My daughter and her friend began exploring the many containers of beads. They took genuine delight in watching the girls rummage and I never got the impression (that you often get in stores when you let your kids explore on their own) that the owners were anything but delighted to watch the girls creating. Barb pulled out a large wood bin of "scrap" beads and encouraged the girls to rummage through these beads because they would be so inexpensive. (The beads in this bin were great, everything from seed beads to hematite hearts.) It was very thoughtful of her to pull out the clearance bin for the girls. I have never done beading before, so I decided to sit back and watch, which is very comfortable to do at the large table in the lower room, a table, I might add that is sitting in front of a real fireplace...perfect ambiance! My daughter came to the table and showed me what she had. I became intrigued by some beads she had chosen and wondered if I could make something from these wonderful beads. Deb came over to check if the girls needed anything, and I asked where I would begin if I wanted to make some earrings from the beads my daughter found. Deb immediately got her tools, grabbed a few head pins laying around, and helped me add other beads (all from this discount bin) and showed me how to make a pair of earrings. In about 20 minutes, I had a pair of hand designed earrings that looked nicer than anything I've seen in your average earring shop and even nicer than what you often find at One World Goods (which has gorgeous earrings!). I was so excited and immediately felt them to be the perfect gift to give for a friend's birthday. And the cost for these custom made earrings? About $4.30!!! But they look like $25 earrings easily! Also, when we were checking out, my daughter's friend had chosen a $2 lobster claw clasp, but Barb put that one back in a bin, chose a less expensive one for her that was even better quality. The girls had each filled a small plastic bag with beads from the clearance bin; she charged them maybe .25 for the whole bag. I entered this store as a dutiful mother letting her daughter get some beads. I left the store totally hooked on making my own custom jewelry, and feeling confident that I can do it! Five stars is not enough to rate this store. With their appealing merchandising in an absolutely comfortable atmosphere, combined with their warmth and expertise, the owners of Bead Breakout deserve all the success in the world! Congrats ladies on a stunning example of the best that small businesses have to offer!! Postscript: We returned the next day for a special "trunk" sale. The place was packed, and Deb and Barb were there and treated us just as nicely as they did when we were the only ones in the store. And the owner, Andrea, came up to me, introduced herself, and was equally as approachable and helpful. Even when the store was packed, I felt just as welcome and found everyone to be just as helpful.

We had the most thorough and thoughtful experience with Michael from the custom framing department…read more We had a simple job of getting a mat cut for a photo that was a particular size. Based on previous experience at another location we planned on having to order it and come back for it another time. It was a Christmas gift and a very busy time in the store and that department in particular. Michael offered to cut the mat immediately, then went on to fit it all into the frame, along with our picture, and put the proper closures on the back to ensure we had the right fit and end product. He then wrapped it and we were on our way. We thanked him and let him know we were grateful. He was gracious, very professional, and pleasant. He shared that entering our order into the system would have taken as long as completing the work immediately and he wanted to make it easy for us and then have one less job for him to have to complete later. Very thoughtful decision and efficient. We appreciated him very much. It was a day of errands and he helped make it go as smoothly as possible. Thanks Michael!

Really disappointed. I purchased my wife's engagement ring from Heritage in 2010. Vince was such a…read morepleasure to work with that I returned to purchase the matching band shortly after. We were told that since we purchased the rings there that they were under warranty as long as we had them cleaned and inspected every 6 months, but were never given any paperwork on this warranty (I guess this is where we went wrong). We have been getting the cleanings and inspections as we were advised to do and no one has asked us for warranty paperwork. We had the rings resized and soldered together in July of 2016. A small diamond in the setting fell out so we brought the ring in for repair in early January 2017. We were told that we needed to bring something in showing that the ring was cleaned and inspected in the last 6 months. So, we brought in our receipt from the resizing and soldering. Tim told us that this was not the correct paperwork and that we should have a pamphlet where they sign each time the ring is cleaned and inspected. I asked if I could have the pamphlet to get signed for future cleanings to make sure there is no issue on the future and Tim just kept saying that our ring isn't warrantied. At the end of our discussion we were given the ring and not charged for the service of replacing the stone and Tim said he would look into putting the warranty paperwork together and we could return a week later to pick it up. A week later I stopped by the store to see if the paperwork was ready and I was told Tim was on vacation for the week and the paperwork was not prepared for me (I'm guessing he probably knew he would be on vacation all week when he told me to pick up the paperwork this week). I was annoyed, but I was patient and just called the following week. When I spoke with Tim on the phone he told me that he would not be giving me the paperwork. He also explained that they warranty their rings now, but didn't do that at the time I purchased the ring. This whole experience left me feeling quite perturbed that I had been jerked around by Tim for a couple weeks. I was also disappointed to find that the warranty that I thought I was purchasing along with my ring by going to a local jeweler was non existent. I raved about Heritage since the day I bought my wife's engagement ring. This will no longer be the case for this jewelry store that doesn't plan to take care of an old customer in the future.

Although the staff here are very polite and I was able to get my engagement ring resized in about…read morean hour or so, I noticed a few minutes after we left that there were scratches and gouges all around the band that were very obvious. I did not notice this initially due to only being concerned with the fit. While I was immediately invited back to fix it when I called to inform them that they scratched my ring and it was then buffed out - I am still confused and disappointed that they would cause damage and not notice what happened before they gave it back the first time. The ring has lost quite a bit of its white gold look due to having to be buffed and will have to be re-dipped already - and I've only had it for a few months. I hope they learned to pay closer attention to their work and unfortunately I will not be using their services again.
