I recently became an Aldi customer. I do the majority of my shopping at HEB; however, I come here for a number of things that are better, and cheaper, than HEB. The produce is pretty good for what you pay! I've stopped buying most produce at HEB and come here. It's better, fresher, and cheaper. Win. Win. Win. They have a number of generic items that have become a staple in our house. Their coffees are great, chips/crackers and anything of the sort are great-better than some name brands, too. They have muffins that my daughters both love, and they have a Fit Active food brand that is superb. Love the bread I will be honest and say that I haven't tried any of their meats. A number of people have shared that the meat selection and quality aren't great, so I've stayed away. But I can't give you any personal experience in that area. Be prepared to either find an empty box, bring your own bags, or buy bags from them. read more

Stopped by aldi to return an item and got a few great finds on clearance. Tuesday and Wednesday morning is the best time to find markdowns. I found an outdoor pizza oven for 54.00 and an outside inflatable tv to watch movies in the backyard for 84.00. A win for me read more

This Aldi location is okay at best. I say that because I purchased a can of cashews, and guess what? When I got home to eat a snack, all of the nuts tasted awful and had black spots. So, I went to Google to find out why cashews have black spots. It is not recommended to eat those cashews, as they can indicate damage from bugs, oxidation, or fungal growth. So, that means that I cannot eat it therefore, I wasted my money on a product that should not have been on the shelves. Another issue that I have with this location is the fact that they don't have a lot of vegan options; they sell tofu, almond, soy, shelf-substitute meat/some meal options (that are tasteless). I've been to other locations that have variety. Also, some of the peanuts in a can that I purchased from here were stale, so I had to immediately toss them as they weren't fresh. I purchased some crackers that weren't expired and they were stale too. The produce doesn't last long and is bruised up. This location usually has a homeless person out front begging for quarters from the shopping carts. I came here because it is close to my house. read more

All you have to know is that I got 1 pound of strawberries for $.49, yes forty nine cents! Did anyone say Smoothies!! It's a small supermarket and I doubt you could really do all your grocery shopping there, but the stuff that I saw was pretty well priced. I got a mango for 39 cents and my favorite vegetable chips for $1.79. Make sure you take your own bags, if not you will have to pay for them. Paper bags were 6 cents and plastic 10 cents. You pay 25 cents for the cart and I believe you get it back when you return it. I shall explore this supermarket a Little more. read more

I have shopped Aldi's for many years and continue to come back! I bought all my Thanksgiving needed from here and was pleased with the quality and selection. I cannot buy everything needed at times as they may not carry certain items, but that is not a deal breaker for me. Their brands are great and can surpass name brands. Cheeses are a definite to buy from Aldi's. The Coke products that they now carry are cheaper than other supermarkets. I have never had a problem with their service, they keep cost down by not having a lot of employees, but the savings are passed onto the customers in prices. I have even purchased two laptops from Aldi's, maybe in 2015, no problems with them at all, I am posting this review from one of them now. I shop at the store in Pasadena on Fairmont and the store is always clean. Aldi's is a great store in my opinion! read more

We have now shopped in an Aldi in 5 different States. Every time my wife goes in one and shop she says the same thing, "why don't I come more often?" They will no longer be accepting checks in this location but they do accept credit cards and oh yeah cash also. The store was clean, well stocked and quick at the check out. If you have never shopped at an Aldi know that it is no frills. Bring your own bags and items on the shelves are in their cartons. I especially like their non food items and gadgets that they sell. Oh very important to know that you will need a quarter to use the shopping carts. The quarter is refunded when the cart is returned. I don't know why other stores don't use this system. It ensures that the carts will be returned so I don't have to search for one. We will definitely be going back. read more

OK, so this is a new chain of grocery stores going up, but I can see failure soon. The store is going through their Grand Opening, but even so, the store is filthy. Employees were rude. Only way to get your groceries home are to make sure you take your own bags, or pay 6 cents per bag. Carts.. well you have to pay 25 cents to use them, but is refundable when you return the cart to the cart rack. SO, I didn't have a quarter and they wouldn't let me get change for a dollar to get a quarter to use a cart in their store. Cashier said she couldn't open the register unless we bought something. Hmmm... then when I asked to talk to the manager, manager never came out. I had to go to a nearby store to get change. So three strikes out before I even get to shop. Food there is all off-brand. I don't usually mind since I don't buy too many name brand things anyway, but they had boxes of things that were crushed on the sides and look like they went through Hell during freight. There is a good deal on milk, eggs and bread, but for what it costs me to drive there, that alone will not be worth me driving all the way over there. It's a good 15 minute drive each way. I would watch for expired goods there. Some of their canned goods only had a few months until expiration. The first impression was not good. The best impression I got from this establishment is seeing me drive away. read more

