There are great B&Bs, and then there are exquisite B&Bs. Chateau Bourbon is most definitely an exquisite experience. From the moment you're greeted at the door until you say goodbye at the end of your stay, everything about Chateau Bourbon is wonderful. This was our 7th visit (we think) to Chateau Bourbon. Missy and John are the most gracious hosts you can imagine. Guests feel like family as soon as you arrive. The happy hour each day pairs a wonderfully prepared dessert with a well-crafted bourbon cocktail. Whether served on the patio or in the living room, it's a great time for conversation. The rooms at Chateau Bourbon are gorgeous (we've been in all four rooms) and are roomy, comfy, and we'll appointed. Breakfasts are always amazing. Three courses, starting with the house granola served with yogurt and the Chateau signature drunken cherries. Second course is a savory breakfast item, followed by the third course which is the sweet item, accompanied by the house bourbon butter maple syrup. We've never had a breakfast we didn't rave about. Spending a day walking through the Norton Commons neighborhood is like a throwback to an earlier time. The homes are gorgeous, and there is plenty of places for shopping and dining, all within walking distance. Chateau Bourbon has become a regular stop for us, and we'll keep coming back because it's like our home away from home.

For our first time staying at a Bed & Breakfast, Chateau Bourbon set the bar extremely high! The minute you walk up to the front door and inside you feel at home. The decor is beautifully done, the breakfasts are delicious, nightly happy hour drinks is are a wonderful way to start the evening, and the hospitality from the owners was even better. If you love Bourbon you will LOVE staying here! And within walking distance of cute boutiques and great restaurants! Wonderful weekend getaway...

If I could give 10 stars it still wouldn't be enough! This quiet, quaint, gorgeously designed & decorated B&B is absolutely wonderful! The hosts, Missy and John, are about the kindest people you'll meet in Kentucky, and they have thought of everything to make your stay here perfect. A warm greeting upon arrival, daily happy hour and three course breakfasts are just a tiny ingredient in this recipe for relaxation. The neighborhood is fabulous-so much within walking distance. Restaurants, bars, shops, parks and the amphitheater -you truly hate to leave here. This is a must if you're near Louisville.

    The daily three course breakfast!

Charming is simply an understatement. This adorable B&B is absolutely everything one would dream of and more! Every single detail of Chateau Bourbon is exquisite and was carefully thought through to enhance the experience of the guests visiting. Located in Norton Commons, an upscale utopia of Louisville, Ky, this B&B is a must whether from out of town or your next staycation! The owners are absolutely darling and invite their guests to a three course breakfast everyday, provide a cocktail hour with a wide selection of bourbon, supply plush bathrobes in each room, ensure every guest has access to pool necessities...the list just goes on and on! The rooms - if only I could stay there forever! King size beds, individual thermostat controlled, full bathrooms, outdoor patio spaces, personalized toiletries...HAVE YOU BOOKED YOUR ROOM YET?? It's no surprise Chateau Bourbon is one of the best in the business. Come visit Louisville and experience the bourbon culture like a royal!!

Guys and gals, if you're looking for a great spot to intertwine your love for your significant other and eht sweet nectar of the Gods, think about checking out this place, Chateau Bourbon. It is so great! The proprietors are so friendly and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. My wife and I spent this weekend here to celebrate 25 years of marriage. Homemade 3 course breakfast and happy hour is included. The neighborhood is so quaint and everything is within walking distance. We will be back!

The opportunity to stay here hasn't happened yet, but wow! If a stay-cation ever happens... this wouldn't be a bad place to settle in for the night. I recently came in for their first anniversary and after being there for a few short hours... all I can say is WOW! I'm normally picky about bed and breakfast spots but I've stayed at quite a few on the east coast. Since I live in this city, researching a place like this isn't at the top of my list. Let me just say... a B&B with a bourbon theme right in my backyard? I have no words. There's bourbon in the common room that I assume you can help yourself to while staying. Each of the four rooms are bourbon themed. Empty bourbon bottles for decoration. Each room having access to outside whether it be a small balcony or the downstairs patio or an OUTSIDE SLEEPING ROOM! It was cold on this particular night, but that outside sleeping room would be perfect in the summer. I was blown away by the rooms here. When you go to multi-room B&Bs, normally the rooms vary widely which makes some more desirable than others. Each room here is unique and top-notch while keeping the same luxuries/amenities. That downstairs patio... whoa! Rocking chairs, swings, a fire... I can't imagine how amazing it is in the summer. The one year anniversary party was fun. The hosts gave everyone a tour. They also treated everyone to delicious snacks and drinks. If even a portion of those snacks are available on a day to day basis... you'll definitely be comforted during your stay! One thing that stuck out about this B&B... you can really choose any one place to hang out! Other B&Bs I've stayed in have the hotspots where most people hangout and socialize. This B&B was all over the place. It was welcoming. It made you want to spend time all over the house and outside. It was hard to choose a favorite spot in the house! I haven't stayed in this B&B yet, but I'll definitely compare all future B&B stays to this one! Anyone coming into town... I'm sending them here!

