For your next unique event, head off the beaten path to Crestwood and discover the historic Waldeck…read moreFarm and Mansion. Located conveniently off of US-22 in Crestwood, you're sure to be charmed by this unique and inviting venue. A recent wedding found me at the mansion, and it was the perfect venue for the outdoor affair on a warm night with a gentle breeze. After a moving ceremony on the outdoor lawn, we moved inside for cocktail hour, where friendly servers offered some delicious appetizers (try the pimento-stuffed cherry tomatoes if they're offered!). After mingling while the wedding party and family took photos, we headed to the tent for the reception. Salads had already been served, and we enjoyed them while listening to stories and toasts. The entree was a buffet-style service, and the brisket is absolutely top notch. If fried chicken is more your thing, theirs is worth trying as well (yes, I got both!) All of the servers were so friendly throughout the evening and made sure everyone's glasses stayed full the whole night. Check out the inside of the mansion while you are there and you'll appreciate the beautiful decorations, including the original wallpaper in some of the rooms! Restrooms were upstairs, and there always seemed to be a line for them throughout the night, so plan accordingly if you're there for an event and know you may need to wait if you overdid it on your water intake. I loved discovering this beautiful venue and hope that you'll soon find yourself there as well!

The mansion is so beautiful and provided such a perfect place for the wedding party to spend the day getting ready with its many spacious rooms and bathrooms. It was also such a lovely place for them to have cocktail hour after the wedding while the pianist entertained on the grand piano. The grounds offer many gorgeous areas for the ceremony as well as the reception in a tent. Bev, the manager at the Waldeck was so great to work with and she was literally everywhere the day of the wedding to make sure we had everything we needed. You really must see the Waldeck Mansion in person to appreciate its beauty and charm. We couldn't recommend it more for your special event.

Recently spent 3 wonderful days and 2 glorious nights at the beautiful Spring Run Farm and Inn…read more(horse farm and bed & breakfast) in Prospect, KY. My hubby took me there in celebration of my 70th birthday! An equestrian experience was actually #2 on my bucket list, and it was such a joy to spend time at this amazing place!! Have always loved horses, and have had some experience/training as a teenager, but hadn't gotten my hands on a horse in decades. We were met at the inn at check-in by co-owner and master chef, Jeff Perellis. He showed us around the B&B, gave us a history lesson about the 2 circa 1790's cabins that had been enclosed within the beautifully restored dwelling, and made us feel most welcome. Later during our stay, he prepared several truly delicious breakfasts and dinners for us, as well. Co-owner Susan Perellis, an award-winning horsewoman whose family has owned this property for over 200 years and who grew up on the farm, arranged for us to have a riding lesson and trail ride with one of her trainers. The instructor, Linda, was very patient with us old folks, and was wonderful to work with. And a shout out to Linda's daughter, Lisa, who acted as a sort of ambassador for the farm from the minute we stepped past the inn's gate and into the horse barn area. (They have 5 barns and dozens and dozens of horses there!!) Lisa introduced us to most of the horses, helped teach us how to interact with them, gave us tips on riding, etc. Many people who come to Spring Run Farm and Inn just stay the night while they are doing other things in the area. Not us! We parked the car, then stayed on the property the whole time to get the most from this adventure! All the other riders at the farm were exceptionally friendly, as well, and were always willing to tell us about their horses, and often gave us treats to give to them! (Who knew horses liked peppermint candy!!) During our stay, we walked all over the property, and were also able to observe several riding lessons during our visit. Our entire experience at Spring Run Farm and Inn exceeded our expectations far beyond our wildest dreams, but the "icing on the cake" was going with owners Susan and Jeff during their "night check" of all the horses in the barns!! Can't tell you how special and magical it was to walk into a darkened barn at night, having Susan switch on the light, and all the beautiful horses sticking their heads out of their stalls to see who was coming to visit them!! A big THANK YOU to Jeff, Susan, Linda, Lisa, and everybody at Spring Run Farm and Inn for helping me celebrate my special birthday! We hope to be back soon!!!

First bed and breakfast experience and what an experience!!! I was expecting an old barn and a…read morecontinental breakfast. Instead it was a, very, recently updated house. We stayed in July and the days were consistently in the 90s and with the humidity it felt like over 100. The house and our room were always cool, it was such a relief. The WiFi was strong and present every where. Breakfast!! The first night it was just myself, my wife and nine year old daughter staying at the Inn. Jeff, the proprietor, asked what time we wanted breakfast. With nothing early to do that day we settled on 8:30. We came downstairs at 8:30 to find the table set. Coffee and orange juice on the table. There was yogurt and fresh blueberries and strawberries too. Then Jeff brought the eggs, bacon and potatoes! So much more than the bagel and granola bar I was expecting! I won't step though all four breakfasts in this much detail but just list some things that Jeff, a former chef, served. Bacon every day, baked French toast with fruit, a quiche, grits (my request), pancakes and there was always cereal if my daughter turned her nose up at something. This was the best meal of the day every day we were there! Did I mention how hot it was? We had brought a cooler on the five hour drive from home with water and pop that we planned to drink throughout the week. We brought the whole cooler home untouched! As we 'checked in' Jeff showed us the beverage fridge (water, soda, beer) which he kept stocked for the whole stay. Finally I will mention the early evening social hour snacks. Chips, dip, veggies, meat, cheese and always a bottle wine. Any time I need to be in Louisville I will be staying at the Inn !!

The property itself is beautifully maintained, with thoughtful details in every corner that reflect both comfort and charm. The room was spotless, cozy, and tastefully decorated. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and every amenity you could need was provided. Mornings were a highlight, with DELICIOUS homemade breakfasts that were not only beautifully presented but also full of flavor and care. What truly sets this place apart, though, are the innkeepers Missy & John. Their hospitality goes above and beyond anything you might expect. They are attentive without being intrusive, always ready with helpful recommendations, engaging conversation, or simply a friendly smile. It's clear they take immense pride in what they do, and it shows in every interaction. This is more than just a place to stay--it's an experience that leaves you feeling refreshed, cared for, and eager to return. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone looking for a peaceful, welcoming getaway.
