Tried Aldi several times over the years but just didn't get the hype. Years later and we do the budgeting system and Aldi comes up on our discussion boards Daily. Ok I give in and go check them out! Walk in to a clean, well lit store. Employees all around working non stop. We tried the taco and cheese pizza. Both great - the cheese only didn't reheat good. Bread was fresh. Holiday week and the meat department had been attacked already. We grabbed a few packs of sausage to try another time. The potato wedges were seasoned and cooked up very nice. Best item to me was the cookie ice cream sandwich with chocolate chips. Delicious!! Needless to say - I blew the budget on this trip lol! But it was good and worth it! We have already been back three times.

The love of my *grocery shopping* life. I switched to this location from the Westport Rd. location after it was built. I come from out of town (Shelbyville) to shop here biweekly and it's closer! This store is set up like every other Aldi's. It's organized and always super clean. The bathrooms are pristine. That matters to us parents of young kiddos who like to touch EVERYTHING. The cleanliness isn't what keeps me making my biweekly trek to my favorite German grocery chain though... it's the prices! You can't beat most of their prices. Tip: Make sure you bring a quarter and your bags!

This isn't my favorite Aldi, but it's still a solid location with lots of interesting and cheap finds!

This location was not enforcing mask requirements. Other than that, this visit was typical Aldi.

As of late, I can no longer shop at Krogers, Sam's Club, and most big box stores. 100% of their foods are using Apeel (terrible toxins to preserve old fruit and veggies) actually, makes me sick. And, 100% foods are bio engineered... like they use seed oils in everything... which makes me very sick. This is why there is so much sickness in America. Seed oils is like eating petroleum for your car... very toxic. Now, all the big chain stores are putting toxic plastic on your fruits and veggies that can't be washed off. Sadly, the Apeel foods are un edible. And, often rotten inside. Very sad.... Bill Gates is putting this on all the food worldwide, accept, European countries. I've known Dale for 20 plus years and his has the best organic and fresh fruits and veggies! Love him and his family! Love @ globalfreeliving.com

Garden Gate Farmer Market Review... (I don't recommend Garden Gates Gift Baskets and Fruits and…read moreVeggies.) My family has enjoyed Garden Gate for the last 30 plus years. I thought I had a great relationship with the Garden Gate family. Over the last few years... Dale has been selling conventional fruit as organic fruit et veggies from the Amish. Charging big prices for conventional fruit. The apples and other fruit is obvious gmo with apeel. I bought two expensive fruit baskets for my two mothers... and they provided me with two baskets that didn't have the items I purchased... I bought the baskets for the banana bread loaf and other high quality items. I was disappointed when I picked up the Fruit Baskets on Mother's day??? I lovingly mentioned to Dale... I bought these baskets for the banana bread and other high end items... which they didn't have included. Dales, reply? Get over it... You'll be fine? He replaced the Bread with two small blue berry muffins? I didn't buy a basket with banana's, muffins or grapes... Dale wasn't even gracious and offer to replace these items. He told me to give over it? And, laughed at me... My mother's don't care for banana's, grapes, or muffins... the basket's I ordered didn't have these items in them??? What the heck? So, if you frequent Dales market (Breckenridge Lane, Lou, Ky)... organic fruits starts with a #9 on the fruit and veggies... the water melons aren't ready until the middle of the summer... I bought 1/4 of a watermelon from Dale... cost me $8 and wasn't ripe at all. The apples started with a #3... this means conventionally grown with pesticides. Bugs, birds, rodents, etc.. won't eat conventionally grown fruits or veggies. When you order a basket... take the order and compare it to the order you bought... it says what's included in each basket. I'm not shopping there anymore... Buyer beware.

Fresh fruits and vegetables, local products, prepared foods, a solid butcher counter, and even seasonal essentials all in one place. It is honestly a perfect little grocer. I have been coming here my entire life, and that consistency is part of what makes it special. No matter how much the city grows or changes, Paul's always feels like Paul's. This Christmas morning, I stopped in to grab fruit and it felt like the rest of the city had the same idea. Busy, lively, and still incredibly well run. This year alone, my family ordered firewood from Paul's for the winter and also had them cater Thanksgiving. Both were excellent. That kind of range says a lot. You can pick up beautiful produce, plan a holiday meal, grab something ready to eat, or take care of seasonal needs without bouncing all over town. If you are a Louisville native, I truly hope you already know Paul's Fruit Market. And if you are new to the city or just passing through, this should not be an "if you know, you know" situation. This is one of those places that defines the community. Go once and you will understand why people keep coming back for decades.

Not being able to get food, a table, a drink, or get on a hayride just isn't fun. Today we decided to try our luck at a new spot, Sunny Acres Farm. Sunny Acres took us roughly 30 minutes to drive to. Parking was close, easy, and free. Adult tickets are $10. My children (four and under) were free. Sunny Acres has a small storefront with pumpkins, baked goods, salsas, candy apples, etc. They have various vendors lined up on the short walk to the pumpkin patch. Vendors include artists, kettle corn, and other refreshments. Admission includes access to the petting zoo, bouncy house, pick your own flowers, hayride, corn hole, live music, corn maze, games, and playground. My son rode a pony for $2. The lines were either nonexistent or short. The employees (or perhaps owners?) were friendly, accommodating, and provided a family feel that other similar businesses lack. We ate a meal while we were there. We had hamburgers and hot dogs. I know they also had chili behind the storefront and various other food trucks, including ice cream and adult beverages (cocktails and craft beer). I can't think of anything Sunny Acres lacks. I'm actually afraid of word getting out and having to share this experience with too many people. But, this family farm is worth patronizing.
