me their information for similar issues that they are going through so I am quite thorough and knowledgeable about whether or not the doctor is up to speed and going to use the latest information or is not. Needless to say but I will, I like a doctor who I can share my concerns, knowledge I have picked up, and to get their opinions on it as well as to understand why they are doing what they are doing because I know my body. This doctor will discuss all of this as well as any questions you can have while being courteous and allowing you all the time you need to explain as well as to understand what she is telling you. This doctor took the time to gather all my background before I even had my first appointment and have taken the time to read all of it and evaluate it so that when we finally met I only have to go over some history and she already had a game plan! I was pretty much sure of the range of possible effective treatments and she was exactly consistent with what I read regarding that! It's nice to find somebody who is so competent in their field that you don't have to wince and research like mad knowing that you're going to get faulty work or diagnosis unless you catch everything! After all this time I have a years spent trying to find the right doctor and treatment for myself I think I can finally say I can let go and let the doctor take over! If I have to find something bad I would say on my three interfaces with the office staff, one time I didn't find them as courteous as I would've hoped for and you may have to wait a while for the doctor but subsequent visits have shown a nice staff to deal with. I am really excited and anxious to just put my self in her hands and start my path toward success! What is stress reducer to have somebody, whether they are your doctor or a plumber or fixing your car, who knows what they are doing so you can just let them do it and relax without worrying!

My friend, who is also a physician, replied negatively and basically he was told that he was wrong in coming back to the ER even though he was unable to breathe and his oxygen level had dropped significantly. A patient with pneumonia in both lungs and who has trouble breathing and who is getting no relief from a breathing machine at home should not be made to feel guilty by his PCP. in my opinion, it's egregious bedside manner and if my wife and I had been at the hospital this morning, we would have asked the doctor to leave the room because he was upsetting our dear friend.

I fretted so much before meeting him given the nature of my issue but he immediately put me at ease and ultimately fixed the problem with minimal "invasion." Had it required more, I'd have been very comfortable after my initial experience. I made the mistake of being honest with women who makes his appointments and told her i was a very nervous person and i didn't want to have any procedures done in office unless the Dr Garner would ease my concerns and explain the procedure and if they were painful. The woman put me on hold and came back and said that Dr Garner didn't want to waste his valuable time and told me she wouldn't keep the appointment she made for me on 2-11-25. I told her that was unethical and maybe illegal and she put Dr Garner on the line. He reinstated the same comment his time was too valuable and it would be a waste of time. I told him maybe if he would comfort me by explaining what was going to happen then that might calm me down. He insisted that all the procedures were painful and simply refused my need to see a urologist. I even said given the choice to have pain or do nothing at all then i would bite the bullet and go through with the procedure but he said flat out NO! This guy was totally riding on his i am god almighty and dont bother to even begin to ask me any questions in person. Just because hes been doing this for years doesn't make it right.
