Sometimes especially when I'm off. I'll run over to this store to pick up some ice coffee container. It's cheaper then the other brand that I'll get at a bigger chain. Most of the time it's in stock. Place is small and brands aren't as well known as in bigger chains. There's usually only one cashier on duty at a time. Guess it's not as busy either. Lines can be long. Here you do need your own bags or you can use one of their boxes that are kept in front. Staff is friendly and they are fast. read more

ALDI is now voted for value leader. It has surplus over many leading grocery stores. It was the price and value that drove all people to here. Predominantly ALDI like to serve the neighborhood of low income area. It no different that this ALDI is located near these neighborhoods. It also very close to major university or college. ALDI original is Germany company. The earlier ALDI carry some import goods from Germany. But lately they have hooked up with local companies and deliver the local products. Actually I prefer the imported product. I don't like deposit quarter coin and have the right to use the shopping cart. It has attracted many unwanted people line up at the front of the store want your cart after you have finished shopping. They ultimate goal is the quarter inside the cart. It actually make me feel unsafe and the strange approach you for the cart. I know it is cost cutting for the low price grocery but make me fell uncomfortable. read more

Aldi is an amazing grocery store but I have noticed some odd things lately. The store on Florida Ave and Bearrs has connected the latches on their carts to the same cart so there are carts all over the lot now. Seems all the stores are now closing at 8 pm too. I hope they aren't going to close! Looks like they are cutting corners to save money but not sure what they're doing is the best thing for the business. I always shop after 7 pm and closing at 8 pm is terrible for me! read more

I'm a big Aldi fan because it's a great place to get organic food and other items for a reasonable price. Are organic meat selection is adequate. Their dark chocolate bars are amazing! They have a nice selection of organic products including their Simply Nature brand. They have organic chicken or beef bone broth for $2.99 and low sodium, organic chicken broth for $1.89. I like their Simply Nature quick cook organic brown rice or white rice for $2.59, and their 16 oz bag of organic quinoa for $3.99. They have quite a few vegan and vegetarian options as well including their quinoa veggie burger, and kale veggie burgers for $3.59. They have black bean chipotle burgers and Asian vegan Burgers. They also have these nice meat free, chickenless, tenders and meatless meatballs all for reasonable prices. I'm not vegan or vegetarian but these options are really yummy! :-) They have organic meat options including organic chicken, turkey, and beef. They even have Beyond Burger. Buying organic can be quite expensive but their prices are reasonable. The only thing to be wary of about Aldi is their produce. It can be hit or miss. I prefer to go to either Sprouts, Publix, or a local farmer's market for my produce. read more

I've been shopping at Aldi for a few years now and love how I'm able to purchase quality products, even organic items, at a much lower cost than traditional grocery stores. I'm not able to do all of my grocery shopping at Aldi since they don't have everything I need, but I'm able to cross off most of my list! You really can't beat their prices. I stopped shopping at this location a few months ago because there always seemed to be someone outside panhandling or trying to take your cart after you loaded your groceries in the car so they can have your quarter. As a woman shopping alone, I hated this. Also this store is quite rundown compared to other Aldi stores. I started shopping at the Aldi store off of Florida Ave and was blown away by how huge the carts were and the cleanliness of the store. I heard they recently had a remodel. Perhaps this location is due for a remodel also. I visited today for the first time in a while and noticed they have new carts and no one was panhandle, so that's a start! read more

I'm addicted to ALDI!! Everytime I go, which is often I find something more interesting. Fresh Veggies galore. Extremely affordable frozen veggies for soups. My daughter loves the vegetarian items, her favorite is the vegetarian meatballs. I love the cheese section - always a variety of fun cheeses for a charcuterie. I always make sure I hit the home goods isle! I've found the most surprising fun items for gifts - shoe racks, cheap tall tool chest, clothes steamer, waffle iron, air fryer and more!! I usually stop in once a week for fresh veggies. Don't forget your recycle shopping bag or you have to purchase your own. read more

