A friend has been telling me for weeks about her great Aldi shopping experiences. For weeks, I've been ignoring her. She told me they carry a brand of chocolate that is 70% coca. Today, I happened to be shopping in the strip center where this store is located, so I said to myself 'what the heck', and checked it out. My first impression was that it was small. My second was there is not much of a variety, selection or general stock on the shelves. I didn't realize it was BYOB, Bring Your Own Bag. She was right about the chocolate. read more

I just arrived and parked my car. We are in a pandemic and off the back I see three employees wearing masks that are covering their chins, not their mouths, their chins. One of them is smoking right outside. I do see that they a respecting the occupancy by letting a certain amount of people at a time. But the masks? Was in the store today for the first time since march as I am a senior citizen I try always to always to be courteous and not not be a bother to anyone. Well today I was in line was trying to get paper bags I was told to hurry up . I was going as fast as I could while unloading my groceries at the same time.blake the cashier was very rude he did not practice safe distancing was too much in a rush he had a attitude. I like Aldi and only recently discovered it a couple months ago. Unfortunately, if you don't go early in the day most of the produce that is on sale is gone. They usually only have one register open too so expect to wait in line. On the bright side, I have found some delicious chocolate that in other places would be selling for way more. It seems like the new mgrs just can't seem to get it together. They don't order enough, so if you can't get there on the day the sale starts you are out of luck. Missing so many pricing signs and there isn't anyone around to ask for price. This store has really gone down hill with the new manager. Sad.. read more

My favorite grocery store not only is it cheap , they have quality !! I'm talking fresh produce .A nice selection of meats grass fed , organic :) much smaller than your avg super market but you can find so much in this store . A mix of your top brand names and also brands you've never heard of . definitely give them a try they are worth your buck ! So yes I highly recommend Aldi !! GO TO THE LIBERIA AVE LOCATION! MS. UPPITY WITH A SHORT DO WHO WORKS THERE HAS A NASTY ATTITUDE!!!! SHE WAS PICKING AND CHOOSING WHO SHE WANTED TO GIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE TO. We visited this location on Portsmouth Rd because we were in the area. This store associate with short hair kept following me around the store and kept looking at me and my family while she was sitting at the register. I'm not sure what her problem was but she kept giving me a nasty look. I just ignored her and when we were ready to pay, the line was really long. There was only one cashier open so she walked up to the front to help out. When I asked whether she was opening another register, she walked away and ignored me. Instead of announcing that she can take the next customer in line, she tapped one of the ladies standing in line and told her to follow her to her line. We all looked at each other with confusion because SHE WASN'T THE NEXT PERSON IN LINE!!! There was another lady in front of her. She was so transparent and she clearly disrespected everybody because she knew she could because she worked there. She was basically picking and choosing who she wanted to give CUSTOMER SERVCE TO. I've never had this experience at the one on Liberia Ave location, everyone there is always so friendly and respectful. NEWS FLASH MS. UPPITY WITH A SHORT DO, I DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE THE STORE MANAGER BECAUSE NO LOYAL CUSTOMERS=NO PAYCHECK!! Get off your high horse and come back down to Earth. My only complaint is every time I come in here there is a line at the register. So either go off peak, or prepare to wait it out.

Unfortunately, this store's quality has diminished over the past months and I am referring to the customer service and the product selection. I asked staff about empty shelves given that some shelves with regular items had not been stocked for a week and i was told that the items were on the truck. More and more frequently, this particular store does not carry products that are advertised in their weekly circular. When asked, staff refers to items that have nothing to do with the circular or they state that they have no knowledge. Some shelves are icky and last week, the refrigerated section was cleared out. I wonder if there is some hygienic issue since I have encountered the smell of spilled milk from broken milk containers in the past. Cleanliness is definitely substandard. More recently, the person at the checkout denied my wife's request to put the items into a paper box that she had collected. "No we don't do that". Since we are ALDI regulars and surprised to hear something like that, my wife asked for his name. He then said maybe he did not know the rift policy because he had only been working for three days. It is sad to see a store like that. This is not what we are used to and this is definitely not in line with the German supermarket discounter value proposition. read more

This is my favorite Aldi store. Why go to Wal-Mart when you can get stuff here cheaper and sometimes way better than Wal-Mart? Don't expect things to be fancy schmancy: Aldi is very basic at what items they sell. That is how they keep their prices low. They sell most of their generic brands but they do carry name brands every now and then. This store has been my gateway to many German foodstuffs. For the holiday season they sell German baked goods such as stollen (Yummy!) and chocolate eggs for Easter. Their chocolate eggs are hallow and inside they contain smaller chocolates (Chocolateception!)The most surprising thing about Aldi is that they have delicious chocolates for cheap. My only complaint is that their produce and meat could be better but at what you are paying for everything else, I would not complain much (There is a Global Foods not to far for better meat and produce). read more

My husband and I just had a horrible experience at this Aldi. The store is clean and well-stocked. Normally the staff are very friendly and check-out is a nice, quick experience. It seemed as though there was a manager working the register. My husband and I normally get a cart. We didn't have a quarter this one time and used 2 large tote bags from our car. I used to do this when I would shop for just myself at other Aldi stores. Usually they would let you pull the cart to the counter to bag your items and you would just give the cart back when you were done. We unloaded and paid for $150 of groceries. Due to the Coronovirus spread, we had been keeping a distance of 6 feet and using gloves, and wiping down items. The manager said we weren't allowed to pull the cart to the side to bag our groceries...even though he had 2 empty carts RIGHT BEHIND HIM. It is policy. We had to bag all of our groceries two feet away from his face and 3 feet from other customers faces, which was not easy as we had ton of groceries. We were frazzled and were being rushed. While we were bagging our groceries into our totes, the manger kept making rude comments that we should remember a quarter next time. My husband responded that we forgot it this one time. The manager said that if thats the case we can just come up and ask for one. WHAT!?!?! So, he was punishing us by not letting us pull the cart to the side to bag our items, but straight up said that we could just ask for a cart/quarter next time. During such a stressful time with shopping with the viral spread that is happening, I was beyond shocked by the unprofessional and rude service of this manager on March 23, 2020. We left Aldi in disbelief. I usually have a great experience shopping at this supermarket, but this makes us rethink where we buy groceries. read more

Aldi's is a fantastic grocery store. This one is located in a great plaza. Always well stocked and very clean store. Staff always friendly and helpful. They always have great prices. If you never been to Aldis they are a must stop great value. Don't forget your quarter for the shopping carts that you will get back when you return your cart. Also don't forget your bags.