Very cheap, friendly/helpful staff. A lot of the products are generic brands with varying quality. The protein/meat is great and generally cheaper than other grocery stores. Fruits and vegetables are a toss-up; lots of bruised produce. The way they handle shopping carts (need a quarter to "unlock," quarter is refunded if returned) and bags (bring your own or buy your own) are different than the norm, but the cash they save by not giving away free plastic grocery bags and not having employees wasting time gathering shopping carts is reflected in their prices. I have noticed that this location sometimes doesn't reflect the sales advertised in the paper. But prices are still good, a couple of cents difference in price is annoying (over time, those cents add up) but tolerable (overall still pretty cheap). read more

Have been here a few times since they opened in the spring. Good array of basic foods at excellent prices. They carry primarily the 'store' brand, though enough variety of items for most folks. Though limited on cleaning supplies, there's a Dollar store very close by, so it's not an issue. The shopping process is simple, just remember to bring a reuseable bag, or you can box you own at checkout. Simple & straightforward grocery that will save some households quite a bit. read more

First of all, I absolutely love grocery shopping and enjoy a great deal too. However, Aldi is not the place for many of us here on Yelp. The store was extremely dirty with spilled product in at least 5 places through out this location. Items weren't stocked on the shelf, if one chooses to call it a shelf. lol. The isles couldn't fit two carts side by side comfortably, hence the constant bumping into other patrons. All this while numerous male employees stood around not doing one single thing to help the situation out one bit. Some of the products were interesting and not usually seen in the states, but if one needs cleaning supplies choices are very limited. For pet lovers, the choice was a couple of cans of wet and one single choice for dry kibble. The prices were about average with FD, and not a great deal for bargain shoppers.On the flip side, the highlight of this trip was seeing a brand new store.Future shoppers would have a rather difficult time making one stop for the weeks grocery list.. read more

Today I did my 1st trip to Aldi. I have heard all about it from various fitness blogs as being the IT place to be for organics! I was a little overwhelmed when I first walked in, nothing really seemed to be in normal grocery store order. Once I got over the Shock of feeling like I was shopping in a whole sale store, it was great! I got a lot of my healthy snacks like granola and organic fruit juices for $1.50 less than I would have normally paid at my normal grocer. Overall, I saved 32.50 off my overall bill compared to retail prices. Another thing I liked was it was quiet, normally you have a ton of kids running around and screaming while your trying to shop. I was allowed to focus on a new experience and find all of the great deals! read more

I am from Europe and I felt like Aldi was more like European grocery stores; you have to put a quarter in to be able to use a cart (you'll get it back when you return your cart) and also you have to pay for your bags if you don't bring your own. The atmosphere also reminded me of European grocery stores. I liked how most of the things at Aldi were reasonable priced. They aren't any known brands (well, they do have some known brands but I felt like prices on those were kinda high!) but still good. Prices on vegetables and fruits/berries weren't too bad. They don't have as much selection as bigger stores, but that's understandable. The reason I wanted to try out Aldi was because I heard it's not as big as wal-mart or target etc, and it has cheaper prices. BUT they DO NOT accept credit cards!!!! This is a BIG con. Me and my boyfriend shopped for a lot of food and when I was ready to pay, the cashier told me they don't accept credit cards. What is this?! Luckily my boyfriend had a debit card and we were able to pay and take the groceries with us. But honestly I didn't even give it a thought that they wouldn't accept credit cards, so maybe it was my fault since it's on their website. After all Aldi was an OK place to shop for groceries, and we did save a little bit more money than when we shop at walmart. I still have to buy some necessities from other store, for example shampoos, soaps, face wash, body lotion etc, things like that. Also I have to say that I liked how fast the line was going when waiting for to pay - not like walmart where it can take for so long that all your frozen goods are already melted!! + you gotta bag your items on your own. The cashier just puts all the stuff in the cart and then you pay, move out of the way and right by the registers there is like a long "table" that you can use to put your bags on and then pack your items! I am sure I would shop at Aldi every week for my groceries but not until they start accepting credit cards as well. Let's hope it'll be soon! read more

Aldi is my new place to go grocery shopping now with milk costing $1.89 the gallon and 79 cents for a dozen of eggs i was sold. The checkout is fast, and you have to buy your own bags which run from 6 cents to 10 cents each, and bag your own food but with such cheap prices i don't mind. Don't forget a quarter for your shopping cart which you will get back once you return it. read more

I think that Aldi along with their store brand is fantastic! It is basically a small scale box store. If you go there expecting carry out and what not you will be disappointed but if you are looking for basic groceries at low prices then you will be extremely happy! I have shopped at Aldi for years and was happy to see them moving into Houston. I have not had any of their brand items that I did not enjoy. Everything has been really good! You cannot beat their prices on milk, eggs, bread and produce... all of the canned goods, baking goods and snacks that we have purchasd there have been fantastic... I think that their brand brownie mix is the best mix that I have ever used...almost as good as my home made ones! read more