This a great store to get produce, cheeses and meats at great prices! They are a no frills market, bring your own bags, need a quarter to rent a shopping cart. But it definitely shows in the prices. The prices for cheese are amazing and produce is wonderful. The cashier with the red hair is so friendly and efficient, makes the line go quickly. Great buys, efficiency and a double double return guarantee. What I love about this store is how quick your in and out. No fancy marketing, lots of stacked cardboard boxes and no bags and carts (.25 to borrow one)to pack your grocery in. But who needs that when you can pick up great groceries lower than Major grocer prices. Their brand cereal has no artificial flavors, GMO and mostly organic and half the price than commercialized brands. They even sell organic 1/2 gallon milk for $2.99 which Horizon sells for $5.99. aldi also brings in some Kick ass seasonal items.......I'm talking German Christmas cookies made in Germany to just name the most recent one. The Germans have a high standard on food. So you know those cookies are damn good... at the end of the day. Aldi does great by driving up the stakes for other grocers. Lastly. The double double return policy. Return whatever you want purchased there. Get a refund for it and then they will give you something else on top of it. Oh man, I haven't been to Aldi in years!! Not since they only accepted cash - luckily they now accept all major credit cards. Still have those carts that require a quarter though! The problem with this Aldi location is that they barely have any carts!! I got the last one when I arrived from a nice old lady and another woman was asking me for mine as soon as I put my groceries in the cart by my car. I didn't see any baskets in the store either so I only wonder what it's like when it's busy...be prepared to carry your items! Also, bring bags of course! Aldi is still set on self serve with bagging which is OK to me. While checkout lines can be long, they whip through customers with ease. Clean store that was pretty well stocked today. Only a few items sold out. But where else can you find a dozen eggs on sale for 40 cents and Hass avocados priced at 39 cents?! They have so many organic, farm raised and fair trade items and wonderful prices. They also carry an awesome and fantastically priced selection of wine. This is the kind of place you want to drop by if you're having a holiday party or looking for something new to make for dinner. I was so looking forward to going to Aldi for some savings and quality food once I moved to Florida! I found this one down the road from my home a few miles. Totally underwhelming to say the least. Perhaps it's time for the restocking truck to come soon, but they were either out of a lot of what they said they had, or they don't really carry it. For example, Hass avocados for 39 cents...not a one left! This particular Aldi had very little selection compared to what I've experienced at other Aldi. The checker was blah and the store was kind of dirty. There was one decent cabbage to choose from (the rest were moldy or withered) and there was one package of strawberries left (which I grabbed). There was a bag of potatoes I grabbed which appeared to be moldy, and the raspberries were spilled out of the package onto the display. I went to grab a skim milk and several rolled down the roller rack, dropped before I could catch them, and landed in what appeared to be spilled eggnog on the floor. So someone will get a dirty milk jug with an unknown liquid slathered on it. Surprise! Very disappointing experience. Huge let down! Sooo...I won't be returning to this Aldi. I may give another one a try one of these days. read more

I've never been a "loyal" grocery chain shopper. Here in Florida Publix is one of our biggest chain grocers, and although I do love shopping there (it is a pleasure, after all), it's not always kind to my wallet. I typically do my shopping on Saturday mornings and will browse the ads to see who's got the best deals. I'm totally ok with store brands, so couponing has never been my priority as I think many times you can save more money by going generic on most items, receiving equal quality and taste. Now, in a moment, I may lose brand-loyal readers, but I want to introduce you to a little store called Aldi. Ever hear of Trader Joe's? (oh, I bet I just got a few swoons and oooo's and ahhh's). Well Aldi is their discount chain and parent company. (Yes, it's true!). When Tampa first got an Aldi, I decided to check it out. I had heard about it's popularity over in Europe, so I figured I would see what all of the trans-Atlantic hype was about. With impeccably clean stores, specialty items and some of the freshest produce around, there is no doubt that Aldi is in the same family as the infamous Trader Joe's. If you're living on a budget (like me), then you should check out Aldi for all of your healthy meal planning needs. They offer a variety of both fresh and packaged foods (all Aldi brand, but some specialty name brand items as well), dairy products, gourmet cheese, meats, wine (try their Winking Owl!), paper goods, snacks, frozen treats and even cleaning products. Each week they also offer a variety of home goods. You'll find sheets, kitchen appliances, toys and more. Eating healthy doesn't have to break your piggy bank. As a USF student I'm always looking for ways to save. I've recently started doing all of my grocery shopping at Aldi and have almost cut my grocery bill in half! They have great prices on everything from produce to frozen goods. You can find unique Indian food, German food and tons of organic products for half that of the big chain organic grocery stores. You won't find any brands you're familiar with here, but don't let that scare you away. Also, you'll need to bring a quarter for the cart and your own bags, but if you forget you can always buy some of theirs. read more

Man i loooooooovvvvveeeeee shopping at Aldi! The store has great prices, lots of wholesome organic ingredients without having to pay ridiculous prices. I love the imported products like wines from Spain and Germany, Dutch chocolate bar, bread imported from France. Strawberries were 1.29 last week in the aldi paper! Which is an amazing awesome price. Not as much variety as a super Wal-Mart, but better prices on more wholesome multiethnic food. Just remember to bring your reusable bags and a quarter to use the shopping cart. read more

Probably my favorite grocery overall, and i would gladly shop there more if one were closer. Those Germans know how to do business. It is a very spartan arrangement where you have to deposit a quarter to get a cart, buy or use your own bags, and do your own bagging. Staffing is kept at a minimum and they accept no checks to speed checkout...also note the bar code is on several sides of each item to speed checkout also. Their selection is not as broad as stores like PUblix or Winn-Dixie, and they only have house brands for most items. But the quality of their brands are comparable to name brands, and much lower price. As a Euro-based chain they have some unique items and weekly specials that often follow a theme....e.g. Italian or German....brats, strudel, etc. Their produce is fresh and low priced with frequent surprises (recently 79 cent blackberries). They also have some great flower/plant sales...e.g. large hydrangea for $4.99. If you are up near USF/VA or Town 'n Country, give them a try.....noting they are from the same family that owns Trader Joe;'s. read more

