The father, boasting 40 years in the industry, is not only a shrewd businessman but an honest one as well who sticks to his word, which is a rarity nowadays. In an industry often plagued by dishonesty, ridiculously high estimates, and even occasionally shoddy work this place is a gem. A family run business that actually cares an isn't trying to gouge you. I came here after receiving an estimate from CSN Bemac Auto Body South - 2677 Bank St via my dealership that had more padding on it than a drag queen (replacement parts that weren't needed, etc). They never expect a woman to have taken any Autobody courses at Algonquin, I guess? These guys were able to do the work in a fraction of the time and for less than 1/4 of the price of my original estimate -- which is really what the job should have cost to begin with. I'm not one hundred percent happy with the customer service and certain aspects of the work- in fact, I'm very disappointed. I put a dent in the lower part of the right front door, and when I came to see Aleks' business, I was explained how the process would work, and I was given a choice of either replacing the whole door or fixing the dent on the existing one. The prices were reasonable, and the overall quality of work (replacing the door per se and colouring it to match the existing car colour) was good, as well. HOWEVER, the post-work cleaning left me very frustrated. The car salon smelled awful - awful! The smell of dirt, cigarettes, paint, whatever else- it was all there. When I drove home, I had to wash the inside carpets, and I had to put conditioner with scent on the leather seats to try to make the smell go away. It still smells very unpleasant. How do I get rid of it? It's unpleasant! Moreover, there were splashes of white paint on the rubber on the upper inside side of the door, where the window closes. Then, there were splashes of paint on the side of the air conditioner vent that was on that right side of the car. In addition, there were paint leftovers on the rubber that framed the mirror on the right door. Most frustratingly, there were paint splashes on that outside space between the two doors, the front and the back passenger doors. In addition, there was white paint behind the right front wheel - that area that was adjacent to the door which was painted. So instead of being black, that space is now covered in white splashes. As such, I decided to pay the owner a visit the following morning to ask him to correct those mistakes. I showed him those missed spots, both inside and outside. To my bemusement, the man seemed to be displeased with my totally reasonable desire to have the car properly cleaned of white paint leftovers. He seemed to be annoyed with me. He said something to the effect of, "Wake up. Wake up. Enjoy your life. Live a little - millions of people on the earth live in poverty. You pay too much attention to small things. Enjoy life!" Taken aback, I pointed out to those affected areas again and I asked to have them cleaned. The owner took a piece of cloth with some brown material, and tried to wipe it off, with very poor quality of final result. THEN, to clean the painted air conditioner vent, he rubbed the chunky brown material IN the vent, which caused it to fall into it and clog it. What's going on?! I had to take my keys and carefully extract these brown chunks from the vent. The owner then just walked away! I was utterly disappointed and frustrated that my issues were not resolved. What did I pay the money for? Then, one of the workers came about and he helped me to get rid of those paint marks. He did a good job, but he still hasn't got rid of them 100% the way it should've been. And that paint on the other side of the wheel is still there. And one more thing, the lower part of the replaced door has some sort of an insertion; a little detail that's put there. Well, on the new, replaced door, it doesn't seem to hold very strongly, compared to the same insertions on the other side. If I touch it, it moves. The same detail on the factory door on the other side doesn't move. Disappointing, and I wouldn't go there again. The service was so poor and disappointing and incomplete, I'd request a refund. read more

I had a great experience here! They kept giving me candy, super yum! The quote I was given was bang-on and they were very flexible with timing for drop off and pickup. In fact, they were done with my car a bit earlier than quoted. I felt pretty good throughout the whole experience, when I brought the car in for the quote Aleks was honest with me about what needed to be done (which was minimal) and what it would take to make things pretty (much more effort). I liked that he was upfront about my options, necessities for the function of the car, and the cost differences. The final product was great and the paint matching was perfect. 7/30 read more

I've got mixed opinions about this place. When I first came in I was dealing with Aleks himself (he's the old man) and he was friendly and gave me an excellent quote (this was Friday). He told me to come back on Monday and drop it off. Monday came and suddenly the quote that he gave Friday was upped by $200. I was in disbelief and couldn't understand why he was doing this. When I probed he got agitated and annoyed at me. I was about to leave until he finally agreed at only upping $100 (which was still reasonably good compared to other quotes received). But the whole bait and switch technique really turned me off. I would never go back to see him again. Terrible experience. read more

I recently scratched the door and rear panel of my car against a lamp post. I first went to Maaco to get a quote and was given an estimate that was way above what I was reasonably willing to pay for repairs. They justified the cost by the fact that the color red is hard to match and that the work required blending the paint into adjoining non-damaged panels. Depressed, I emailed Aleks Auto Body to get another quote. I received a prompt answer in under an hour with a much more reasonable estimate. He took my car on the days that were convenient for me and two days later, it was looking better than new for exactly the price I was quoted. The paint match is perfect, yet he only touched the two damaged panels. Even looking closely, I can't tell that those panels were ever damaged. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. The fact that he offers quotes by email is just gravy on top of very good worksmanship and service. read more

I have never had the displeasure of being heavily yelled at from a business, especially a business that provides a service. I asked for an estimate of work for a small job. After mulling over the estimate for 2 weeks, I set up a time to bring the car in. On arrival, I was greeted with the owner screaming at me that they had bought the parts 2 weeks ago and that they had to spend time reselling them as we didn't turn up during those two weeks. I never gave them the green light to buy these parts ever, and assumed that they would do so once the car arrived. I was entirely disgusted with how they handled the situation and will do everything in my power to dissuade anyone in my network of using this company in the future. How companies like this survive is beyond me. read more

Thankyou Alex for clearing up the issue with the price increase of the inside door panel. And thankyou for the extra work that your shop did at no cost to me. I do appreciate this aspect of your work. I was disappointed however when I called in about the colour mismatch of my bumper. I didn't think this would be so complicated, matching paint, because you have the code of the paint. Knowing that the code does not guarantee a perfect colour match makes me think the problem might happen again. Being bounced around like a yoyo is also not good customer service either. You did ask me to come in and you would redo the colour match, but then your father got on the phone and told me it was fine, meaning he didn't want to redo the colour match. So now that I reviewed your shop you are telling me to come in and you will fix the colour. But at this point I don't feel comfortable coming into your shop and I think I will just live with the job as it is now.. read more
