Parking is located in the back or they will give you a pass to park on the street if you want. The proprietors are great guys and made me feel really welcome! The second I arrived he showed me around the place and to my room, highlighting the place for breakfast in the morning and the rules of the place. In the morning, breakfast was at the table. It just included some muffins, fruit, cereal and coffee, but it was good. Had a great chat with Rich while I ate and with some of the other guests. The only thing was that since it is an old house the walls are paper thin. I had a couple of guests in the room beside me come home from a late night and angry with one another who felt like arguing at 2am. To their credit, they got the hint really quickly and toned it down after I knocked on the wall. If you are looking for a nice little place that's different from the norm then stay here. The home is an incredible historic building on the iconic St James Court street in Old Louisville. The street is gorgeous and the Inn is right in the heart of it, right by all the beautiful fountains and blooming trees of early spring. There's a small patio on the front porch that, during nicer weather, you can sit and take it all in. My room was VERY comfortable, with a huge plush king sized bed, a spacious bathroom with heated towels, and stocked with toiletries and small bathroom appliances. I was only in town for 30 hours for a work event and by the time I got back to the inn that night I was EXHAUSTED. I slept like a baby. So much so that I slept right up until I had to leave for my flight the next morning, meaning I missed the included breakfast. But the offerings sounded fantastic. Pat is a wonderful, gracious, and warm host. I'd recommend a stay here in a heartbeat and look forward to my return.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Two…read moreof my dearest friends tied the knot recently, and I cannot fathom a better venue for their wedding. With the wedding day scheduled for a Saturday, the bridal party and groomsmen were able to leave gowns, beauty products, suits, and overnight bags in our rooms the Friday before upon completing the rehearsal. This allowed for an easy situation to walk in to on the morning of the wedding as we prepared for the ceremony later that afternoon. The house was built in the mid 1800s and has been kept within the family since then. The current owners, Kim and Chaz, take great pride in the house and were extremely accommodating towards our group. They were on hand throughout Saturday to answer any questions. As a history nerd, I loved speaking with them more on the history of the house and the surrounding gardens (that were stunningly beautiful in September) as I snuck a cigarette on the back porch during the reception. When the bride & groom booked the venue, they were also able to secure accommodations for the bridal party. Considering that all five of the bridesmaids live over an hour away, it made for the perfect place to crash post reception. Our two flower girls had a ball exploring the house and spent the night as well with no problem. To top off the magical wedding weekend, Kim and Chaz prepared coffee and breakfast on Sunday morning for the guests that spent the night. I highly recommend considering Midlane Farm as a special events venue. The service we received certainly deserves five stars!

Stayed here for two nights. The first night was fine the second night when I got out of the shower…read morethere was a roach in the bathroom... called down to the front desk to tell them and that I wanted to change my room. She put me on hold and didn't come back. After 5 minutes I hung up and called back down there again and the woman said yes I'll change your room. Then she said come down and get a key and I said I'm in my pajamas and then she said you'll have to come and get the key. Maybe they were short staff I don't know. There was also no offer of assistance to the move from one room to another. I asked to speak to the manager after being on hold again for a lengthy amount of time I was told that the manager had gone home for the evening. The next morning when checking out the people at the front desk were professionally concerned and they told me they would have the manager call me. The manager has not called. They comped my parking for my troubles... So if you're thinking of staying here just beware...if there's a roach in one room you know there are roaches in others.

Each time I've visited Wooden Glen, it's been for a work meeting. On my last trip, I spent the…read morenight. From Louisville it's less than an hour drive, off the Henryville exit and down a curvy neighborhood road. While a scenic drive on a nice day, it was a little nerve-racking in the early morning. No sunlight and rain. The road isn't well lit and I had to use my brights, plus drive more in the middle of the road. On the path to the retreat center, you'll also drive through a covered wooden bridge made for only 1 car at a time. Check in was fast. About 50 rooms with double beds sit next to the main building and you can walk a long hall inside to avoid bad weather. The main building contains meeting rooms, eating area and a loft with snacks, pool table and a couple of arcade games. The loft is a favorite spot during meeting breaks - jars of candy, chips and ice cream. Plus, who doesn't love a free game of Ms Pacific Man? Our trip included all 3 meals and for the most part, decent. The employees there are very attentive, clearing plates from the tables. It's nice to not worry about bringing in food or having to leave and visit a restaurant. Wooden Glen has a great deck outside with several tables, giving your group another spot for meetings or eating. In nicer weather you'd have areas for walking and I believe they also offer a team building area. The rooms are large. I appreciated the sink outside the full bath and small patio outside each room for enjoying coffee. The bed wasn't comfortable - felt outdated and had a weak mattress. Everything was very clean though. The outdated feeling carries through to each gathering area near the rooms. Each have couches and chairs, sometimes a fire place or kitchen area. It's a large spot to have a party. Again, very clean but it would be nice to have new furniture. Service has been great at Wooded Glen, and this has been consistent with every visit. It's a great spot for work retreats or a large family gathering. Or, if you just needed a quiet spot to be alone, it would serve that purpose.

We had a retreat here for work which included 22 of us. We made this place our home, classroom, and our playground for 3 days! This is located about 35 minutes from downtown Louisville. Once you entered the property you are entering a place of Tranquility and peace. During our time here every need was taken care of. We had amazing food For each meal, snacks and drinks too! The day before we left we had Team building activities. Shaun and Amy led our groups through multiple events. These team building events were challenging and incredible. They created such an amazing and unique experience! The resort has hotel style rooms, volleyball court, horse shoes, walking trails, fire pits, and more! Can't wait to visit again!

Our only regret about P&P is that we could only stay one night. Next time we will plan around spending several days here. This place is a destination in and of itself!

Once we arrived, we knew we were in for a special weekend! Francesca and her husband were perfect hosts. Starting from the welcome emails I got, with suggestions for activities while we were there, to follow up emails asking if we had any special requests or needs. We stayed in the Gatsby room, which was elegantly furnished, and very peaceful. Next to our room was the community pantry, stocked with drinks, snacks, games, movies, and books if you desired. There were 3 other couples staying in the Inn while we were there, so we got to know them over the course of our weekend at meals and just relaxing around the house. Each room was tastefully decorated and unique, and the grounds were just lovely. We were treated to a delicious breakfast each morning, complete with coffee and fresh juice. I had responded to Francesca's email about a dietary restriction, and she made sure to supplement my meals so I wouldnt miss anything. I appreciated the extra attention, eve though I did not require anything special. Saturday night, we were lucky enough to enjoy dinner at the Paddock as well. Again, dinner was fantastic, and the company was even better. We really enjoyed laughing around the dinner table, and appreciating the laid back atmosphere that the hosts created. Sunday before we left, we got to spend some time chatting with the Innkeepers about their lives, and I could really see how much they care about each other and their guests. They truly enjoy the business, and meeting new people each week. If we find ourselves in LaGrange, KY again, or find that we could use a weekend away, the Pillow and Paddock will surely be on our short list. We got in late and went to grab a bite to eat (limited menu)and the place was still hopping at about 11:00 p.m. They are intentional about their efforts to be green to have their bed large size soap shampoo conditioners in the bathroom so no more of those little bottles... Although I do admit those are kind of nice to have and grab sometimes...def going to come back!

If your a local or staying in the area they have a full size grocery shop that sells food items. You can have bourbon samplings are all you without even leaving the hotel. Make sure or course if your staying to check out the pool. It's lovely. A local coffee shop called Heine is in the lobby. It has great coffee and different drink combinations and you have options! The days are long and life is short. Live your best life and find love in all things. Your happiness awaits you!
