I have been going to Earth Fare in Ocala since it has opened ! Sometimes I go in and shop for a few things as they have products that many stores do not carry. For instance the in house homemade sourdough bread. Literally the only place that makes fresh organic sourdough bread with only a few ingredients! Plus it tastes wonderful. There are day's I'll go in and sit and eat something or meet a friend and have a casual meal and know that I can trust that my meal will be made with quality fresh ingredients and are always delicious. The meat section is great as are the other areas and there are weekly , monthly and daily specials and day's of the week where they have discounts for seniors , military, veterans, teachers and students. It's a very casual store where you can walk around freely and there is always an employee asking if you need any help finding anything. There's an abundance of different options for all different lifestyles focusing on natural and organic foods and goods focusing on health and wellness. They don't sell food that contain high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors, preservatives, fats and antibiotics. So this place looked exactly how Lucky's looked when they were still open. I am not sure if this was a Lucky's in the past because when we moved to Ocala, it was Earth Fare. I had this place bookmarked but I try to stay away from College Road as much as possible. We were at a nearby store and it was evening time so I figured that would be a perfect time. The store was dead. It is huge inside. We didn't know what to expect so we just browsed the store, aisle by aisle. We started by the entrance, through the beverage section. It did not take long to notice the severely overpriced items. The meat section was not big and there was not much to select from. There was not much we were impressed with throughout the aisles but when we arrived at end of our browsing, we wound up in the bakery and deli section. That is where I shopped! I found a bleu cheese that is difficult to find. I picked up a premade chicken salad sandwich on a croissant, which was so delicious! It tasted fresh and pure. We checked out after that and the cashier was not enthusiastic. That's okay, they were not rude either. I wound up spending more than I wanted to. I might visit again if I am in the same plaza again but I do not envision myself intentionally shopping here. read more

Be careful with the store manager because he might call the police on you. He might even call you seven minutes before closing time and slap His hands to remind you that you have seven minutes to leave. He did that to me. He called the police and issued a written ban from ever returning to that store a complete Ignorant about business. I spent hundreds or thousands of dollars at that store only to receive such poor treatment. I will never shop there again, and I hope many others will too. read more

If you love eating clean and cooking with real food and ingredients. This is where you go. All their food taste amazing and all the sections from warm food to cereal lane is very clean. All the staff is friendly and helpful. 95 percent of the stuff is clean but you still have to look out for the occasional food dye or seed oil. If they improve some ingredients it would literally be flawless here. read more

They don't stock that often. Love the deserts and overall shopping but they need to limit filling water containers as people will fill up to 15 bottles and leave you waiting until they are out of water. Hot food needs improvement and be more appealing to the eye. read more

The store has a very clean and tidy appearance. The shelves are stacked neatly, making it easy to see all the products. The bathrooms have been given a lot of attention, and all the services seem to be very sanitized. They also have a very nice selection on their olive bar. Stopped into Earth Fare while staying nearby for a little get away. SCW and I were looking to get a few things for our stay and Yelp revealed Earth Fare was nearby. We read some of the reviews and decided it was worth a shot. The interior is designed like every other grocery store out there in the US today. Perishables around the outside perimeter of the store with the more processed packaged items in the middle. The store itself is very clean and spacious so you don't have much congestion when there are a few people shopping in the same section. They remind me of a Sprouts if you are familiar with the chain. They have a decent selection of plant based meats and cheeses including a few plant based cheeses I haven't seen before. The deli has some plant based options as well (we got some of the vegan thai sweet chili nuggets). The nuggets were very dense and chewy and the sauce was meh. They have a salad bar as well. It's small but the options looked fresh. We also got some vegan empanadas which were really good. The fruit we got for breakfast the next morning was really good. I quite enjoyed the strawberries. Perhaps they are fresher here as they are closer to some of the strawberry growers. The employees were pretty friendly. I enjoyed the experience but we did note the prices for most everything were higher than we are used to. read more

Earth Fare is once again open. Apparently they were bought post bankruptcy. I like this new version better. Can't pinpoint exactly why but it seems improved. No more points and any old ones are now lost, which is fine as the old system was useless and not customer friendly. I hope the brand does well as I'm over Whole Foods now that Amazon owns it and would prefer to support independent chains. Keep up the good work guys! How about opening in The Villages? read more

