Armanda Keci PMHNP is an excellent provider. She listens to her patient's concerns, work her schedule with her patients (even off hours), very approachable and provides honest feedback. Armanda is knowledgeable regarding her patient's psychiatric and medical needs. She explains the medication use and side effects to her patients and makes sure the patient understands the treatment plan, goals and expectations. She collaborates with other providers, such as the therapist and PCPs to address her patients needs. She follows up with her patients on a regular basis and promptly replies to their messages. I highly recommend Armanda and BZA for providing excellent support and care to their patients. Coming to BZA is like having a friend and shoulder you could count on.

I am writing this review because of the positive experience I had as a student while at BZA. The facility is very welcoming and esthetically pleasing. Another strength of BZA is its team approach. I have enjoyed observing my preceptor, Armanda Keci, interact with her patients/clients. She is thorough, personable and most importantly genuinely professional. She is an excellent role model for the psych and mental health profession. She is prompt is responding to her patients' needs whether online or in-person. As a student, she gave feedback on a daily basis, was available and responded to my needs within minutes to hours and my required clinical documents were submitted in a timely manner which truly helped to alleviate my stress level. I feel extremely honored to have had this opportunity to learn under Armanda's guidance. I highly recommend her to patients experiencing mental health issues any student pursuing a degree or certification in Psych and Mental Health.

Like an asylum from the 1930's…read more Dr. Shah is a quack. I have atypical Autism. He tried to diagnose me as psychotic. I don't even live in the state of Illinois, and he thought it was a good idea to keep me in the hospital for two weeks. His decision cost me my job. He also demanded that I start taking medicine that I didn't need and that essentially turned me into a nonverbal three-year-old. I am guessing he did this to stop me from complaining to authorities about him, but, unfortunately for him, I am in the process of filing a 10-page complaint with the Illinois state medical board. At discharge, he stole a prescription of Adderall from me and attempted to steal $700.00. I had to have a lawyer call and threaten to file a police report in order to have the money returned. I didn't get the medication back. I am guessing he took it, and I don't blame him, because he may need it worse than me. I am hoping that in doing so he was able to provide his other patients there with something other than the far-below substandard care that I received. Unless you want a nightmare horror movie experience, stay out of this hospital. It is the worst. Not only are the doctors ignorant about developmental disorders, but they actively abuse and take advantage of the vulnerable people who have them.

BEWARE!!!! DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR!!!! For 3 years she did noting but have me sit in her office and…read moreevery single time she would ask me what supplements I was taking that she had given me. I paid her $10,000 and did not receive $10,000 worth of care. He sales pitch person PROMISED me and my husband that Dr. Goldman had a whole slew of Dr's she would be able to converse with/get opinions and help from so that she could help me. Um Ya, no that NEVER happened!! My tests found that I have lyme and mold toxicity. She admitted she did not know how to treat them, but would "read up on it". She decided on one protocol she wanted to follow, then changed to another one. She wanted to start me on a nasal spray for the mold. I asked her about clearing my detox pathways first and she says, "detox pathways have nothing to do with clearing mold." NOW I KNOW MYSELF, without any medical knowledge, that my detox pathways have to be clear to detox the mold. After that I told her I wanted a PARTIAL refund because she hadn't helped me and I did not trust that she could help me since she admitted she didn't know how to treat lyme/mold and she did not acknowledge the need for detoxing. She had the nerve to say to me that I want a refund because I was angry that no one has been able to help me. "UM NO I NEED a refund because I have to pay for someone else to help me because you DIDN'T." I asked for a refund because this woman did not have the decency to OFFER me money back knowing she could not help me!

Another warning about this quack. JUST DON'T!!…read more She'd get (-) if an option. The point of this extra review is to save anyone from working w/her, to avoid the agony I suffered as her patient, plus reminders to check all psych Rx for side effects. When I started working with her in 2003, I was 46 years old, 5'3", weighed 120-123 wore small/xtra small. Except for when I was pregnant, and the pregnancy weight fell off. I started noticing the weight gain in '05, 2 years or so later. It was creeping up gradually, like I was now an 8 not a 6. Not obvious or major denial. I put it down to being over 50 + post menopausal In 2008, I had to take a physical for a new job, which included getting weighed. I was aware I gained "some" weight, but didn't expect, to my shock and horror, to weigh 188, a huge 65-68 gain. Even worse, 12 pounds from My hair became brittle and stayed that way for months. My blood work, always w/in normal limits, spiked, especially triglycerides. Blood pressure increased. My cognitive skills sets were definitely affected-slower, w/decreases in concentration and memory. I became easily fatigued and mentally lethargic. I became far more depressed than when I started w/her, and ending up meeting criteria for obese and stores for plus sized clothing. I never said a word to her about it, b/c by now I hated her but needed her wrist. She said nothing to me, perhaps because she was chunky and possibly qualified as Obese. I tried to convince myself that at 58, I earned the privilege of eating whatever I wanted and having a pregnancy sized stomach. It didn't work. I joined WW in 2012 and owe them. I had no interest in group meetings, so I negotiated with a coach to get weighted once a week. 2012/13 it cost $10/week. IDK if this option for group meeting avoiders is still available. 5 years after joining WW, in 2017, I weighed 130 and fit into a 6. By 2018- 15 years later-I made it back to 120-123. Mind you-I was 52 when I started with her. It took me 9 years-to age 61-to return to myself. But she treats depression. My blood work especially triglycerides flew into the Red range. This creature with the initials M.D. Mass Destruction and worse also had a terrible admin staff. They were rude and very cavalier about giving her patients' messages. She was always late refilling my Rx, especially my Klonopin. One time, I was starting to go through withdrawals, and went to our pharmacy for help. They all hated her for her arrogance and indifference to patient care. The head pharmacist got her on the line and told her that I was going into withdrawals and reminded her that failing to so was medical malpractice. His wrath left her w/no response except the only one I wanted my Rx. I am glad to see that drug companies and the medical profession-especially psychiatrists-have stopped lying, by omission or just lying, about meds that are weight gainers, create alarming spikes in blood work and other serious side effects. I wrote a complaint to the IDFPR and as expected heard nothing. I was satisfied that the Board notifies all licensed professionals when they receive a complaint, which would disturb her composure. You may wonder why, after almost 20 years, I remain so bitter and full of rage. I saw her for family and work concerns, common for a woman in her mid-40's, and to alleviate minor and annoying depression symptoms. I ended up unrecognizable, with borderline severe blood work, decline in my cognitive skills sets, apathetic, lethargic and more adjectives. I lost almost a decade of me. In my favor is that with life-defining crises, I will never back down. JUST DON'T!!

