Parking sucked, that was a busy little lot. Walking in, the establishment was dingy. I still proceeded to get 1 glazed twist and 1 sprinkle donut. I introduced my boyfriend to this local donut shop, and it has become our favorite late night place to go/early morning before work. Love their blueberry donuts but was told one random Sunday I went they do not make them on Sundays because not enough people buy them on Sundays. Okay, I understand. Fast forward to today, April 3rd, came at 3am with my boyfriend, which happened to be on a Friday. Boyfriend started with "Can I get a cookies and cream drink?" Older man immediately refused to do a blended drink. Another person came in behind asking to get a frappé style drink as well for his wife whom he was getting off the phone with. He told both them I don't do them on Fridays , "too much work", massaging his shoulders. Attempting to get us to order hot coffee, which we did not come in for. We also asked him for another bag to separate our donuts, as we usually pick up for some neighbors and this man, he ignored my boyfriend. It's just so crazy to refuse business that would generate more money for your business. Other man left pissed off. We would have understood if they were busy and told us we had to wait to get our one blended drink. But, he just rudely ignored our orders, threw in the donuts in a bag. But at this time, again, almost 3AM... there were only us, two groups of people, who both wanted blended drinks. Was such an unpleasant visit this time around. Side note, we have gotten blended drinks all previous visits. The lovely older lady served us and made our drink. I hope we just caught him on a bad Friday. But, he did say he did not do blended drinks on Fridays. 2 stars. 1 for the awful service, today. 1 for the blueberry donuts and cream filled. Will try again on another Friday. read more

Wish I had taken pics of any of the times I been to lol but it is a local donut shop by me It's your typical small business ma and pa type of joint I prefer these because you get best bang for buck but also you get donuts that don't disappear in your mouth like cotton candy like Krispy or that are weird like dunkin Places gets a lot of business and it's a good place to get my donut craving read more

This was a recommendation of Yelp. I wanted to find the best donuts in the South Bay and this was one of them. We drove down to the plaza and didn't exactly see it. It's all the way in the corner next to Wilmington Blvd. The donuts are the best I've had from a small business store. They were light and airy and most importantly, delicious. I'm glad that it worked out for me and my family and look forward to my next visit. We ordered two sugar and glazed, three different sprinkles, old fashions, some chocolate and others. Been coming to this donut shop for years. I love their iced coffee (hazelnut to be specific). Tried everything from their donuts to their croissants. It doesn't disappoint. Sometimes the small shops like this are better than the bigger more known coffee / donut shops. This donut / coffee shop is one of them for sure. Customer service is great as well. read more

First of all I have been coming to this donut shop for over a year, I have tried donuts, croissants, and ice coffees. By far the best donuts in the SouthBay: 1. They do not get hard after a day, they stay fresh for a couple of days. 2. It's open by 3am! 3. The ice coffees from here are amazing and affordable definitely beats Starbucks. The service is here is great, a typical mom and pop shop small business. Which I love to support, I promise this place is amazing. Now walking in do not judge the place, because it does need a little facelift but, the donuts are amazing they're fresh, moist and tasty. read more

Came here on a Tuesday morning and they had a really good selection of donuts. I'm not big on donuts but I'm pregnant and had a craving. They had my favorite donut which is the chocolate with peanuts on top. I was impressed with their donuts and so were my coworkers. Treated my coworkers and we were all happy. They also have muffins that look good so I'll try them next time I stop by. Good service and prices. As soon as I was paying the donut shop got suddenly full....lots of people and it seemed like frequent visitors stopped by for some yummy donuts. Nice local stop. read more

I've visited just about most of the local donut shops in the city and by far this is the best of them all. Donuts are flavorful and just what you would expect out of a donut. Fluffy and sweet. Small, unassuming, with nothing distinctive except for a simple DONUTS in yellow atop the storefront. Don't let the basic appearance fool you--these may be the best donuts in Carson. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive. They don't have displays busting at the seams with donuts, but they do have a wonderful variety available. (I'm assuming they make fresh batches throughout the day, which is why stock is never overflowing.) When I'm in here people always seem to be dropping by for coffee. A dozen is $7.99, which isn't bad at all. In past experiences when I've ordered a dozen, they always throw some in for free. How nice! They accept credit cards but charge an additional $0.50 for purchases under $10. My favorite is their soft, buttery, fluffy blueberry donut. They also have some donuts that look straight out of a cartoon with a bright, thick fruity glaze. The orange was quite tasty. While I had my car in for service at Carson Toyota, I found more than two dozen of Alex's Donuts in the Customer Lounge. Very nice appealing variety, including two of my favorites. Almost had the maple bar, but I settled on one of the largest glazed buttermilk donuts that I've ever had! That was at 7:30 a.m. and I'm still full at 10:00! read more

Decoration is minimal, but who really looks at that when you're just grabbing food to go. I opted to go to this shop, instead of ordering my croissant breakfast from the starbucks in the same lot because of the reviews for this place. I was greeted upon entering and 3 people were ready to help the morning crowd. They were efficient. I ordered the bacon, egg, ham croissant and loved how it wasn't greasy and the bread tasted nice. Only issue was the egg wasn't distributed evenly but enjoyed that it was real egg. I don't know what type of cheese they use, it was white, but it was subtle and enhanced the sandwhich. It was large so I just finished it this morning, 3 days later and after a few seconds in the microwave still just as delicious. I feel like that says a lot about quality. Will come here again if I am ever in the area again. Have to try those pretty drinks. read more