I was only there for five minutes and absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. You could not pay me to go back in there. I was just looking for cucumbers. I do different people cashier and the other one an employee going stocking shelves. I am healthy. Amanda replied I don't freaking know a damn thing about that I can't help you I don't know anything. Don't know what to tell you. I was shocked with his response. It was rude and aggravated. So then I waited in line for the cashier and there anyone that can help me with finding some cucumbers I didn't see any on the shelf. I really like shopping at your store where I live in Ocala, Florida (the one on Hwy 200), BUT....being someone who has a suppressed auto immune system and wears MASKS religiously in ever store I enter I have to decide to no longer shop at your store. I guess it will be Publix from here on out since they do a great job trying to enforce mask wearing. I believe your store here in Ocala is not at all willing to enforce what you say in your front door signage, and that is, "MASK WEARING IS MANDATORY FOR ENTRY INTO THIS STORE." So why even bother to say what you say as a store and chain policy if you are not willing to enforce mask wearing as mandatory to help protect your workers and other patrons? I believe your policy is just that...all tongue and cheek. If you truly care about your employees and the majority of patrons like enjoy your firm---YOU WILL NEED TO DO A MUCH BETTER JOB ENFORCING THE MASK WEARING POLICY. You can do this by immediately ejecting anyone that enters without a mask or is unwilling to put a mask on. In the last three times I have shopped at this store, I have noticed anywhere from 2 patrons to a total of 10 not wearing masks. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. Spent $142 to take to a party for Sunday lunch at this store and among my items, I bought a cake. The cashier placed the cake, which comes on a very flimsy box with clear top, on the bottom of the bag , on top she placed everything else, including 2 pounds of fish, steaks and 6 containers of yogurt . Needless to say, the cake was ruined. I called the store, asked for the Manager and spoke to a Michael, he asked to tell him why I needed to speak the manager and I explained what happened- he the proceeded to tell me that he was the manager. I asked why he did say that from the beginning and he said I didn't say which manager I wanted. I asked again, are you the manager, he said yes, then I said- are you the general manager ? And he said no. I asked for the general manager and Michael said, Alan was too busy to take the phone because he was on his manager duties. I've been a regular customer of the Gainesville location since they opened so I was really excited to hear they picked Ocala to open their newest store. On opening day everyone in town was there and it was difficult to sometimes maneuver through the crowd but it was so much fun. My main focus was visiting all the vendors and their products. It was a great learning experience! If organic, hormone & antibiotic free foods is your jam then this is your store. Every department has it's own unique take on what they should offer and how to go about doing it: Produce-You never know what you're going to find here as they change their items depending on availability. Included in this department is the bulk seed and nuts. Keep an eye out because they too also change. You can also make your own butter by grinding any of the nuts here for free. Bakery-Organic pastries, cakes, muffins & breads that are fresh made and so delicious. These pastries are fancy ones - nothing you can get anywhere else. Cheese-I guarantee you have not heard of most of these cheese brands. Some are from small businesses and others are imported. A few are actually only available at Earth Fare. The olive & antipasti bar is part of the cheese department. It's a wonderful bar! Self Service- Several bars are included in this department. Sushi: a lot are $5! Pizza: Excellent choices but the slices are not reheated. Soup, salad & deli bar: Keeping in mind everything is organic you'll find a diverse selection of everything. To do that, everything is of course made in house. Seafood-My favorite department stinks - literally! That smell of old rotting fish is sometimes nauseating. Proof in point is that they'll pile up 5 lbs. of fish (that will never be sold) and by afternoon the ice it was on is now a pool of water that it's soaking in. Evening time is the worst. The employees that work in that department know little to nothing about the seafood they sell except how to weigh it. Customer Service has been another let down. Aside from writing rain checks and bringing carts in from outside they serve no other purpose. Once when asking a manager why customer service couldn't answer any questions his reply was to always find a manager because "those kids don't know anything". :( read more

I don't think that you should be closing your meat department at 8:00 p.m., 2 hours before you actually close the store. That's not good for your customer base read more

I address this with them and they took care of it but I would suggest checking your cash before you go not just for this place but for all businesses in ocala. MY husband and I went to the Earth Fare in Orlando, Fl on Gore Street for the first time. We wanted to try something new, so we tried the pizza. I usually love Earth fare chicken wings. Usually! I went in this past weekend to get my favorite wings and they went up in price. Not just a little but by $2! These wings aren't huge and the price they were was fair. Now they are ridiculously over priced. We already pay a lot to shop at that store. You need to open your email for special promo rewards, remember to click on any rewards you earned and open to your Rewards bar code every time you check out to maximize your savings. And if you forget any step or the cashier ignores you when you go through the motions, you lose, or feel cheated. What is the point of the app if I have to go to several places? I love Earth Fare, but we have eaten in the dining area three times in the past two weeks at the one in Ocala, and each time it has been filthy. Garbage is overflowing the trash cans, gnats flying all over the place, and tables are dirty and sticky. Condiments are sparse, or non-existent and and the one microwave they have to reheat pre-made entrees is never clean. I get all of my sons supplements here and his fruits and veggies, the wellness area really knows a great deal about multiple vitamins and supplements and they are so encouraging when asked about new ones. I am very into holistic healing and most places make me feel a bit silly but not Earth Fare they are truly the best. When Earth Fare first opened, the place was great. The employees were happy, and the store was always clean and well stocked. During the last year, however, Every.Single.Time I have gone, they have been out of what I was seeking, didn't restock, had no idea when more supply was coming in, and didn't offer a raincheck. I went four times, walking out with maybe one item out of 10-15 on my list. The last time I went, the meat counter had already closed even though it was two hours before closing time! Earthfare is a wonderful store I also appreciate that you are not mask nazis. I have an impaired immune system but I also have asthma so wearing a mask is impossible for me. With Covid I have used liposomal vitamin C and extra doses of vitamin D which are proven effective for the prevention of Covid and less severe symptoms of Covid. Despite my immune issues I have not had a sniffle and this is proven science versus the mask wearing which scientifically does not prevent spread, on the contrary Vitamin D and Zinc is proven scientifically to support the immune system to avoid Covid and lessen its effects to a flu like cold if one gets it. I've been here a couple of times since they opened. I really love that they have a decent-sized bulk section. And that it includes liquids (maple syrup, coconut oil, apple cider vinegar, honey, olive oil) and spices! You can bring your own jars/containers--just make sure to get the tare at customer service (this is a great option for any zero wasters out there!) I will say that it feels a little overwhelming when you first walk in. A lot of great vegan options. It can be expensive although the sales are pretty decent. read more