We looked at a lot of nice places but we wanted to use Shack-in-the-Back for the food (another great place). I happened to come across the Greenhouse by accident on a Google search for venues. What a find. We met Marti to look at the space - downstairs is a fairly large, relaxed m, open-air space replete with lots of picnic tables, fire pits and games (putt-putt, large Jenna, Connect 4, etc). There was a covered area that sports a bar set-up and plenty of space for the catering. Two bathrooms and a space for prep work. A sound system you can Blue-tooth into and tv's to show videos. There is an upstairs area, very similar but inside. The two spaces are separate but, for a small fee, the Greenhouse will hold the upstairs in case of inclement weather - we did this. Marti was great. She help us thru the entire process, kept us informed and worked with us on getting everything ready for the party. We had a great time. Everything came together and everyone had great time. We received many compliments on the venue. And, another great thing, it's in the East End but only 20-25 minutes from anywhere. I highly recommend The Greenhouse at Zeppa for your next outing. Perfect for Birthdays, Family get together, Graduation and the like.

Timing was excellent leading up to the race. We arrived for the last tour of the day at 3 PM on a Sunday and were directed to a covered wagon being pulled by a tractor. We used a small set of steps to access the wagon and then took our spot on one of the long bench seats on either side. Bales of hay lined the center of the wagon and were covered with soft horse blankets. Our tour guide was fantastic and entertaining with his presentation. He welcomed our questions and was very approachable during the entire tour, which was approximately an hour, and we did not feel rushed. We toured one of the horse barns where we were able to meet and greet at least 4 horses, including thoroughbred and Lippizaner breeds. We also were able to view a video presentation, trophy room, and memorabilia, which were all very informative and interesting. We resumed the wagon tour and accessed various fields along the route out and back, which contained foals, colts, and adult horses. Gorgeous picturesque property with rolling green fields surrounded by neat black board fences and very well maintained. This was an amazing experience for me even though I have lived in this area for many decades and I learned quite a bit of history while on the tour. I look forward to returning to share the experience with family and friends and knowing the tour will continue to evolve as the seasons change and the life cycle of the horses continues. I would also rate this as one of the top 5 things someone should see if they are visiting the area for the first time and want to better understand the importance of the horse in this region.

My hubby took me there in celebration of my 70th birthday! An equestrian experience was actually #2 on my bucket list, and it was such a joy to spend time at this amazing place!! Have always loved horses, and have had some experience/training as a teenager, but hadn't gotten my hands on a horse in decades. We were met at the inn at check-in by co-owner and master chef, Jeff Perellis. He showed us around the B&B, gave us a history lesson about the 2 circa 1790's cabins that had been enclosed within the beautifully restored dwelling, and made us feel most welcome. Later during our stay, he prepared several truly delicious breakfasts and dinners for us, as well. Co-owner Susan Perellis, an award-winning horsewoman whose family has owned this property for over 200 years and who grew up on the farm, arranged for us to have a riding lesson and trail ride with one of her trainers. The instructor, Linda, was very patient with us old folks, and was wonderful to work with. And a shout out to Linda's daughter, Lisa, who acted as a sort of ambassador for the farm from the minute we stepped past the inn's gate and into the horse barn area. (They have 5 barns and dozens and dozens of horses there!!) Lisa introduced us to most of the horses, helped teach us how to interact with them, gave us tips on riding, etc. Many people who come to Spring Run Farm and Inn just stay the night while they are doing other things in the area. Not us! We parked the car, then stayed on the property the whole time to get the most from this adventure! All the other riders at the farm were exceptionally friendly, as well, and were always willing to tell us about their horses, and often gave us treats to give to them! (Who knew horses liked peppermint candy!!) During our stay, we walked all over the property, and were also able to observe several riding lessons during our visit. Our entire experience at Spring Run Farm and Inn exceeded our expectations far beyond our wildest dreams, but the "icing on the cake" was going with owners Susan and Jeff during their "night check" of all the horses in the barns!! Can't tell you how special and magical it was to walk into a darkened barn at night, having Susan switch on the light, and all the beautiful horses sticking their heads out of their stalls to see who was coming to visit them!! Jeff, the proprietor, asked what time we wanted breakfast. With nothing early to do that day we settled on 8:30. We came downstairs at 8:30 to find the table set. Coffee and orange juice on the table. There was yogurt and fresh blueberries and strawberries too. Then Jeff brought the eggs, bacon and potatoes! So much more than the bagel and granola bar I was expecting! I won't step though all four breakfasts in this much detail but just list some things that Jeff, a former chef, served. Bacon every day, baked French toast with fruit, a quiche, grits (my request), pancakes and there was always cereal if my daughter turned her nose up at something. This was the best meal of the day every day we were there! Did I mention how hot it was? We had brought a cooler on the five hour drive from home with water and pop that we planned to drink throughout the week. We brought the whole cooler home untouched! As we 'checked in' Jeff showed us the beverage fridge (water, soda, beer) which he kept stocked for the whole stay. Finally I will mention the early evening social hour snacks. Chips, dip, veggies, meat, cheese and always a bottle wine. Any time I need to be in Louisville I will be staying at the Inn !!
