For the most part prices are good especially the sales and the Clarence food items, store is very clean and the bakery foods and produce is very fresh! I have this weird thing about stopping at grocery stores that aren't the usual ones I go to. The Chicagoland area kind of has a monopoly with Jewel and then there's always Mariano's, Heinen's, Aldi, Walmart, etc. This is a very very small Kroger but it was nice and clean and has pretty much everything you would expect. I'm looking forward to the espresso cheese I found in the deli area! Picking up some local beer from Brickstone Brewery was nice too. I would come back here. read more

Don't bother yourself going to this store franchise. They use to have the lowest price around, now there are a joke. For instance, they pretend to give you 10 cents off gas for every 100.00 you spend. This is a gimmick. They list the gas higher and pretend they are giving you a discount. Just go to Meijer and get it for the same price Kroger is pretending to discount. I stopped going to the deli section all together. They have rigged the scales so bad that 5 or 6 slices equal a pound. The deli section used to be so busy now people just walk by. Everything in Koger deli section is around 13.99 a pound. Just go to Jewels better quality, freshness and price. For example, Kroger honey maple turkey is 13.99 a pound and the same brand at Jewels was 8.99 a pound. I go to Jewels now after going to Kroger for years. read more

Kroger is the best grocery store ever solely because they are pretty much the only Chicagoland grocer that doubles coupons. (Let me know if you have heard of any others!) They have strict item limits but last time I asked about it, the cashier didn't know the policy. The policy is that you can only have 4 of the same items --- so don't try to get all extreme couponer on them with a cart full of 300 ramen noodles -- and they only double up to $1.00. They have a pretty good selection and I've noticed there is always at least 1 employee restocking at all times, which is good because my pet peeve is trying to find something and being confronted with an empty spot where the product is supposed to be. The cashiers and workers are all really friendly too and won't try to avoid your eye contact as you walk by (my other retail pet peeve.) The store is also very organized and it's easy to find everything on the list. If I could only go to one grocery store for the rest of my life, it would be Kroger. read more

I was at this store at 4:15 PM today, a weekday. There was only one cashier working and over 20 people waiting in line. The self-checkout had over 15 people waiting in line. A good number of people had shopping carts filled up at least halfway. Horrible service. I had to wait ten minutes for a self-checkout??? I was going to share my comments with someone in customer service, but guess what, there was no one there! I have never seen a manager walking around in the store in the five years I have shopped here. I've started to do most of my shopping at Meijer since COVID-19 since their stores have clean shopping carts, signs requiring people to wear masks and availability of cashiers. There's no indication of carts being wiped down at Kroger. No signs about masks, employees not all wearing masks. This is pitiful. Someone needs to start managing this store. The lack of cashiers has been a problem at this store for some time. I work all day. I am not interested in ringing up groceries and bagging them. Are my prices discounted for me doing some of the work your staff should be doing? No. I suggest you send some folks from corporate here to evaluate this store. read more

Woohoo for Kroger being open 24-hours so I don't have to navigate my way through the teenagers chillin' at Walmart at 1 am. Kroger is my favorite grocery store in the area. I recently moved back to town after 3 years living up north and I have to say, I am REALLY impressed with how their organic/natural section has grown. They even carry PB2 and kombucha now. They have the best managers specials and markdowns in the area. Their produce is always fresh and their deli has a large selection. Their sushi is fresh, made in-store daily. read more

Best Kroger I've ever been to! I normally don't care for Kroger's but this is a great store! I came for a big grocery haul and got everything but 2 things on my list, and a few extras that weren't on the list. Large produce section, tons of wine to choose from, a health section that blows Walmart off the map, fantastic sales and employees that are polite! The cashier said "do you have a Kroger card?" I said "no" she says "well ya do now!" and saves me $25 and I got enough points to get 10cents off my gas. She was very helpful and had a wonderful personality. I was in a rush today, but seen enough to make me want to come back! My only complaint was that some common items were missing from produce, not a big deal but that's all I can knock'em for. read more

They don't carry many things they used to that we buy, and one time, they sold my mom's info to a soup company! A little off the top, don't you think? But, otherwise, cool beans. They have a cool free magazine they place near the health foods section every month. They also send us monthly personalized coupons and bi-monthly magazine, with even MORE coupons. I have been here a few times and the store is spotless. But what impressed me the most were the employees. Everyone that I encountered said hello and have a nice day with a smile. Really? How Stepford Wifeish. But it made my shopping experience that much more pleasent. There prices are on par with the bigger chains. So why not shop where you are appreciated. Being a Chicago transplant (and assuming Krogers only existed where you would also find a Piggly Wiggly) Kroger seemed quite foreign to me in my new stomping grounds 4 years ago but I've learned when to go and how to navigate. Here's some tips, and reasons why I love it so; 1. Decent size (and separate) organic/vegetairan/eco friendly section. They don't have these things thrown in here and there, it's all in its' own little grocery store of its own. The section isn't large, but you can find just about anything you really need (even Tahini!) and it's at a better cost than the local health food store for when I'm on a budget. 2. SHOP SUNDAYS! On Sundays, late morning, the magical little manager helpers run around with their bright orange "Manager's Special" stickers and start drastically reducing $$ on my favorite grocery store finds...fresh produce, already prepared deli trays, seafood, meats...and all with plenty of shelf life left (none of that "Sell by TODAY!" crap) 3. Tons of clearance, all in one area and all marked to sell...it's fun to sift through when I have a few extra minutes. 4. Redbox 5. CLEAN!! 6. Friendly staff...honestly, I can't remember one incident of rudeness, and saying that out here means a whole heck of a lot. Oh and 7 can be the gas station that is located in the parking lot where you can rack up points in the grocery store to get $ off/gallon (I've got as much as $.30 off/gallon!) The points do expire and DON'T roll over so watch out. read more

They usually have all of the food I need. I always come here for groceries because they have the largest natural foods and gluten free foods selections in the area. Today it was extremely fast going through the lines, which surprised me because usually Sunday after church is the worst, but normally (any day of the week, especially the evening) it's packed. Also wish the shelves were a little tidier, but all in all it's the only place I grocery shop. read more

Kroger deserves every star it is given! I have never been to a Kroger's but this one is top notch.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My mother and I walked into the store and first saw the produce department. Seeing that they had Romaine Lettuce on the shelves knowing that there is an e-coli outbreak with other produce next to it as well. The 20 minuets that we were in the store not a single employee asked if we needed any help or even greeted us. One even asked us to move out of her way so she could grab something. I have been shopping at Kroger my entire life (remember the old Kroger :)) It is MY store! I enjoy shopping there, I enjoy the friendly employees I have seen for years BUT recently (probably since Ultra closed) they are not able to keep their shelves stocked. EVERYTIME I go they are out of what I need. And I am there like 3 times a week. It is forcing me to go to other stores. I have been a Kroger customer for 20+ years. Since Kmart closed down, this store has been struggling to keep up with the amount of customers it serves. The employees work hard to stock the store with products and some products have been eliminated to keep more volume of other products and with the overcrowding during peak hours. This will be my reason to shop somewhere else. Thank you for many years of your service. But the size of your store has become a problem. read more

I used to be a big fan of Kroger. But over the last year something has changed there for the worse. I don't know if they have new management or what the deal is but something is different. The produce there has gone downhill. The bananas always look like they are a day away from going bad. Celery is always limp. I always did 100% of my shopping here but more and more I go to other stores. read more
