Recently took my preschooler on road trip to Wamego. On the advice of a local we stopped at Friendship House for cinnamon rolls. She had a classic and I had a pecan roll. Several hours later, on the ride home, my daughter declares "Mommy I want to live in Kansas!" I asked her why, assuming it was all the fun Wizard of Oz themed activities we had done. "I want those cinnamon rolls for breakfast EVERY morning." So there you have it... the highlight of a four year old's carefully crafted holiday weekend, the cinnamon rolls at Friendship House.

The food was so good!!! We were visiting from out of town and was pleasantly surprised to find this little family ran gem at the end of the yellow brick road!

We came looking specifically for the bierocks because it is known to be a favorite food in Kansas. We had a warm welcome from our wonderful server, Margaret, who shared some history of this adorable town. The restaurant is in a cute house across the street from the City Park, which was also fun to visit. We loved the bierocks, the Kansas broccoli salad, and the cinnamon rolls. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

Server No idea, but appears to be a family business. Ambiance Looks and smells like grandmothers house. Food What we had was wonderful. Overall We came in to wait for the OZ museum to open and have some coffee and pie. Delicious! Military No

We loved our first visit so much we returned for breakfast. Yummy waffles and a delicious bierock too. This place is such a treasure!

We followed the yellow brick road to the Friendship House, which lives up to its name and exceeded our expectations! We highly recommend anything in the bakery (the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie was so divine, we ordered a second one) and the lobster Mac & Cheese (Friday special) was indescribably delicious. Barb was our friendly server and we would return again!

My husband and I stopped in here after visiting The Oz Museum. What a good decision. I had the Grecian stuffed burger and cucumber salad and it was delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly, the buns were homemade and the cucumber salad was perfect on this hot day. My husband had the same, but with potato salad. We also took some fresh baked cookies to go and had a couple on the way home to Wichita. They were soft and chewy, just the way we like them. The cookies seemed to be very popular, as there were many customers ordering them as we were waiting to pay our bill. Employees were accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend stopping in here for lunch if you're in the area.

Good food and the owner is always very friendly. Found of their breakfast in particular. A good place to go with kids prior to the park.

Online it said they offer grab and go cakes but no guarantees so I tried to call the number listed to ask ahead of time. No answer. I was calling within business hours. I decided to just drop in. The place is adorable with an amazing outdoor seating area and great seating inside. They had a good sized lunch crowd. I went straight to the bakery counter. No full cakes. They had like 3/4 of a Halloween cake being sold piece by piece. The date was 11/2. I asked someone about cakes and all she said was "not today". They had adorable little personal cheesecakes but at $7 a pop- not something I could get for my mom's Birthday. She didn't try to offer me a solid price for the 3/4 cake that was clearly a few days old. You'd think they would want it out the door. I ended up leaving with nothing and settling for the Hyvee bakery. Leaving was a bit of a mess. The parking lot is crazy confusing and I was forced to exit out of an area that said entrance only. The only other way out of the lot was between buildings and it was blocked. I'm guessing this is a great place. Just not for me on this day.
