Let's start with the positives. I was able to visit the new store & first impression is, it's a great addition to the small community. I was really impressed with Jewel as a corporation when they personally reached out to me on social media. They had sent me a gift in the mail as a thank you for being a customer. The store is clean & nicely laid out. This trip we were there to pick up birthday treats for my niece to take to school. Kathy in the bakery section was a rockstar. She noticed my sister & I loading donuts up from the display cases. She actually walked over and brought us a tray of more options. She was super friendly & if all the employees at Jewel showed customer care like her, I'm sure you'd have return shoppers just for that reason alone. Self checkout was easy and lines were reasonable. Now, for the what happened moment... Starbucks. I know these employees work for Starbucks so I didn't want to bring the review down because of one bad interaction with one employee that could take some training from Kathy. I ordered a Venti Iced White Chocolate Mocha with no whipped cream. Pretty much the only thing I get at Starbies when I shop at my Albertsons in Arizona (where I reside). I had to wait a few minutes to order which was absolutely ok. A younger gentleman took my order, I paid with my digital app with the barcode scanner & waited for my drink. The two girls that ordered after me received their drinks before me. If you're not familiar with my drink it's literally milk, espresso and 6 white chocolate sauce pumps with ice. I still was patient. What turned this experience sour was receiving my drink and it was extremely dark. Usually the sticker of what is ordered is directly on the drink. I told the girl that this isn't my drink even though it had my name on it. I even attempted to take a sip and again, not my drink. I told Julia that my drink was not made correctly and she proceeded to let me know that she made it right. I asked her if she could remake the drink & she said she already put 6 pumps of mocha in it, it was right. I asked her to remake the drink, could I rewatch her. She was not friendly, if anything annoyed. As she goes to remake my drink, immediately the problem was discovered because she proceeded to add the regular mocha to the cup. I told her it supposed to be white chocolate. The boy told her that he did the wrong drink. So basically Julia assumed I was just a picky customer that wanted to tell her how to do her job rather than confirming what I even ordered. Even when she gave me my drink she didn't apologize. When she was making the drink, I was telling my sister that she didn't have to be so rude and I knew that the drink was too dark. Julia actually says out loud "I can hear you." My response, I hope you can. Very confrontational employee and unhappy demeanor for a brand new store open less than 2 months. Customer service feeling poor will quickly get people upset with your business. Please teach this staff on how to manage incorrect orders & to not assume it's the customers fault or that they're trying to make life harder. I was just trying to get the $7 drink I paid for, not a bad attitude. read more