I was at my wit's end after seeing at least 4 other couples therapists that offered standard "vanilla" advice with no change. I assumed this was like any other couples therapy but with 2 professionals instead of 1. With nothing to lose, my partner at the time and I went in for what I affectionately now call "spiritual boot camp." Jean and Ray have a unique approach to their therapy backed by a mix of data, psychology, history, Kabbalah, and what I can only assume is MAGIC. They have an uncanny ability to read people and see thru B.S. allowing them to get to the root of issues faster and without judgement. If you're a fan of Brene Brown, Jean refers to this concept of eliminating shame (both within yourself and for those around you). I've been going to Lighthouse for 4 years now--even after moving 30 miles away & 2 failed attempts to get my advice/healing elsewhere. Sometimes I still leave sessions upset (because I know Jean is right and has hit a sore spot) but I ALWAYS have a sense of clarity and peace afterwards. It's not easy work bc they will push you if change is really what you're looking for--but well worth it!

My experience having been treated here was relieving at first as I really needed serious attention…read moreand help, but slowly became unprofessional. This is not the location to choose if you are looking for long-term healing. The advice and insight I've been given felt like a bandaid compared to a lot of the complex and deeper issues I was struggling with. I didn't feel care or empathy at all from Katarina. The office started ghosting me, and have not gotten any response from her. Coming out of my sessions I felt unimportant, I felt like my issues and struggles didn't matter. This place didn't feel like a lighthouse. Matters got worse when I was asking for a note, or signing papers for work. The attitude towards me became cold. If it was out of their capabilities, I wish they tried referring me to a different location, helping me reach out to the actual help I needed. I felt so lost and stressed especially in the state I was in already. I felt threatened to have a session or not. Please, take the time to listen, be patient, understanding, responsive, and act with care as all these patients are going through tough times. Edit* After writing this review, I experienced an unsavory set of actions in order for me to take down this review, thus slowing my healing process. I have no doubt they have helped individuals before, but the unsavory actions indicate large red flags for this business. I advise caution. After every session, Katarina would just walk away like time was up that's it. I just felt like a stranger that she had to talk to for one hour and then that's it. Being a social worker, I felt it lacked the empathy and warmth. I've never felt as if she tried to understand me. I switched to my old psychologist and after just one session with him I felt hopeful. I expressed my concerns and he showed me empathy and a willingness to work things through.

DONT LEAVE YOUR KIDS ALONE WITH JAMIE MCMULLEN, BETTER YET FIND A DIFFERENT THERAPIST AND FACILITY…read more My 2 kids ages 9 & 10 have been patients of Jamie McMullen's for a couple months now, Dad and I coparent 2 very defiant kids that grew up with little/ no structure. The ardent center accepted our ins, was conveniently located between dad and I, and had openings that worked with our schedules so we gave it a shot. WORST MISTAKE EVER! Last weekend while the kids were with me, I asked them to do some household chores ex; fold their laundry including matching sock, they did some then got board and walked away I made them come back and finnish that was when my son said, "I CANT WAIT UNTIL IM 13" I asked him why what's happening when your 13?, he said, "MY COUNSELOR TOLD ME WHEN IM 13 I GET TO DECIDE IF I WANT TO GO WITH YOU AND YOU CANT MAKE ME!" I then asked my daughter if she was told the same thing and she said, yes. We brought our kids to JAMIE because we trusted that she could HELP or kids NOT make thing WORSE for us at home. Today I met with Jamie and asked her if she told my kids that when they are 13 they can decide who they want and don't want to visit and who they want to and don't want to live with. SHE DENIED IT AND SAID NO SHES NOT A LAWYER TO GIVE THAT ADVICE. Don't get me wrong there are certain circumstances were kids might have a say but my children have a roof over their head, food on the table, and clothes on their back. They are not abused or neglected. My children are not innocent but I can tell you one thing for sure, MY SON IS NOT A LIAR! I then asked Jamie if my kids can join us and we can clarify things, SHE SAID NO! She said she does not feel comfortable talking to my kids about it. I Walked out of the room and told my kids that I had a conversation with Jamie about the information they told me she gave them and I told them how she denied it and they said she's LYING, SHE TOLD US.... (they even recalled the day) HOW DEAR A LICENSED PROFESSIONAL TELL THAT TO MY KIDS. WHO KNOWS HOW MANY KIDS HEADS SHE IS MANIPULATING! OH AND WHEN I SPOKE WITH THE CEO HE PRETTY MUCH CALLED MY KIDS LIARS AND SAID HE KNOWS JAMIE IS A PROFESSIONAL AND WOULDNT SAY THAT. HMMMM I wonder where my kids pick that line up from???!!! BOTTOM LINE FIND ANOTHER BUSINESS TO TAKE YOUR FAMILY TO, THIS ONE HAS DONE MORE DAMAGE THAN ANYTHING.
