Once again no bagger and happily begged my own groceries.(8 a.m..) if you want me to go down the street to Krogers or Aldis if conditions are any better I won't be back. still never seen a store manaager on the sales floor in 6 months that I have been shopping here? Rude cashier! The girl who is transitioning to a man. Stood there while I put my bags in cart with no offer to help and when I asked if she/ he is gonna help me it came back with very rude comments! Employees are either stoned or drunk and just lazy. They've screwed up my delivery order three times in a row. Tonight they said no one was available to shop it and didn't call me until it was supposed to be at my house. I couldn't cancel or reschedule it, and they said I'd have to wait for the morning crew to come in to cancel it and refund me before I could reorder. I WON'T BE REORDERING JEWEL and I hope no one else does either. So you can fire those employees that aren't doing their jobs anyway because your delivery service is useless and not worth a dime. read more

Be warned if you use their drive up and go service it doesn't work like the stores in Shorewood, New Lenox or Minooka. I picked a 5pm pick up time which at the other stores means it is ready at 5pm as I was going to be in town having work done on my automobile. I had to wait until 6pm until my 5pm order was ready. They didn't even start shopping for my order until 527pm. I had to wait in the parking lot for an hour for my order to be ready. It's been over 20 minutes since I notified the store I was here and I'm still waiting for my order to be brought out. This fiasco took 1.5 hours out of my day. Should have driven to Shorewood as it would have been faster than the wait here and the service there is great. read more

I would highly advise that you do not use Jewel's delivery service. I was excited to give them a go because they have a free trial and seem to have many benefits to their subscription. I have had an issue with every single order that they have delivered. My first order had a special where you would get a free case of Pepsi minis with a certain dollar amount purchased on a delivery order. The Pepsi was attached to the bill but not delivered. I called them up and they said they would give me a refund. No offense but it was a promotional free item that would result in a $0 refund. On another order I ordered cherries and one of the two bags they delivered was unusable because they were clearly past their date, rotten and moldy and yet someone thought that was acceptable to add to my order. Yesterday I ordered two bags of cotton candy grapes that are on sale. Not only did I receive the wrong grapes but the bag again was moldy. You are unable to contact anyone to make changes to your order like you can when you shop with other services. For some items not in stock they will suggest a replacement and others they won't. I have had replacement suggestions that make no sense at all and there are no other alternatives other than a refund. These items I have found out are shopped for by Jewel employees which makes it even more aggravating when you get the wrong item. It seems that there is little to no quality control for delivery orders as they seem to regularly provide product that is moldy or rotten. When you use a delivery service the expectation is that you don't have to go to the store afterwards anyways. read more

I decided last week that I'm going to be an extreme couponer. Not because I'm broke or jobless -- because honestly my husband and I make decent money -- but because I like to take trips and be able to do whatever I want when I want, so I figured I should start saving some moolah on groceries. That way, I can spend less money on groceries and have more money to spend on other things -- like airplane tickets and a passport. I've always heard (mostly from my mom) that Jewel is the "expensive" grocery store, as if you should expect people to be trouting about in high heels and diamond necklaces with one of those long cigarettes in hand. It's not like that, by the way -- sorry to disappoint. After yesterday's experience, I have to say that Jewel is probably becoming my grocery store of choice. I did the whole coupon match-up thing, where a blog tells you what's on sale and what coupons to use to maximize your savings. Since I'm brand spanking new at this, my coupon repertoire isn't quite up to par but I was still able to come home with some amazing deals. My receipt showed that I saved nearly 40%, I ended up with $4 in coupons to use off my next purchase in the store AND saved $0.05 on my fuel. I got a good amount of groceries for the week, minus meats, fruits and veggies and was able to spend about $30. Their Customer Service is fantastic too. I wish I knew the lady's name, but she's usually working the CS desk whenever I'm there. Yesterday, she helped me convert my regular Preferred Card to their new "My Jewel Rewards" card so I can get the fuel reward points. She was very in depth explaining everything about how it works and to make sure I discard my current card. I don't get anywhere NEAR as the good service at other grocery stores as I get at this particular Jewel and for that I'm giving it 5 stars. read more

Avoid this location like the plague it is a headache waiting to happen with daily mistakes, staff that could care less, a manager that apparently cannot fix the problems. Consistently out of there monthly free items which is poor planning. And all of this has persisted from months and I had already previously complained to jewel customer service apparently they don't care either. This store is near my mom. We ordered a mess o' fried chickens for Labor Day. They were pulling it from the pressure fryer right on time when we arrived. Hot and fresh. The folks are super nice, and I forgot to call until last minute. So, an 8:30 call that morning and they had it for us 1:30 the same day. I don't know too many places that would do that. We've ordered and shopped here numerous times and will continue to do so. A very nice experience and the deli is great! read more

Used to love their honey wings - bought them every week. Went to buy them and they looked completely different but was assured they were honey wings by deli personnel. Got home and first bite was very pink & a little bloody -2nd wing was the same so I put them all in my air fryer and cooked them a while. Breading was very thick - no honey flavor. Called the manager the next day who told me they had changed suppliers. He thanked me for call & said he would talk to staff about cook times. I do not like the new wings - too much breading and no flavor. Looks like I'll be making my own wings from now on in air fryer. I'm sure there is a recipe in Pinterest! read more

You know, nothing is perfect. I've read some of these reviews and I wonder if I'm shopping at the same store as those doing the negative reviews. I have been shopping at the Jewel Bourbonnais store at least once a week for six years. If I ever had a quality problem or concern, it was always handled promptly and without difficulty. My take of the Bourbonnais store is that everyone has always been extremely helpful and courteous to my wife and myself while we've been shopping at this store. Any questions or concerns are addressed. Employees are friendly, many saying hello and asking if they can help me in anyway. I shop in the mornings most days and I like the fact that the store manager walks around the store helping the departments prepare for the start of the day. His actions, as I have observed, have never been punitive, but always helpful toward his employees. He speaks quietly in a constructive manner, giving insight and direction. He is never vindictive, but uses constructive team building dialogue to assist his employees. His affirmative coaching skills uses cooperative dialogue to better serve the employee and the customer. As one who has managed many managers and rank and file employees, their store manager is a role model and example of a team leader. I would not say this if I had not observed his characteristics of genuine leadership many times. P.S. I enjoy shopping at this store! read more

I love how clean it is, there are always deals on fruit, veggies, meat, and produce, and they always have off the wall ingredients that I'm looking for to make a recipe! This is the first Jewel-Osco store I've ever been too where the cashiers are so unfriendly. They rarely say hello and they rarely say thank you. It's really strange as employees on the floor there do say hello, but the cashiers are totally detached. After giving this store several tries when I moved out here since it's closer to home, I've switched over to being a loyal Kroger shopper. My experience in the Kroger Bourbonnais store is that their overall staff is friendly and helpful. read more