I love shopping at Aldi's! Even though I come here almost every week, I have to look on every aisle to see what's new. They have an organic produce section at good prices, and it seems they add new organic products all the time. Today I bought organic unfiltered Virgin cold pressed coconut oil, 15 ounce glass jar for $3.99, 3lbs organic gala apples for $4.99, 3# bag of mandarin oranges for $1.49, organic marina and tomato basil sauce in glass jars for $1.89, and grass fed ground beef 85/15, $5.49#. I also purchased giant pomegranates for 55 cents each, and they are usually $2.99 at Publix. I have in the past, loaded up on Haas avocados for $.49 each and frozen them for smoothies and guacamole. There's also great prices on wine, cheese, artisan bread, spices, meat, organic cereals, gluten free products, and lots of household goods. It is owned by the same company that owns Trader Joe's, so it is quality products. I just love this store! read more

I really like this place. For me a grocery store needs 5 things: stocked shelves, clean floors, uncluttered aisles, variety of fresh goods and friendly staff. Aldis has all of these things. The fruits and veggies are not abundant but you get a good variety of seasonal items that is not already going bad this is important to me. Shelves are stocked and the place is clean and uncluttered another must. The prices are low and which helps in this economy. I go on a regular basis. The downside of this place is that a shopping cart cost a quarter (which you get back upon returning the cart) and you either bring own bags or purchase them at the counter (sometimes there are boxes up front to carry groceries in). I don't really think these are a downside. Try this place at least once bet you will be back. read more

Aldi is a great grocery store for college students or others who like saving money/are on a budget. This Aldi is conveniently located across the street from USF. Although I work at Publix, one of Florida's most popular grocery stores, I still go to Aldi for the majority of my grocery shopping. Not only are their products affordable, but they also have a lot of healthy options. The reason most of their products are so affordable, however, is that they sell off brand products. If you prefer the name brand products, this may not be the store for you. One downside to Aldi is that there are no baggers, which means you have to bag everything yourself. They also don't provide the typical plastic bags like most grocery stores, but bigger reusable bags that you must purchase for 10 cents. This is not as big of a deal as it seems, and I still think it is worth saving the extra money. Plus, reusable bags are better fore the environment! Another thing unique to Aldi is that you must bring a quarter to get your cart, however once you return it to the cart return, you get your quarter back. This prevents the parking lot from being covered in grocery carts like at Walmart. read more

Aldi is a great grocery store where you can buy everyday grocery items at a much lower cost. For example, I bought a carton of eggs for 69 cents the other day! Aldi sells their own brand but occasionally sells brand name items as well. Aldi brand items taste identical to the brand name items. The produce is extremely cheap. The only thing is the fruit seems to go bad quicker than usual. It is well worth your money if you eat fruit regularly. Aldi has a huge selection of organic food items, baby food/supplies, and other random but useful household items that you may need. Shopping carts are outside. You insert 25 cents to release a cart, and get your 25 cents back once you return the cart. There are no plastic bags to pack your groceries at checkout. You can grab a box that is laying around or bring your own recycleable bags with you. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because of the location, there are A LOT of homeless people outside of the store that harass you to give them money. This becomes really stressful when you are trying to put groceries inside the car. read more

Aldi supermarket is very suitable for students, there pricing if great and very beneficial for me. My likes about Aldi is of course the pricing and the fact that there are no long lines and it is never crowded is awesome. The dislikes i have is that you have to pay for a shopping cart which was new to me at first, but i grown accustomed to it. Some other dislikes i have about Aldi is that the named brand products are very different but in a funny way like tony the tiger would be tony the panther at aldis you know it is more of a generic version. The cleanliness of the store was great unlike Wal-mart. Aldi's products are always in stock and in order. The pricing at aldi market is super good and that is my favorite reason why i shop there. The employees are very nice and always offer help even when it is not needed. The worst thing about aldi is that you have to purchase a shopping bag or bring your own which sucks but oh well. I had heard of Aldi many times before, and stories of their low prices but personally had never shopped there. Once I discovered that there was a store very close to where I lived, I decided to give it a whirl. I imagine that some Aldi's are different from others, because this one seemed a bit small and rather oddly shaped for a grocery store; boxy with high ceilings. The store was crowded, many people were shopping, mostly elderly people but a few families as well. As promised, the prices were very low. Once I had grabbed a couple of items I went to find a cart, seeing as this would be one of my big grocery store trips....I looked around to find one but saw no carts anywhere. I asked someone else and they told me outside the doors on the right, something I completely missed when I had walked in, eager to grocery shop. I yanked on a cart to get it out only to see they were chained together and required a quarter to release...odd but okay. I paid and went back inside to finish my shopping. Once I headed for checkout I was surprised to see the very long line of customers waiting to be rung up, they had only one cashier working. My time to be cashed out finally came, the cashier did not say hello or really even acknowledge I was there. She told me my total and I paid, then waited for her to bag my groceries....only to realize there were no bags and everyone around me had either brought their own, or went bag-less....looked like I would be going bag-less. Walked to my car and luckily I had a few that I was able to bag my cod stuff with. Returned my shopping cart and go my quarter back. Overall it was an interesting sopping experience but due to the incredibly low prices I will be returning to the store. read more