My job requires me to speak to large groups of people so I'm buying a dozen donuts every couple of days and I haven't written a review or any donut shop until now. I bought a dozen back to back days. The first day everyone ate them all and raved about them. The next day they left 2 so I got to try one and man oh man these donuts are fantastic. I was just at the Starbucks Drive-Thru when I saw that this small donut shop was open (during the current stay at home order)! I got a bear claw and sugar twist for my mother and I. We both thought they were delicious!! The bear claw was so big I couldn't even finish it. The man, who I assume is the owner, is very nice! Walked in and was immediately greeted by a very friendly girl. Told her I wanted a dozen for work and started picking. She was very fast, efficient and spoke English well! I'm impressed. Love coming here for the ham and cheese croissant ($2.75)!!!! They warm it up for you and it is just perfect. And it's huge so it'll keep you happy and full till lunch. Also tried their sugar donuts. Delicious! Nothing crazy stand outs about it but it's a soft, sweet donut. I'm not complaining. A little Something special: They offer regular, chocolate, and strawberry milk! I've been patronizing this business since I moved around the corner almost 13yrs now and I have yet to be disappointed. The quality and taste of their donuts is always on point, the service is quick and efficient and while I didn't always appreciate their hours (because I always want donuts at 6/7pm) I do appreciate them being open in the early hours (like 2am) after nights out partying lol. Highly recommend this establishment as a great tasting donut shop with prices that are not overpriced. read more

This place has the best donuts in the whole wide WORLD!!! I literally live 2 cities over and I still pass up about 7 donut shops to come to this one. Have not been here for a while but I LOOOOOOVE THEIR DONUTS! I wish they stayed open till at least 6 so I could get them after work! I learned of this Donut shop because the dealership where i WOULD GET SERVICED HAD SUUUUPER TASTY DONUTS IN THE LOBBY. So I had to ask where they got them from! After learning of the shop I went after work had a broken heart they were closed and came back in the morning!! YAHOOOO!!! I liked the classic cronut a lot as well as the cinnamon one. Their donut box with the plastic window was nice and makes for a nice giftable item or potluck dessert. The bad: The Nutella cronut was a bit over the top and too decadent with the about of Nutella inside. The iced coffee was $8.50 (but it was 20 ounces). They didn't have other sizes at least from Door Dash. The interesting: The coffee tasted like a Vietnamese coffee and was super strong. Drinking half made me feel wired and nauseated.

During my freebies birthday run yesterday, I was planning on going to Old Ferry Donut after picking up a boba next door, only to find the shop closed. ＼(｀0´)／ Known for unique flavors & vibrant retro-pop 70s branding (cute hamster mascot with bold orange & brilliant blue colors; it's featured on 2-/4-donut boxes), this Korean-inspired premium donut shop originated in Seoul a decade ago before expanding to several S. CA locations, opening in Torrance a couple of years ago. OFD's donuts are popular for its rich creams & chewy dough; Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée are just 2 of their signature flavors. I was going through a donut phase when I initially stopped by Old Ferry Donut. Large windows let lots of light in, & once you step across the threshold, you're hit with a strong K-pop vibe & loud music. They even had a collab with SEVENTEEN last fall during their tour with 2 flavors: Marble Strawberry & Blue Coconut! Unlike the regular mom & pop's or commercialized donut shops, they don't offer a discounted 1/2 or full dozen box. After asking what's their most popular picks, I chose Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée, & added Lemon Poppyseed & Raspberry Ring for myself, Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream for the kiddos. Service was alright... I didn't need a sales pitch, but would like some info on the donuts to make an informed decision since they're at a premium price even though they're not "freshly made" (every hour or less) like SD&C just down the street. The Butter Pistachio is a major hit... fluffy & light, a slightly chewy yeasty donut stuffed with a mildly sweet whipped pistachio cream filling & topped with a salty-sweet buttery streusel... how can you not be addicted? And totally worth it! Crème Brûlée is also popular for its delicate, crackly caramelized sugar crust & airy brioche dough that's filled with a rich vanilla custard. Good flavor, but maybe on the older side? Since it's been sitting for awhile, it lost that fresh fluffy texture & was kinda dry. I really liked the Lemon Poppyseed; it's right up there with Butter Pistachio. The lemon glaze is just the right amount of sweet & tart, & the donut was fresh & fluffy! The Raspberry Ring is pretty good, matching that sweet & tart of Lemon Poppyseed, but I like the citrus zing of the latter more. What's different is the former has a raspberry jam filling in addition to a glaze & the latter is just a yeast donut with fruity glaze. Kids didn't say much about Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream... I figure you can't go wrong with these flavors. The filling might have been a bit much as I saw the cream oozing out of the donut & onto my LO's face & shirt. His sister was slightly better at containing the custard blob. LOL With premium prices, It's debatable if Old Ferry's donuts are worth it... quality, freshness, & size. Hmmm... I like them & their creative flavors, but they're a tad too sweet & not as "fresh" in comparison to SD&C. Sad to see Old Ferry Donut permanently gone from the South Bay, but they still have locations in San Gabriel & Buena Park if you're willing to take a drive. We placed a large order of the mini donuts for middle school graduates to be picked up this morning and they had called us to let us know that they were ready. I commented to my husband that they I wasn't expecting that from a Winchell's franchise and felt that they operated more like a boutique style shop and made their customers feel special. Their mini donuts are great, the frosting has real flavor, not just colored.
