I cannot say enough great things about Aldo's! We've been coming here for many years! They sold to new owners not to long ago and we were terrified that things were going to change! To our surprise, they have kept things EXACTLY the same! Food is so good!! Please come and continue to support this small family business! They truly are a gem! They have the BEST pizza around. Always fresh and always comes out piping hot! The sauce is perfect and they never skimp on toppings or cheese! The crust is in a league of its own. Hands down the best pizza there in the peninsula and perhaps even the bayarea. We currently live in San Diego and STILL cannot find a pizza place as yummy as Aldo's! Please go support them. We can never lose this place to the big chain spots that are trying to take over! We will stop by every time we come home to visit!

Ordered it with marinara but got pesto. Didn't see any onions or basil. Didn't want cheddar cheese but got it anyways.

Ordered a pizza for delivery on DoorDash and the order was wrong on so many levels. Ordered it with marinara but got pesto. Didn't see or taste any onions or basil. Didn't want cheddar cheese but got it anyways. I use to be a Aldo's fan, sadly my recent experiences have been disappointing. I hate to write negative reviews but this was not the pizza I ordered. I ate it depressingly. :( And the poem of my review I had ChatGPT write: A pizza ordered, DoorDash used, But wrong it came, my hopes now stalled. Marinara I craved, but pesto was there, No onions, no basil, a sad dispare. Cheddar cheese, unwelcome guest, On my pizza, it did rest. Aldo's fan, I once held true, Now disappointment shades my view. Negative reviews, I hate to pen, Yet this was not my pizza then. Depressingly, I ate my meal, A bitter bite, my discontent real.

Star of India

My family has been coming to this place for many many years and so, I grew up eating this pizza, it was basically our go-to. For this reason, I am bias & Aldo's holds a special spot in my list of favorite pizza joints. We always get the Star of India (onions, green bell peppers, black olives, pickled jalapenos). The pizza crust had a light crisp & they didn't skimp on the toppings. Casual restaurant and the service was good this past visit. This was our first time visiting after new ownership & we had no complaints. Pizza came out hot & the owner checked in on us a couple of times. It was pretty much a full house on a Saturday night. There's street parking or parking in the plaza across the street.

I grew up on this pizza as a kid we would get it every Friday when they had a location in the Laurie meadows shopping center. I live in Hayward now and still go pick up their pizza from the shore view shopping center. They have hands down the best pizza crust is always crispy and delicious.

2 stars for nice people, food not so much. Reminds me of school lunch pizza. Don't recommend unless you're out of options.

For my first visit, I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It was okay -- not bad, but not something that really stood out to me. To be fair, I honestly think I may have ordered the wrong item. After seeing some of the other dishes coming out, especially the raviolis, I realized that's probably what I should have tried. The ravioli plates looked fresh, well-portioned, and really appetizing. Next time, I'm definitely going that route. One thing I have to say -- the bread was hands down delicious. It tasted very fresh and had great texture. That was actually one of the highlights of the meal for me. You can tell they care about quality ingredients. Beyond the food, the overall experience was very positive. The customer service was great -- friendly, attentive, and welcoming, especially for it being my first time there. The restaurant itself was very clean and well kept. The location is convenient, and parking was easy, which is always a plus in this area. Even though the pulled pork sandwich just wasn't what I was personally feeling that day, I'm not knocking the place at all. Everything else about the experience was solid. I'm definitely willing to give it another shot, and I can easily see how this could be a 4- or 5-star place depending on what you order. For this visit, I'd give it 4 star based on my specific dish, but overall I'm leaving with a positive impression and will be back to try the ravioli next time I'm in the area.

We ended up going to Burlingame that same day so I could try it out for myself. Metered street parking at and located in downtown Burlingame, Del' Oliva is quaint and offers gourmet olive oils and vinegars. Their products are fresh and their customer service is top tier. Immediately welcomed upon entering by the owners and shared with us a few samples and combinations of extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars on tap. You can taste the fruits in their vinegars. Fantastic variations that would elevate your dishes. I picked up a lime infused olive oil and pear white balsamic vinegar. Overall, would recommend checking out for all foodies and home cooks!

The owner took his time to ask about our needs and preferences and gave us a few tastings of things he thought we would like and everything he gave us was spot on. I came in wanting to get one bottle of olive oil but ended up with 3 olive oils and 1 balsamic and I have no regrets. I had my two kids with me as well and he was very kind to them, giving them cookie samples and making them an olive/balsamic blend that tasted just like raspberry chocolate which they loved. Definitely a place to come to for your olive oil needs!

Pausa is hands down my FAVORITE restaurant in San Mateo…read more They make their pizza crust in-house and you can truly taste the difference. The crust is chewy on the inside and has a perfect crunch on the outside. They also give you scissors to cut it up which is fun!! The menu changes with the seasons and I always try to get something new I'm here. Service is always really friendly. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and almost is too pretty for San Mateo. You feel like you're in a restaurant in LA (I mean that as a compliment)! This restaurant will wow anyone on a date night. This is my go-to spot to take guests whenever they're visiting me in the bay. [this review was written in connection with a Toast promotion]

Food (6/10) - I have mixed feelings about the food. On the one hand, all the appetizers were absolutely DELICIOUS. The creamery burrata with the slightly charred bread had an amazing crunchy texture that was followed by the smoothness of the burrata. The bone marrow had a super rich flavor (that also paired great with the focaccia). On the other hand, I wasn't the biggest fan of the entrees, which arguably, should be the stars of the meal. The mint with the lamb was definitely interesting and added a nice zing. I wasn't a super big fan of the overall lamb taste and texture though. The lamb's pull apart texture reminded me a lot of ribs (which is FINE) but didn't give me that characteristic lamb flavor. Since it was slow braised, that kind of flavor was lost. Additionally, the pasta was extremely chewy and borderline hard. I fully understand the concept of al dente BUT this was not a pleasant mouth feel. It was such a strange texture to bite straight through the pasta with this super firm texture. Price (5/10) - This kind of restaurant is bound to be expensive; you can kind of read from the vibe. I just don't find this place to be particularly worth the cost. I'm sure they use "the freshest ingredients" but the taste is not reflective on the price. I've had comparable or better food for cheaper and much better food for relative prices. Even a small pasta dish costs $30+. Ambiance (7/10) - The dark ambient lighting is intended to "set the mood" but it's just so dark in there :') Service (10/10) - What they do hit on is the amazing service of a restaurant like this! The servers are super friendly and amazing. They know the menu well and give great recommendations. Overall, this particular restaurant wasn't my cup of tea but I can understand if you ARE a fan. Give it a try if you're a fan of Italian but I wouldn't make the trip again.
