Steve's Famous Pnuts

Steve's Famous Pnuts either no longer exists or doesn't exist at this location. I used to LOVE…read moreSteve's, we'd stop every time we had to go through the area. I haven't been that way in a while so I figured I'd stop and I was SO excited. It was going to take me a bit out of my way but I didn't even care because best boiled peanuts ever. There's a building there. It's Ms. Steve's ice cream. Cool, my first assumption was maybe Steve and his wife went into business together. But I did laps around the area and that was the only building. I also looked over the menu at the ice cream place to see if maybe they were working out of the same building but nope. So I went out of my way for NOTHING. And I passed SO many farm stands on 301 because I knew Steve's was in my future. So frustrating and disappointing, change the listing or delete it if it isn't this location anymore guys.

Addendum: Alex is still AWESOME but make sure you taste test first. This last batch of pork rinds…read morewas not light and crispy. Instead they were hard and some inedible. Now I'm sitting on $40 in pork rinds I won't eat. Taste them first! This happened one other time. When they're good, they're GOOD! But when they're bad, they're hard and tasteless. OMGash we love Alex at this Markets of Marion location. That awesome man needs a raise. He is above and beyond so friendly and helpful -we always look forward to always seeing him. We walked away with 15 bags of treats to take back to Michigan. The pork rinds are the BEST we've had. The texture is so dreamy. Chili lime and salted are our favs -chili lime tastes like chili cheese Fritos. The caramel corn is so light with the PERFECT amount of caramel. We love Steve's Pnuts so much! There is a booth located at the entrance to Building A -and there's another booth inside by the fruit and vegetable stands.

Queen of America Honey

My wife has seasonal allergies and strongly believes in the benefits of local honey. Whenever we…read moremove to a new place, one of the things we seek out is a source for local honey. In Central Texas, we met a local beekeeper at a farmer's market and my local honey, by that I mean my wife, swears Ramona's honey ranks up there. So when we moved to North Central Florida we started looking for local honey at farmer's markets and online. Our community's farmer's market didn't have any local honey so we checked out the Market of Marion. We got there early on Saturday and the vendors selling local honey were either closed or not set up yet. I searched online for a local honey source in Belleview and Queen of America Honey (QoAH) showed up. I called to confirm they're open and they were. QoAH, we learned from the friendly lady behind the counter, actually sources and processes honey from various domestic and international locations, including South America, and they supply honey wholesale and ships them in tanks to companies using them for various applications and products. But they also have local honey they get from apiaries in the local area. Oh yeah, they have this cool see through tube where you can see bees in action. After tasting the available local honeys they have, my wife chose the Wildflower. The lady behind the counter told us she loves the pepper honey but they didn't have any in stock. A 1-lb jar cost $10. A good find!

Wow I was very pleased with our lil Saturday morning field trip over to this shop! We got to taste…read morethe different honies they have bottled here & watch the bees at work doing what they do best! Marian was very friendly & knowledgeable! Definitely a worthy stop & good place to keep in mind for gift giving as well as consuming locally grown honey for our health!
