My husband and I decided to go out and try a different cuisine for lunch today and we searched on yelp and saw Aleida's Kitchen. Best decision ever. The entire experience was exceptional from the wait staff to the food to the atmosphere. It was small inside, but it was nice and I absolutely love the murals inside. The tables were spaced out nicely to adhere to social distancing rules. Ok so, lets start with the appetizers: fried calamari and arepa chocolo con queso. BEST fried calamari we've had in a long time, if not ever. The Arepa was delicious, I have never had arepas before so this was a great first time. The waitress was so sweet, when I first ordered it (arepa) I just ordered the Arepa con queso, but she suggested the arepa chocolo which is a sweeter version for a better taste. Then, for our main course we both ordered the Friday Special: Lomo Saltado chicken and my husband got the beef. Both dishes came with white rice and fried yuca. My husband said flavor: 10/10, beef 8/10 just because it was more chewy than he prefers. Chicken 10/10 on everything. We are both so full and I had enough left over to take home. Good Colombian food, in a clean establishment. Waitress could have been a little more attentive (water glass was almost empty with no offer to refill...at all) since we were the only ones there... and our house salad was brought out 60 seconds before the entree. Docking a star for those reasons. Overall a nice little place and the food was well cooked, had an authentic taste and came out hot....but overall was just average. This place is a hidden gem. I ordered oxtails, white rice, red beans, salad and 5 Colombian beef empanadas (yes 5! don't judge me they were absolutely delicious). We took our food to go due to the Covid-19 restrictions and I must say that everything was neatly packaged, the portions sizes were perfect and the food was delicious. We were greeted with a smile and to maintain safety the cashier wore a face mask. Can't wait until this pandemic is over so I can come back for a sit down meal. Very delicious mix of cuisine! Dominican food and Colombian food are very flavorful. This place did not disappoint, the prices were BEYOND reasonable for the portion size. My husband had the oxtail with rice and beans, and fried plantains. This oxtail was seasoned to perfection. I myself had the Bandeja paisa which comes with beans,rice, VERY large steak, avocado, arepa, chorizo and chicharrón. Needless to say I devoured the entire thing. My husband & I were on vacation and found this gem online. Based on the good reviews we decided to give it a try. The food is delicious and fresh. Ordered mofongo with shrimps,and this is by far the best I've ever had. They give you big portions too. Heard the couple across from us complimenting their food as well. Better than I expected. Both chicken and beef empanadas were excellent if not way too small. The way they serve them now is more of a "finger food" as nachos are... They should double the size and they would increase revenue from this menu item. So far thats all we've tried but we will certainly be back for more. And we'll look forward to dining in when the COVID19 restrictions are lifted... I hope they survive. read more

I've never eaten at the restaurant in person, nor picked up food from there. I've only had delivery from here but I can tell you, if COVID wasn't around, I'd totally be at this place eating in person!! Aleida's mofongo is TOP KNOTCH!!!!! A+++++++ Best mofongo i've ever had ...and trust me, I'm a mofongo FREAK. It must be moist. It must be flavorful with garlic, buttery, and pork. Aleida's does not disappoint. She fries her tender pork chunks with skin and incorporates them in the mofongo. So when you are eating it, it's moist, and you get these buttery, juicy, sometimes crispy from the fried skin, pork bites that just compliments the crunchy yet soft bites of fried plantains. It's Heaven in your mouth! And my favorite part is, they put this little fried pork back chunk right on top to garnish it. It's like eating the cherry on the top of the sundae. Best part! The portion size is HUGE. Like 4 cups for one mofongo ball. It's big. So go there hungry! I've also had the stewed beef. Her gravy is just like my mom used to make. So delicious! Her steak (or beef chunks) she uses are so tender and juicy as well. Totally made me drool WHILE eating the mofongo with it. My boyfriend and I were constantly saying "omg............OMG!! YUM!!.....omg!!......." haha! They are a bit pricey for mofongo, BUT it's totally worth the splurge for really good mofongo. Their beans are really good as well. I've had them and they're almost like a soup because they include a lot of bean gravy with it. So yummy! They use fresh cilantro in them. Please give this place a try. Disappointing experience here. Service was slow but we were willing to wait because it's fresh food. The food was good when it finally came out. However, we ordered 2 Tres Leche desserts and one of them was leas than half the slice of the other one. We even saw the same dessert at another table and it was a bigger piece. When we complained about it the waitress just laughed and said that's how they are cut and kept walking. We told her that they should only charge half or bring another piece but she charged the full amount for both. I attended Aleida's Kitchen a couple of days ago and I enjoyed the overall experience. I ordered the bandeja paisa and the amount of food on the plate was astonishing. I enjoyed the plate and I felt that I got a bargain for $15. However, my date did not feel the same. She enjoyed her meal but was upset with the lack of vegetarian options. Happened to find this restaurant on Yelp, my boyfriend and I decided to try it out with a friend. I wish I had gotten photos, but I didn't think about it at the time. The food was delicious and just great quality. You could tell it was fresh. Everything had great flavor. I ordered the palomilla steak with grilled onions, which came with rice, beans, salad and a choice of a 4th side. I got the fried yucca. The salad came out first and it was simple but perfectly fresh and I really loved the dressing. You can really judge a place by the side salad.....I hate when there's wilted or brown lettuce, none of that here! The palomilla steak was seasoned nicely. My boyfriend and friend both preferred the Dominican Donkey burrito (does not contain actual donkey meat), they both loved it and already established they would both get it again next time. The food was great quality and yummy, but as we all know the service can make or break your experience. The service we recieved was wonderful. I didn't catch his name, but the server was so polite and accomodating. He filled our drinks regularly without us having to ask, and when I asked if they had any kind of garlic sauce I could use for the fried yuccas, he had one whipped up for me. What a great dinner! Nice, clean restaurant and friendly staff. We started with the sweetish yellow corn arepa with cheese, and a quipe, which is a delicious Dominican empanada. We had the bistec palomilla, very nicely done, and the carne guisada, a rich, tender stew. Sides of salad, rice&beans, yucca, and tostones completed the main meal.
