I sometimes go to the Jewel in Bourbonnais and I know they can be pricy but this store kicks it to the roof. Like they need to pay off their building loans or something. The store looks nice, sure but the service is also another problem. My fiance and I are new to the Jewel app. So she asks for help from a guy who was stocking. He gave her an attitude. I did not see it or I would have said something. When asked for help, he sighed heavily like he was being interrupted with brain surgery or something. Very rude. Then they have their sale signs. We were there March 28th. I saw a great deal that Orange flavored zero sugar Gatorades were 99 cents if you buy 10. I get to the cashier later and the sale is inactive. I went to look at the sales sign and it says sale is good to March 18th. 10 days? Fortunately the cashier gave me them at 99 cents each but the principial still stands. We love fresh fruit, as anyone would. I looked at their honeycrisp apples and it would cost me $4 for a few apples? But, we were not going anywhere else at the time. Attached are the "fresh" peaches she got when she opened them up the next day to eat. Nope. People...stay away from here. We will NEVER come back here.

The sign may say Jewel Osco but it feels like and looks like a different store on the inside. It's got a different layout , a different atmosphere and a better selection of food compared to same jewel-Osco that were all familiar with. This location is also very busy too and it's great that this location was built to serve this community on the far outskirts of the Chicagoland region. Plenty of parking spaces and there's a great deal of community atmosphere too. Very clean store with great employees and shoppers alike. The con is that the grocery prices are still pretty sky high. Close to the highway with many things being developed around this store. Great location 4.5 Stars

There is a small section of "health(ier) food" and contrary to what you'll hear the produce is fine - it's like other places. People complain that things are overpriced here, which seems dumb to me. The sales are good and sometimes things are overpriced, just like they can be at Walmart and Target. What I will critique is that they have a bakery in house and yet all of their breads are the same and boring. Rolls are essentially odd-shaped hamburger buns and the baguettes are very long hamburger buns. I assume the hamburger buns are spot on, but it would be fitting if they weren't.

Now Berkots requires you to "clip" a coupon. Fine for those who love in the area. For those of us traveling in the area or visiting family, not such a great deal. My product was $1.00 higher than the sign. Why. Because I did not "clip" a coupon. Berkots made an extra $1.00 today. But in the future, any money I may have spent at Berkots, will now be spent at Jewel-Osco. I recommend anyone, but most especially those from our of town, to only buy at Jewel-Osco. They give you the lower price at all times. Good luck Berkots. I always liked shopping at your stores. But no longer.
