I have been lately very impressed with Aldi. I rarely shopped there prior because I have stores closer to me that have what I need, but sometimes I find unique products at Aldi. I have ordered from all grocery stories for delivery since the pandemic started, and Aldi has been my best experience. Aldi goes through instacart, and it has been very easy to use on my computer and the app. Once my order is placed and time slot for delivery chosen, I can add to, edit, and update my order until the shopping begins. I am able to choose specific substitutes and list notes for the shopper. The delivery fee is only $3.99, whereas the other stores charge $9.99. Both times my stuff was delivered, the way everything was packaged and placed by my door was flawless! I never was much of a fan of Aldi produce but lately what I have received is great quality. I would recommend Aldi delivery for local groceries right now if people are not comfortable going to stores, though the other grocery stores are now offering free pick-up (when some previously charged for this option). read more

I enjoy shopping at Aldi. I first discovered Aldi in Germany. Shopping at Aldi is kind of like like taking a little trip to Germany without the 5 hour plane trip. But really Aldi has great prices on their store brands that rotate seasonally. They don't take coupons but do have a wide selection of products. If you want more than one brand of product don't go to Aldi, head for the regular grocery store. Aldi keeps prices low with minimal staff. You will have to use a quarter to get a cart. You also have to bring your own bags or buy them at the store. The products are all displayed on special boxes that allow them to come into the store and placed on display with minimal handling. Your first shopping experience at Aldi may be a little unusual. But over time I have really come to enjoy the experience and look forward to shopping here. read more

So glad that there's an Aldi in MHK! Bring your quarter and your reusable bags. I appreciate that Aldi carries many European products (jams, chocolate, more). The remodel definitely improved the atmosphere. Produce selection is good, and there's a variety of organic products. Definitely the best prices in town. It's similar to shopping at Aldi in Germany, but with a Midwestern spin. Their deals ("Schnaeppchen" in German) can be great! Also, the store size is perfect, to me. It's large enough to carry almost everything, yet small enough that it's well-organized. No music, which I appreciate, so I can actually think while shopping. Employees are friendly. You bag your own groceries. Store is clean and well-lighted. read more

We've been shopping at Aldi for years. Decades. We love it. Last month (Feb 2019) the store in Manhattan, Kansas, changed their milk packaging and shelving. Instead of metal shelving on rollers, it now comes in plastic trays. It is hard to get the milk out of the cooler and it is a mess - with spilled milk in the bottom of every plastic tray. We had to wash every gallon when we got it home to clean off the milk that it was sitting in! On my visit today I had to rip open the shrink-wrap around the next stack of gallons in the cooler with my hands and pull the almost empty unit out into the customer walk space, because all that was left were three gallons that had been half smashed in the tray. If I wasn't 6'3" I don't know how I could have gotten any milk out. I told the staff about our displeasure and they asked me to go to the web site www.tellaldi.us and express our concern. I tried the site, read what seemed to be a very intrusive FULA policy - have you read that thing? - and tried to get into the program and it said I couldn't. Perhaps it works for others, but not for me. So this is my concern. If this doesn't change, we'll probably start buying our 6-8 gallons a week at WalMart. I'm sorry. I miss shopping here. It was always clean and so, so affordable. Over the last few years, they made huge improvements to their produce section and health food options, but the overall selection is still not great. It's a small store, though. If you're unfamiliar with Aldi, you need to be aware of a few things: 1.) You need a quarter to unlock a shopping cart. This may seem like a pain in the neck, but it guarantees that people put their carts away to get their quarter back. No loose carts dinging your car in the lot! 2.) You have to bring your own bags and bag your own groceries. This is why their prices are so good. It's largely self-serve. If you forget or don't have enough bags, they sell some, but you can also snag an empty cardboard box or two from the shelves. read more

I love Aldi. I have been shopping there for several years, and they have improved a lot. They have the absolute best prices on produce, and it is very fresh and lasts longer then buying from other stores where you pay 2-3 times as much. Most of their products are just as good if not better then name brands. But like any store, some of their products I don't care for, but there are very few. I love that I can find healthier items there like baked chips in different flavors for less then $2 a bag. Soy milk, fruit and yogurt bars, etc. Most of the time service is really fast too, they have some of the fastest cashiers I have ever seen. If you don't mind bringing your own bags and bagging your own groceries you can save a ton of money each week, and still have good quality food. Only thing to be aware of, they accept cash and debit cards, but not credit cards. read more
